We recently completed a fantastic short visit to this condo in Boston's North End. This is one of the best VRBO rentals we have ever come across. The location is so convenient to many of the historical sites in the North End and is easily accessible via walking, public transit and taxi. The condo itself is in great condition in a quiet building tucked back in a courtyard. The condo is located near many great food options and we loved everything we tried; especially the boston cream puff pastries from Mike's. But, what really sets this condo apart are the owners. They are the most detail-oriented and helpful renters that we have encountered on VRBO. They sent an incredibly helpful email a few weeks before our stay that answered any and all questions we could have had. They made the entire rental experience seamless and efficient. We will definitely rent from them again!

I have just got back from a stay in this wonderful Condo in the beautiful North End of Boston. I have been to Boston many times but always stayed in hotels. This is such good value for money and its great to have your own front door instead of a boring hotel. Teh space for 3 of us was great. I took my mum and my brother. They loved it and are still talking about it now! When we arrived we went to The White Hen Pantry on the corner of North Bennet and Hanover Street. Now it is quite expensive, but they have a deli and for a few items it served us well. The location was fantastic and you are spoilt for choice with all the different restaurants in the area and around Boston. A fantastic stay and will be back!

This condo is not just "near" the Freedom Trail it couldn't be any closer unless you were on the Freedom Trail! It is located literally just around the corner from the Old North Church and maybe 3 block (very short blocks, too!) from Paul Revere's House. Part of our group arrived early Thursday afternoon, left their bags at the condo and began their Boston adventure. Thank you to Carlos for letting them leave their bags prior to the normal check-in time. The rest of us arrived about 6:30 pm. EASY train ride from Logan Airport. The North End exudes history. You can almost hear the walls and cobbletsone streets whisper to you regarding the events and people that created this country. We had dinner at Mamma Maria (across the square from Paul Revere's house!) and it was delicious. The staff was delightful. Make a reservation - you won't regret it! But don't get dessert there, although I am sure it is wonderful---walk over to Mike's Pastry and get in line for a canoli (we did - every night!). The condo was clean and accommodated the 4 of us quite nicely. I would love to know more about the history of the building in which the condo is located. If those walls could really talk! DO NOT BRING A CAR. Really, you won't need one if you intend to stay in the North End or the City of Boston. The T is a great and inexpensive way to get around. There were plenty of nice soft towels and the condo had everything we could have wanted or needed. The beds and linens were comfortable. If water pressure is high on your priority list, please note, that probably due to the age of this building, the water pressure in the shower is not the greatest, but other than that, this was a perfect place to stay.

We found the apartment very convenient for all the historical sights, shopping, eating out and transport. It is tucked away in a quiet courtyard, is well equipped and very comfortable. There is a small supermarket on the corner of the street and many wonderful restaurants nearby. North End is the Italian district of Boston so there are also great bakeries and delicatessens within easy walking distance. North End Station is about 8 mins walk away and gives easy access into other areas of Boston though walking the Freedom Trail, which is very close by, is a must. Carlos and Cheryl Gaskin, the owners of the apartment, are extremely helpful and approachable. All in all we would recommend the apartment wholeheartedly.

Nice apartment in the heart of the North End. Many restaurants, bars, bakerys and deli`s around the corner and its only a 5 min walk to Aquarium or Haymarket subway station or a 10 min walk to the center Funeil Hall etc. Stayed there 1 week with 5 people and it was nice. Although its a quite small apartment everything worked out fine for this fantastic price. Thanks again Carlos !!!

This was our second visit and we had an equally enjoyable time. The apartment is very centrally located in the North End, quiet and safe. It is cozy but very clean and neat.Fine for two, but tight for four. It is a good value based on Hotel rates nearby and the fact that it is a small apartment, not one room. We love the North End and are looking forward to staying again next year! Dave and Cindy Massachusetts

My wife and I had a wedding to attend between Christmas and New Year's in Boston and decided to stay for a week. This condo is in the oldest section of Boston - the North End which also happens to be the Italian secton. The condo was nice with a small full but servicable kitchen. We cooked Christmas Eve and Christmas Day dinners in it with no problem. The condo was very clean with lots of necessaries such as towels and kitchen and bath supplies. Lots of books and visitor information which was wonderful. The best part of this condo is it's location. A bit over one block from the Old North Church which puts it almost on the Freedom Trail. Next to Salem and Hanover Streets puts it right in the action of the Italian section with all of its restaurants. The nearest "T" (subway) station is only a 5 minute walk and from here you can get to Harvard/Cambridge in less than 1/2 hour. Franeuil Hall shopping is a 10 minute walk. The ideal place to visit all of the sights in Boston. We will come back when we visit Boston again.

