The Coffou Cottage, designed by Brininstool-Lynch and completed June of 2008, has a modern aesthetic and is set in a sweeping meadow and black oak hardwood reserve. The 2700 sq ft linear design includes an open plan of the kitchen, dining, living area and porch as one room intensifies the views to meadow and woods to the South. The arrangement of the rooms and glass throughout every area of the house are to maximize views of the outdoor environment. A fireplace is positioned in the front hallway that divides the bedrooms from the living area faced by a custom built sofa. The screened in porch is a perfect summer haven for relaxing and dining.
The home has many classic mid-century modern furnishings, some dating to 1948, all collected with comfort in mind. A tribal and modern art collection enhances the redwood and glass lines of the home. The kitchen accommodates both the serious and the casual cook. Every bedroom has a private bath.
Located amid the cottage community of Michiana Shores, the house uniquely sits on property that is expansive and secluded. The Lake Michigan beach is an 8 minute walk.
