Aloha, and welcome to paradise and our beautiful Hawaiian home. Unit 12-201 is a spacious (over 1500 sq ft!), air conditioned, non-smoking, luxury condo located in the Keauhou Gardens section of the prestigious Kona Coast Resort, a Five Star Gold Crown resort located on 22 beautifully landscaped acres, approximately four miles south of downtown Kailua-Kona.
Our condo is one of the few true 2-bedroom ocean view end-units at the Kona Coast Resort. These units are the most desirable type because the master bedroom is directly adjacent to the lanai. The entire west wall of the bedroom is lined with floor length windows and sliding doors, so guests can enjoy the Kona breezes and views of the ocean directly from the bedroom! Being an end-unit, we also enjoy the advantage of having over 25 feet of extra windows lining the living and dining rooms. With the help of three ceiling fans, we get fantastic air circulation throughout the entire unit!
Since this lovely condo is our future retirement home we take especially good care of it. Our unit is extremely well maintained and reflects the care and attention to detail that you won't find in many other vacation rental units. We visit our Hawaiian home at least twice each year and are constantly making improvements.
The entire unit is decorated in a pleasant Hawaiian tropical theme, with sturdy cane and wicker furniture and seascape wall decorations. All appliances are top quality and relatively new. For entertainment we have three new LCD TVs, each equipped with a DVD player. You’ll find a wall-mounted 42 inch 1080p LCD in the living room and a 32 inch LCD in each bedroom, along with an Xbox game console, for the kids.
Our unit is now 100% carpet-free! As concerned owners, we realize that wall-to-wall carpeting is not a very good idea in tropical climates like Hawaii, because the high humidity leads to mold and odor problems. So, we converted all flooring in our condo to either new 18” ceramic tile or beautiful wood laminate. The floors not only look great but are much easier to keep clean, and guests will enjoy an environment free from carpet dust mites, mold and odors!
Access to our unit is easy. The front door is on the same level as the parking lot (no stairs or elevator to contend with) and the entranceway is private (no hallways).
Our lanai (balcony) is absolutely fantastic! Over 300 sq feet, ceramic tiled, completely shaded, secure and private (not accessible from the ground!). This is a wonderful place to enjoy a cup of Kona coffee each morning while listening to the numerous song birds, or enjoy the beautiful and colorful Kona sunsets each evening.
Other amenities you’ll enjoy include our quiet, efficient, state-of-the-art, tri-zone central air conditioning unit. Wireless remote control units are located in each room, so guests can cool each room independently! Best of all there is no charge for use of the AC
We also offer free WiFi during your stay. At most other vacation rental units guests must pay an extra $10 per day to use the WiFi service supplied by the resort, but our guests enjoy free WiFi access from our privately contracted internet provider. And the signal strength is always good since you will be the sole user!
Visit our personal website below for more detailed information about this lovely unit. After viewing the 80+ recent photos of our unit you'll realize why many of our former guests consider this to be the premier 2-bed unit at the Kona Coast Resort!

Why the Owner Chose Kona Coast Resort
We love the many amenities offered by the Kona Coast Resort, including a full-time activities desk, restaurant, two beautiful pools, 3 Jacuzzis, spa, and work-out room, all situated on 22 beautifully landscaped acres of land. We also enjoy the location, Keauhou, a quiet, upscale area close to downtown Kona (5 miles south), yet far enough away to enjoy a more quiet, relaxed atmosphere.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo
We chose our condo at the Kona Coast Resort because we were very impressed by the extremely high quality of this resort and the units. The resort grounds are impeccably maintained - as good as any resort we've seen in any of the Hawaiian islands. Our unit is fabulous - over 1500 sq ft and very well built. We especially enjoy the huge ceramic-tiled lanai and being an end-unit we have many large windows to let in the Kona breezes. This unit feels more like a luxury home than a typical small vacation rental unit, and we feel very lucky to have found it!

Jaci and I currently live in southeast Michigan in a suburb of Detroit. I work as a chemist and Jaci works as a fish biologist. We first visited the Hawaii in 1984 and instantly fell in love with with the islands. After many visits, and many painful return trips to Michigan, we took the first step in realizing our dream of eventually retiring part time in Hawaii when we decided to purchase this beautiful 2-bed ocean view condo at the Kona Coast Resort in April of 2002. Jaci & I are happy to share our Hawaiian home with our guests, and hope that they will enjoy staying there as much as we do!

Thank you for letting us stay in your paradise condo. You are so lucky to have this place. We were very comfortable here and enjoyed the pool and Jacuzzi. The highlight of our visit was Mauna Kea and Volcanos National Park. Especially Kiluea Iki trail. Don’t tick off Pele – I put my hand in Lake Waiau and ruined a pair of $500 glasses 20 minutes later! Mahalo!

We are very thankful for this lovely condo! Tom and I felt right at home. We drove to the volcano, swam at Hapuna beach and watched as whales and dolphins splashed in front of us. Four days is not long enough. There is so much more to discover. We would love to come back. Mahalo, for now.

We loved our first visit to the Big Island! From snorkeling and boogie boarding at various beaches, kayaking with spinner dolphins, hiking to black sand beaches – we did it all! Returning to such a spacious and homey condo really made our trip special. We were really able to relax, read, play games and enjoy our family. Thanks for sharing your home with us!

Thank you so much for letting us stay and enjoy your beautiful condo! Our first night on the Big Island we spent at a hotel in Kona, but decided to move out asap. Luckily we found this lovely condo and felt right at home. We always loved to come back after a long day of activities on the island. We went snorkeling almost every morning with our son, hiked the Kilauea Iki crater, went horseback riding, enjoyed several beaches (from black to white sand), and visited the Billfish tournament to see the big catches (mostly Marlin). But there are so many more things to see and explore, so we will return soon. We would love to stay at your place again! Thanks again!

Tom & Jaci: We want to take this time to thank you again for the wonderful accommodations. The condo is truly a home away from home. We could not ask for anything more. We visited a few new places this time. We drove through the north shore and up through the green, lush hills of the Parker Ranch area. Breakfast in Waimea of course. (A must) Visited a new beach down Waikaloa Beach Drive. It was perfect in the respect that it was sunny but there were palm trees for shade. Favorite beach Hapuna! Akaka Falls was beautiful! Went and watched the Manta Rays at the Sheraton. Saw 11 in all, a spectacular sight. This was truly our best vacation to date. Had fun and relaxed and very little sunburns this time. We will have a lot more memories to take back with us. We will always have Kona! Mahalo.

Guestbook Comment: Thank you for letting us rent your condo. As we are writing this on the lanai, looking out onto the ocean, we are asking ourselves why we are going back to Alberta where it is – 25 degrees right now !? It is very difficult to leave Paradise. We enjoyed staying here with all the amenities. You have the condo decorated so well and it was great to stay here. We enjoyed the golf at the Kona Coast Golf club. It is a beautiful course. There aren’t too many places where you can golf and watch whales at the same time! Thank you!