My wife & I had a great week's stay at this very clean & comfortable condo. Easy to find, quiet in a safe & friendly neighbourhood. Location is ideal, between Salem St & Hanover St with access to lots of great Italian restaurants in the North End. Only a 10 minute walk to Fanueil Market, the nearest T station (Haymarket). Great communication from the very accommodating owner, Carlos. The heating in the condo was great (we were there mid-December) and facilities just as described (TV, DVD, internet etc.). It was a good job there was a 2nd bedroom in order to fit in all our Christmas gift purchases to take back to England! Would definitely recommend to friends & family and would love to return in the near future. Boston is such a great city, plenty to see, restaurants galore, easy to walk around and navigate and fantastic oysters and seafood. We'd highly recommend Marliave Cafe near Downtown Crossing (Bosworth St) between 4 & 6pm for their superb $1 oysters. We tried everywhere from Neptune, B&G, Island Creek etc. and Marliave's were up there with the very best and elegantly presented on lots of ice as they should be. A friendly bar/restaurant. Go there!

We stayed in this condo in October (4 sisters, 50s and 60s). It was perfect for us. Absolutely spotless. It is small but we got along just fine. It was wonderful to have a refrigerator and be able to make coffee. The North End was a great place to stay - so very walkable and just steps from the Freedom Trail. Fabulous restaurants. We enjoyed it very much and would rent this again.

This condo delivers everything it promises. It's super clean and comfy and conveniently located. The North End has a true neighborhood feel, so you don't feel like you're staying in a big city. While the street is quiet, right around the corner on Hanover Street are plenty of restaurants (and Mike's Pastries...yum!) and shops and locals going about their daily lives. If you love Italian food, this is the place to stay! A few minutes of walking takes you out of the North End...to historical sights, or more shops, or the T if you want to ride the subway. And it really is steps away from the Freedom Trail. Thanks to Carlos and Cheryl for a great place to stay and making everything so easy!

My daughter, a girl friend and I spent Labor weekend in this condo and enjoyed everything about the experience. We were attending a family wedding in Boston and decided to live a slice of life in the city rather than staying in the same old hotel room. We were not disappointed! The condo is verry clean, updated and nicely decorated. Not huge but has everything you would need or find in any older condo in a large city. Somehow they even fit a dishwasher! Boston's North End is very fun, safe, convenient to eating, touring and the T and colorful- we even saw the Stanley Cup as it was paraded through a side st. The condo is off the st and very quiet. Hope to return!

I was not really looking forward to staying in a big city, but booked the condo because my husband visited Boston previously and loved it. Much to my surprise, so did I!. We were able to walk wherever we wanted to go (bus tour, aquarium, harbor tour, restaurants, Freedom Trail) and really enjoyed the old streets of the ciry. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone who wants a quiet, cool, clean place to rest after a long day of walking (especially if you have teens so everyone can spread out and have some "alone" time). Loved Pushcart Pizzeria on Salem. If you want to go out to eat on Saturday night, be prepared for lines! We were able to get into Mike's bakery on Sunday morning and so glad we did not wait in the HUGE line the night before. Would definitely like to come back and if we do, would surely stay here again.

This condo is very clean and cozy and incredibly convenient to all of Boston's historic attractions. It is smack dab on the middle of the fascinating North End and makes you feel like a native for the duration of your stay. It's also walking distance from the subway. It's walking distance also from some of the best food in Boston! One of my better VRBO experiences for sure.

Have just returned from five wonderful days in this condo, which is in the North End district of Boston. The condo was clean, small but perfect for one's home comforts away from home. It had everything you could wish to have in your own home apart from in our case, "quaintness". We LOVED it, we loved the area, the people, the atmosphere. If we come back to visit Boston we will certainly rent Carlos and Cheryl's condo in North End. Thank you also for a hassle free rental experience from start to finish.

The condo was exactly as described. The building is old but charming and location is excellent. The unit was freshly painted and immaculately clean. Appliances are modern. I don't recommend it for people who have difficulty climbing stairs, but for anyone who can make it up one flight, it's fine. One nice surprise was a little convenience store on the corner, just a block away, where we could buy groceries. There are two T stops within short walking distance (including one that goes directly to the airport). Our teens especially liked the aquarium and the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, each of which we visited twice in our one week stay. One day we took the T to the airport and rented a car to drive down to Plimoth Plantation - well worth the trip. There are not many (or any?) hotels in the North End, so we were especially grateful to have this unit available to us. For such a lively neighborhood, the unit was particularly quiet because the building is on a courtyard, foot traffic only.

