Why the Owner Chose Marathon
We love being one canal over from Vaca Cut. We used to have a 65 foot party boat like the Marathon Lady in our canal. Our canal has had many sailboats and large boats that draft over 6 feet. Our canal is free flowing and is approximately 20 feet deep. It is so easy to get out to the Atlantic Ocean or Gulf of Mexico. We love the privacy of being on a corner lot.
The Unique Benefits at this House
While staying at our Keys home...you are only minutes away from Sombrero Beach, Dolphin Research Center - see the dolphins paint, Hawk's Cay where they feed the dolphins three times a day. Beautiful Island Breezes and fishing from the dock anytime of the day or night - we have lights under the dock called Tarpon lights because at night you can see the Tarpon and other tropical fish. Or take a snorkeling, diving or fishing trip. Key West is a great place for shopping or just sightseeing. Just another day in Paradise...
Owner's Map of Marathon
Our family started going to the Keys back in 1987 and we fell in love with the island ambiance of Marathon. We love the beaches, fishing, lobstering, local restaurants and most of all the tropical sun and the warm ocean breezes. It is truly paradise...If you decide to buy a piece of the island or an island home please contact me.

We rented this home for two weeks during lobster season and had a great time. Our grandchildren loved the pool as well as we did. The home was very clean and had everything that we could have needed. Close to stores or the taxi would take us. Very quiet even by the main road. The canal was big enough for the 30 ft boat we rented and very easy to dock. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay with our family. Our 4 children and three grandchildren loved it also. The home was big enough that we didn't feel cramped with that many people in it and Paulette was so accomodating. We would suggest this home to anyone with a family or friends. Just not next year, because we will be there!
Owner response:Thank you for being "Happy In Paradise!" Can't wait to see you all next year for more lobstering and enjoyment. What a perfect way to end your summer in the Florida Keys. If you get too cold in Wyoming and want a warm Keys getaway, pick up the phone and call me. See you soon. Best Regards, Paulette

Fantastic Place to Stay!

We have been staying in the Keys for years on our vacations. I have to say that this place was the cleanest and nicest house that we have ever had. The furniture was all new and high quality, the Kitchen was first class, and there was plenty of room for my 4 teenagers. The location was very nice and there were a lot of stores within walking distance. There is even a highly rated small Sea Food Restaurant about a block away. If you rent a boat (or bring one with) you will be glad to know that this house is perfectly located on the Vaca Cut. Drive out of the canal and turn right and you are in the Atlantic; turn left and you are in the Gulf. We did some fishing under the 7 mile bridge and had a ball. We did some snorkeling and diving off of the Coffin's Patch reef which is about 2 miles away. And we went Lobstering in the Gulf near some Canal Passages. I walked over to Captain Hook's and watched a charter boat clean a bunch of fish for some clients. There were some interesting fish in that group and some very large Tarpen eating the leftovers. My wife loved the Bathrooms. They were spotless and new. Like I said, the interior of the house was Class A. Paulette (the owner) spent some money there. I think she needs to come to my house and furnish it for me. The kids loved the Pool and spent a lot of time laying out in the sun and throwing water at each other. There is a very convenient fish cleaning platform right on the edge of the dock with lights and a fresh water hose nearby. We took the boat out and went out to eat at a fun seafood restaurant on the way to the bridge. We really enjoyed ourselves and I found myself looking at real estate ads, dreaming about buying a rental down there and haveing Paulette run it for me. She does an excellent job (and she is nice too). Take my advice, go and have fun in Marathon and stay at this place. You won't regret it, and your family will remember this the rest of their lives. That's what this is about, creating memories... the good ones.

We just returned from spending a week in Marathon for Spring Break. We brought our boat and 2 waverunners. It was perfect! The public boat ramp is minutes away and easy to navigate back to your own private dock. It was great to be able to jump on them and just go! The home is essentially brand new with very nice kitchen and bathrooms. It was very clean and comfortable with everything you could possibly need in the kitchen - even a Margarita machine! The house comfortably sleeps 8 but easily can handle 12. Paulette is very gracious and goes out her way to accomodate your every need. My only negative aspect of the home was that the back dock (it is a wrap around) was only the canal and one open lot away from the main road running through the keys without any privacy. We parked the boat and waverunners back there so only used it to load and unload but it was somewhat of an eyesore. They are building a coffee shop on the lot so it will block the view from the road. We spent very little time out there so it was fine. It was a great vacation - we usually head out west to ski over spring break so it will be difficult choosing which to do next year!

I highly suggest this house to anyone looking for a fun place for vacation. This beautiful home is clean, has everything you need, and just a wonderful wonderful place to stay. We spent every night looking into the canal and seen so many types of fish, we even saw a manatee! I was so sad to leave, I wish we were still there, and we are already planning our next trip! We truly had a blast here, and Paulette is very helpful and wants your stay to be wonderful. Thank you Paulette for letting us stay at your beautiful home, see ya again next year!

Wonderful property, we had a great time. The owner was very accommodating. There are only two reasons I won't give an excellent rating on an otherwise excellent stay. First is a minor thing. The light switches in the house made no sense. After some hunting and pecking around we figured out what switch controlled what light, but it was a bit of a learning curve. The only other issue was with the dockage. It was extremely difficult to navigate into the canal from the ocean. There is a very very narrow channel that's unmarked to get in off the main channel by vaca cut. And there's not any real shore power hookups to speak of. We ran extension cords to the boats which worked out ok, but having that many feet of dock one would expect 30 or 50 amp service. Other than that, I'd highly recommend the place to anyone, as long as you're not bringing in a boat with a draft over 3ft. Those two minor negatives did not take away from the wonderful time our family had there. It's a beautiful home and most excellent vacation spot.

This place was perfect. We went as a family vacation sister and kids and grandparents. It was gorgeous inside and out..The owner was wonderful.. So nice and very helpful. Outside in the canal it was like having an aquarium right outside your door. the pool was great. It was nice to cook if you want or go out since the place is close to everything.. We can not wait to go back

This is the best location in the Keys! The house is gorgeous, inside and out. New and clean, with every convenience imaginable! It couldn't be more elegant, yet it's still very comfortable. The pool is great and you absolutely can't beat the canal! Close to anything you want to do: shop, eat, beach, or boat. I can't wait to go back!!!
