Lovely, relaxing stay in quiet town
Lovely, relaxing stay in quiet town

The house was well-equipped and as described online. With just two of us, we didn't use all the space but it suited us well for a vacation to simply relax and enjoy time together. We made good use of the bikes (we did not rent a car--took the bus from the airport) and enjoyed the canoe and adventuring around the area. Absolutely loved the pool. It was unfortunate that the internet did not work at any point in our stay (DSL and phone line had static issues which we think hindered the internet). Fortunately, the rates are very reasonable at the internet cafe in town. We appreciated having DVDs and the few satellite channels to watch in the evenings as it is definitely quiet in the area and the perfect end to a couple rainy days. We were thankful for the helpful "house manual" that came in handy on more than one occasion and the management were incredibly prompt and helpful in answering any questions we had. We ate out only a couple times, once in the village for pizza and once at the Uprising Resort--both were adequate. Tried to cook using as many local ingredients and food as possible but spice options were VERY limited so food remained simple in nature. Husband did the Shark Dive with Aqua Trek and Speardiving with Freedive Fiji--both were professional operations with excellent service. Thanks for providing such a lovely place to retreat.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks so much for your review of our villa. We're really sorry to hear that there were internet problems. I looked into this further. As it turns out, the previous guests had switched the cords so they were not configured correctly and that was the problem. We have since labeled the cords so that this does not happen again. Good that the local Internet cafe worked well for your needs. Pacific Harbour is such a relaxing place to be. The canoe trip around the river is one of our favorites as well. All the best and we hope you will keep Fiji in mind again for another vacation.

This is my third stay in this house and when the opportunity arises, it will be my fourth stay venue, and fifth ...! This place is beautiful, well equipped, well serviced and well maintained, and located just 45 minutes from your business in Suva, but far, far from the noise and pollution of the city. Best beach in Fiji just a 10 minute walk. Great hotel - The Pearl - a high-class place to hang out and invite people. And there's the golf course clubhouse [I don't golf, but the food and ambiance is great]. One great thing is that there are several very reliable and helpful people around who serve this property who can answer your every question and take care of things should the need arise. So there's no worries about arriving and having no one to deal with for something that doesn't work, or an emergency of whatever kind that you don't know how to handle in a strange land. All in all - my kinda place! Brian Auger, AmsterdamOwner response: Hi Brian, Wonderful to have you back at our villa again. It's always a pleasure to hear such positive reviews and to be able to accomodate guests that so thoroughly enjoy our villa as much as we do when we stay there! You can't beat the quiet setting and the beautiful beach so nearby. Good to hear that our staff has taken such good care of you too. We look forward to your return!

The house was great. Safe nieghborhood. House has service staff that met us and asked if we needed any additional assitence. Shops close and hotels close by. If you stay here get a car and bring a clock (there were no clocks in the villa when we were there). Fiji time does not apply to tours like scuba or rafting. I suggest if you stay here to rent a car. The drive from Nadi is 2-3hours and from Suva 1-2hours. You'll want to get out of Pacific Harbour if you stay more than a week. My only regret is with so much of the world left to see the chances of us coming back to Fiji are slim. ThanksDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My family (2 adults and a 4 year old) stayed at his property for a week in June 2011. Everything from the booking and meeting with Richard to the hospitality Of Raj, Sushilla, and Kitty were top notch. The curry that Sushilla prepared for us was fantastic! We enjoyed the pool, the canoe (took it out 3 times for multiple hours at a time), and Pacific Harbour greatly. Friendly people, good restaurants, a leisurely round of golf on Father's Day, a sunset bike ride in the neighborhood with the provided bikes, strolls along the beach, the cultural center in Pacific Harbour and the beautiful house and scenery are just some of the memories we will have for a lifetime. Just today, my son was excitedly talking about all the crabs we saw while taking the canoe out. The title says it all -- we hope to be back someday. If you are looking for a beautiful place to stay in Fiji, with lots to do in the surrounding areas, look no further than here.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: Dear Darrick and family, reading your delightful review made me homesick for Fiji! We really appreciate hearing about your stay and all the activities. We're very happy that you had such a full vacation and we would love to have you back again.

Amazing place! We went there after zip-lining close by. The owners have thought of everything that a visitor might ask and put down the answers in the manuals. And they have also thought about every little comfort that a visitor/couple might need and have made them available too. Extremely peaceful, well maintained, and beautiful villa! Looking forward to staying there again soon.Recommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, tourists without a car.
Owner response: Thanks so much for your kind words - very happy to hear that you had everything you needed and really enjoyed the Villa and hope you will return again. All the best to you.

My husband and I were very fortunate to spend a bit over a week at this beautiful, clean and conscious property. I like to do my own cooking, so prefer having a full kitchen over staying in a hotel and eating out. Although occasionally we went to Uprising restaurant where the staff is extremely friendly and easy going, for a treat. The fact that the annex is used by employees of the owner, gave me a greater sense of security. The pool is large enough to actually exercise in, not just to cool of in, which was a big plus for me. Swimming in the ocean (in the middle of winter in Ireland), made all my friends jealous! We would therefore recommend this "home away from home" to any of our friends and relatives. Thank you so much for making your beautiful house available to us, Katinka and Steve Haggerty IrelandRecommended for: Age 55+, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children.
Owner response: Many thanks for your kind review. It's always wonderful to hear how our home is enjoyed by travelers all over the world. Thanks for spreading the word to your friends and relatives and we hope you will come back again to enjoy another beautiful South Pacific vacation.

My family had been planning a trip to the Pacific Harbour area and Beqa Island specifically for some scuba diving and to celebrate the December holidays. We used to live in Suva, the captial of Fiji almost ten years ago and frequently visited Pacific Harbour for recreation and relaxation. Our main criteria for lodging was the option to shop for and prepare our own meals at our accomodations. While planning this trip, I looked into the hotels available, but what was offered were items from the hotel menus and no personal food prep space. After some scouring around, we did find a single room accomodation with kitchenette, but it felt cramped. A friend more familiar with the area suggested that we look into Villa 62. Why we hadn't thought of a villa earlier, I have no idea. However choosing Villa 62 was such an excellent fit for my family. The accomodations are spacious, and was perfect for our two week stay, We thoroughly made use of the large kitchen for meal preparation. It has all the modern conveniences. For shopping we took a taxi into Suva for added variety. The swimming pool is very nice. Our family enjoyed it immensely and spent much of our time around the pool. Buying some floaty toys added to the fun. For our next diving trip, we already know where we will be staying :-) Recommended for: Families with Young ChildrenDid you find this review helpful?