What an amazing stay we had in your condo. We arrived in Boston on Christmas day, just in time for the blizzard. Your condo was so easy to find and the rental process was a breeze. Your detailed instructions were fantastic, we knew everything from how to dispose of the trash to how to operate the TV and wireless before we even arrived. It's in a fantastic location, close to wonderful restaurants, grocers, and pastry shops (Mike's yum!). We were able to walk to all the sights, with Paul Revere's house right around the corner. For those who don't like to walk the T station is right around the corner. A 5 minute ride took us to Cambridge were we toured a beautiful snow covered Harvard campus, another day we hoped the T to Fenway for a stadium tour and then again for a day at the Museum of science (great fun, especially with kids, the butterfly exhibit and a movie are a must). The condo itself is extremely cute and comes with all the comforts of home. Our daughter loved having her own room, as opposed to sharing a hotel room with mom and dad. Thank you so much for a fabulous week. We will be back!

We stayed here for three nights in mid December and had a wonderful time. The apartment had everything we needed and the building is very family friendly. The beds and pillows were comfortable and they had a lot of extra blankets and linens which was great in the chilly weather. The location was great being right in the middle of the North End. Pizzeria Regina is just a couple minutes walk as is Mike's Pastry and Daily Catch(the best seafood past ever!!). Closest station is Haymarket, and North station isn't far either. Carlos was really great about answering all our questions and providing everything we needed. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend this apartment to others.

My husband and our 4 year old and I had a great stay at this excellent location in the North End. Quiet street, walking distance to many attractions. The size of the apt. was just right for us. I've had several friends who have lived in the North End, and lived in very similar apartments to this one. Small by suburban America's standards, but perfect for a cozy family getaway to Boston! It was very clean, in fact I noticed how clean it smelled when we walked in. We were able to walk to playgrounds, Faneuil Hall, even Chinatown, (but we did use our umbrella stroller for our daughter, it would have been a long walk for her, but it was perfect for us.) We parked in a local garage and did not use our car until the day we left. Our 4 year old loved riding the T, so we took the T to Harvard Square one night for dinner. There is a great children't book store over there. We went to the Children's Museum one afternoon, which was just right for her age. We also went to the North End branch of the public library one rainy morning, and they had a nice little children's section. The contact info with the apartment owners was excellent. They always had good email contact with us, and sent us very detailed, thorough instructions for check in, check out, parking, etc. We have, and will continue to tell our friends and family about this discovery that fit our needs just perfectly.

This condo was perfect for my sister's and my recent trip to Boston. We loved being in the North End with boundless restaurants, pastry shops, small grocery stores, historic sites, etc., all within a couple of blocks of the apartment. Transportation to the airport and Metro connections was amazingly convenient. The apartment exceeded our expectations and we really enjoyed coming "home" every night after a full day of sightseeing. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to friends/family.The owner provided excellent customer service - even mailing my sister's left-behind cell phone back to her. It arrived home before she did!

We had a fantastic stay at this apartment- it was everything we expected and more! Carlos went above and beyong by providing us with helpful hints about the North End and how/what to see in Boston. We have rented several accomodations in other cities (New York City, Barcelona, Dublin, Paris and Miami) and this was top notch! The hospitality on top of the beautiful accomodations was a fantastic bonus-everything was straight forward- from getting on the "T" to finding the apartment. Also, the recommendations of splitting up the Freedom Trail and extra details about car rentals/parking was appreciated! The apartment was spacious, up-to-date, clean and in an excellent location. We LOVED the North End and we definately will tell all our friends about this wonderful city and fantastic place to stay! Thanks, Julie in Toronto, Ontario, Canada

We couldn't have asked for more. The two of us had a wonderful 7 day stay at this immaculately clean and quiet condo; located perfectly between Hanover and Salem Streets. Within walking distance to everything. We felt very safe walking to and from the condo at any hour of the day or night. Neither of our taxi drivers - delivering from the airport and picking us up, had any trouble finding the condo. When I dropped an earring and it went under the bed, I feared not being able to find it. At even the best hotels the earring would have been hard to find among the dust bunnies. No dust bunnies under this bed!! Although there is a washer and dryer in the hall just outside the condo, we found the laundromat on Salem, across from the North Church just as convenient and we could do more loads at once. Although the temperatures were in the mid-90's, the 3 window air conditioners kept the condo comfortable day and night. We took the "T" to the Back Bay twice, and ended up walking 'home' each time. We aren't big city people; Boston didn't seem like a big city to us. We've already told everyone we've talked to about this wonderful condo, it's perfect location and a rental price well within our budget. Our only fear is that the next time we want to rent it, some of those friends will already have it reserved! Thanks Carlos and Cheryl for sharing your condo and making our vacation one that we will always remember.

