Aloha, and welcome to paradise and our Hawaiian home - A spacious (over 1500 sq ft!), air conditioned, non-smoking, luxury condo located in the Keauhou Gardens section of the prestigious Kona Coast Resort, one of the top rated condominium resorts on the Big Island.
Our condo is one of the few true 2-bedroom oceanview end-units at the Kona Coast Resort. These units are the most desirable type unit at this resort because the master bedroom is directly adjacent to the lanai. This means that you can enjoy the Kona breezes and views of the ocean directly from your bedroom! We also enjoy the advantage of being an end-unit, so we have large screened windows lining the entire living and dining room areas. With the help of three ceiling we get excellent airflow throughout our condo. There are only three privately owned units like this available for rent at the Kona Coast Resort. Our condo is the only one of these units with all of the following desirable features:
* Easy access - Our unit is level with the parking lot. No stairs!
* A secure, second floor unit with a private Lanai, not accessible from the ground and hardly visible from the other units!
* A quiet and efficient Sanyo central AC unit ($10,000). Each room can be cooled separately using wireless remote temperature controllers! AC is free. Unlike many condos in the area we do not charge an extra $20 daily fee for using the AC.
* All new hard surface flooring with beautiful accent rugs! The flooring is either ceramic (kitchen, bathrooms, foyer), or beautiful wood laminate (living, dining, and bedrooms).
* Three new wall-mounted LCD TVs! A 42” 1080p HD TV in the living room, with a Philips 2.1 sound system, and a 32 “ LCD in each bedroom. Each TV is connected to a new DVD player, as well as cable TV. Guest bedroom also has an Xbox game console!
* All new top quality appliances: A Jenn-air 36” ceramic stovetop, a built-in GE digital oven and microwave oven, a side-by-side Frigidaire Gallery Series refrigerator with an in-door water purifier and ice maker, a Maytag Quiet Series III Dishwasher, and a full-size GE Profile Series washer and dryer, with stainless steel tubs!!!
* High quality, firm beds: A huge California King bed in the master bedroom, and both a queen and extra long twin bed with pillow-top mattresses in the guest bedroom.
* Beautiful Hawaiian style tropical furniture and decorations throughout the unit. You won’t find any of the less expensive “mainland-style” furniture in our unit.
* Free broadband internet access - wired & wireless (WPA secured WiFi)

We love the many amenities offered by the Kona Coast Resort, including a full-time activities desk, restaurant, two beautiful pools, 3 Jacuzzis, spa, and work-out room, all situated on 22 beautifully landscaped acres of land. We also enjoy the location, which is in Keauhou; a quiet, upscale area close to downtown Kona (5 miles south), yet far enough away to enjoy a more quiet, relaxed atmosphere.

We chose our condo at the kona Coast Resort because we were very impressed by the extremely high quality of this resort and the units. The resort grounds are impeccably maintained - as good as any resort we've seen in any of the Hawaiian islands. Our unit is fabulous - over 1500 sq ft and very well built. We especially enjoy the huge ceramic-tiled lanai and being an end-unit we have many large windows to let in the Kona breezes. This unit feels more like a luxury house than an typical small vacation rental unit, and we feel very lucky to have found it!

Jaci and I currently live in southeast Michigan in a suburb of Detroit. I work as a chemist and Jaci works as a fish biologist for the department of the interior (USGS).We first visited the Hawaii in 1984 and instantly fell in love with with the islands. After many visits, and many painful return trips to Michigan, we took the first step in realizing our dream of eventually retiring part time in Hawaii when we decided to purchase this beautiful 2-bed ocean view condo at the Kona Coast Resort in April of 2002. Jaci & I are happy to share our Hawaiian home with our guests. We know that you will enjoy staying there as much as we do!

As we are writing this on the lanai, looking out onto the ocean, we are asking ourselves why we are going back to Alberta where it is – 25 degrees right now !? It is very difficult to leave Paradise. We enjoyed staying here with all the amenities. You have the condo decorated so well and it was great to stay here. We enjoyed the golf at the Kona Coast Golf club. It is a beautiful course. There aren’t too many places where you can golf and watch whales at the same time! Thank you!

Guestbook Comment: We have been to the Big Island a number of times and this was the nicest place we have stayed. We had a great time snorkeling at Kahalu’u and boarding at Ku’a Bay. We got to the lava at the Volcano National Park and made it to dinner at our favorite restaurant twice: the “Bamboo” in Hawi. We enjoyed our visit and, in particular, this lovely condo. Thanks.

Jaci, your decorating taste is wonderful … loved the sea turtles, dolphins, geckos and tropical fish. We will miss sitting on the lanai with our Kona coffee listening to the birds and gazing out at the ocean. The binder listing the attractions was very helpful. We snorkeled at Kahalu’u Beach and Honaunau. The fish and sea turtles were an amazing sight. We definitely recommend dinner at Bubba Gumps. Go early and get a table by the water where you can watch the sunset.

Guestbook Comment: The condo is very comfortable and relaxing “home away from home”. Right away we settled in to “island time”. We appreciate all the little extras in the condo, including the boogie boards, X-Box, and extra coolers, which made our stay much easier. The highlight of our trip was the helicopter tour over the lava flow. We also visisted the Volcano National Park, parasailed over the Pacific Ocean, and attended an authentic luau at the Royal Kona Resort (unfortunately, we didn’t enjoy the poi). The beaches in Kona were very easy to get to and fun for the whole family. We spent some time at the Magic Sands beach, which had a lot of big waves, great for boogie boarding, and at the La’aloa Bay, great for snorkeling and has many cool fish to see, including pufferfish and many others. We also saw many sea turtles during our stay in Kona. The KTA supervarket was very convenient, and Don the Beachcomber restaurant had great food. Guestbook Comment: Great place!! We’ve been to this property since 1996. You’ve done a great job making a “home away from home” in a great location. We appreciate your well stocked kitchen. We cooked lots of breakfasts & lunches. The weather was great. We had several overcast days early on, but we worked on our base tan. We finished off our tans with a day at Hapuna Beach. A must visit for all! I seem to remember Robin Leach listing it as one of the top ten beaches in the world. We were here during the most recent surface eruption at Pu O’o. We visited friends in Kalapana, trekked out to the flow and had fun. Not too many spots in the world where you can walk to where the lava is flowing into the ocean!! We did take in the night snorkel visit to the giant manta rays. Another world class triumph. My oldest daughter and I did this 8 years ago. This time I took both daughters. Definitely leave out of Keahou Bay with the folks there. It is literally a 10 minute boat ride. The carpenters were busy rebuilding the stairs and back decks. What a project. Very professional crew. They moved quickly and got a lot done every day. Keep up the good work! We’ll be back.