We stayed the first time in Boston and it was a great time in the City. The appartment was great und clean and we had a great time. It was our first appartment in the holiday and I will ever do it again stay in a appartment, than a hotel. It was a little bit tricky to find the appartment, because we didn“t find the house, it in the back of other houses. :) And we had a car, so it was a bit difficult to get our laggage to the appartment, but we had luck with a parking in the house. And then we get our car in an parking garage. From the north end to get in the city, it is easy to go on foot, or you take the metro. Well, it was great and we loved to stay there. Thanks.

We just got back from a week in this lovely condo. We were traveling with 3 children--a 14 year old, a 10 year old, and a 1 year old. The location absolutely can't be beat--the day we did the Freedom Trail, we stopped back by the apartment to refill our drink bottles, change the baby's diaper, etc--it's just that convenient. The Old North Church is literally 100 steps away. We took the kids to play at all the area playgrounds and felt like locals. We loved the Italian restaurants and bakeries. Cheryl and Carlos, the owners, were wonderful--we emailed them tons of questions and they always responded with quick and helpful information. They even arranged to have the housekeeper bring us a pack and play for the baby. The girls shared the bedroom with the twin beds--it was a bit cramped but they were happy to have their own room, which they don't get when we stay in a hotel! Cheryl sent info about parking, but we found parking on the street for free just a few blocks away for the days we used our rental car to make day trips to Salem, Lexington & Concord, etc, then we turned in our car and used the metro--the girls' first experience with this; they were pros by the time we left. It was a 10 minute walk to the metro stop. It is on the smaller side, but honestly, it was worth that trade off for the location, and it was TONS more room than we would have gotten in a hotel--and we wouldn't have had the kitchen, living room, or a separate bedroom for the girls. It was very well maintained, clean, and had everything we needed for dinners at home, making coffee, etc. It's on a courtyard so you don't have any street noise as well.

The location of this condo was excellent, but the stairs in the building (it's on the 2nd floor) were a bit of a hassle with fully loaded luggage. Shower only (no tub) was a bit small and difficult to move in. Check out time of 10 a.m. was a bit early- wish it would have been 11 or 12 at the latest. Very close to subway system, although we rarely used and opted for walking instead. EXCELLENT communication with owners. Would recommend and stay here again.

Hello world! Two of us (both women in our 50s) stayed at the condo for one week. My daughter (age 25) and a friend stayed for four nights, too. It was comfortable for four. The neighborhood is a wonderful place to stay! We enjoyed the easy walkability to just about every convenience we could imagine. We were amazed at how quiet it seemed here, at least with regard to outside noise. There was a very yippy dog (a neighbor's dog, in this same building), and very noisy furnace / pipe noises, but that's to be expected in such an old building. We had a few challenges with the wireless; we never were able to access the secured wireless, but there was a Linksys strong (unsecured) connection that got us through the week (the connection is very weak and unreliable in one of the bedrooms, but worked fine in the outer rooms). An eclectic collection of household items was here -- more than enough linens and paper supplies (although no tissues, and that t.p. got rough on the nose after a few days -- and we couldn't find anything less than $4 a box for tissues in the local shops). Lots to do from here, easy access to quick transportation, amazingly prompt and professional responses from the unit owner. Given the prices of hotels and other properties in the area, this was a very appreciated option. We could not have afforded to attend the conference without such an option. The two 25 year-olds enjoyed their stay, too. I would consider staying here again. Holly
Owner response:We haven't had problems previously with the internet. It has worked for renters before this. It is a secured connection and has not presented problems for other renters. We did walk them through the steps to connect. The little lap dog next door does acknowledge us when we walk up the stairs, but we have never heard him at other times. We do not furnish Kleenex, so if renters need those, they need to bring their own. Yes, the older buildings with "character" sometimes come with their own personalities and pipe noises, although no one has complained before about furnace noises or pipe noises. It is a central gas furnace and does shut on and off with the cold weather. We are glad you enjoyed your Boston stay and would stay with us again.

We stayed at this condo for 5 days while attending a conference in March of 2010. The condo was comfortable and clean. The location was ideal due to the proximity of the subway and the fabulous restaurants and shops. I would recommend this condo to friends and family.

North end Condo great for foodies!! One block from Mikes Bakery with the best Croissants on the East Coast , minutes from Guilllamos with wonderful pasta if you can handle the wait. The condo is a little hard to find even with a GPS but the courtyard it is housed in is so quiet you would not know you were in a city . Great sleeps and great eats . What more could you ask for ... If you are sightseeing , no better starting place ... .We parked the car and did not use it once.Would use the Condo again on our next visit and are recommending it to friends.

great location for sightseeing, shops & restaurants.Owners very helpful & great advise.Farmers market on Fri & Sat well worth the time to save money on fresh produce Hanover & Blackstone,Quincy market lots of choices for hot food to take back & eat comfortably in your own condo.Rent a car to check out the cape cod areas, especially pilgrim rock, good sea food. For 4 adults the condo was warm & plenty of hot water & we were not in each others way. Very quiet at night, beds very comfortable. We would definitely return .Aquarium subway is the best , if you have a heavy baggage, escalators &elevators.

We would strongly recommend staying at this condo. It was clean and well furnished, and had everything that we needed with a lot of extra conveniences that you could not begin to get in a hotel room. The condo is located in the middle of a residential neighborhood, and we felt very safe and right at home. It is very conveniently located, with fabulous restaurants and bakeries nearby, and public transportation just a short walk away. The condo is also within walking distance to several historical attractions. We would definitely like to stay here again when we return to Boston. The owners, Carlos and Cheryl, were extremely helpful and accommodating, and truly a pleasure to deal with. Thanks again, Cheryl and Carlos!!

We love the North End and had always hoped to stay there. This condo is located in a very quiet courtyard off the beaten path but steps from Hanover or Salem Street. Around the corner on Salem is the Old North Church and up from that is Copps Hill Burying Ground. Around the corner on Hanover are wonderful restaurants, lots of neighborhood people going about their business--it was fun to hear Italian spoken so frequently. For history buffs, foodies, people-watchers this is just a terrific neighborhood. The condo was as described and perfect for our family of two adults and two young adults. The well-equipped kitchen certainly gave it an advantage over a hotel room and the price was equivalent to area hotels if not lower. The condo is within very easy walking distance of the Aquarium, Quincy Market, parking garages and the public transportation system. Carlos was easy to work with and returned our security deposit in a timely fashion. We've rented condos and homes all over the country and this experience was one of the easiest and most rewarding. We recommend this condo highly for a wonderful week or weekend in Boston.

The apartment is all it shows to be as far as location and living area. It was very clean and the owners provide information helpful for the visiting tourist. We had two men with knee problems, but took the stairs slowly. We used taxi, train, tour boat, trolley, and still were able to walk to historic sites and bakeries. Yum!

This rental property was really great - the apartment was very well kept and in a perfect location. For someone who has not visited Boston before, the rental is a couple of blocks away from the Freedom Trail and lots of historic areas. The North End was full of life and we really enjoyed staying there. The owners were easy to work with and always accomodating, and the price is reasonable. I would absolutely recommend this rental property!

I have to say that this has been one of my best places to stay and I tend to travel alot. It was clean, spacious and it had A/C which had to be the best . It got hot and humid the last few days of our stay so those A/C were a life saver.

We spent three nights during the end of August at the Gaskin's condo. My wife, two daughters, and I had a great time. The condo was the perfect size for the four of us and was equipped with everything we needed during our stay. This condo is a fantastic alternative to your "run of the mill" hotel. The North End of Boston is a fantastic neighborhood with more to see than we could accomplish in three days. The Gaskins were great to deal with and we would absolutely rent from them again. Thanks, Jeff and Heather

This was my 1st VRBO experience and I'm happy to report that it's very positive! Carlos and Cheryl Gaskin are exactly what you want in renting property agents/owners. Communication was quick and informative. My wife, son and I enjoyed the 2nd floor walkup condo in an awesome circa 1899 building. The condo was very comfortable and the beds were very cozy. I discovered a couple of fans that came in useful even though the 3 air conditioning units worked great! Everything was clean and very well stocked. It really felt like home away from home! There were a couple of items in the bathroom that required attention but I'm sure the Gaskins were quick to respond to those. As noted in previous reviews, the condo is very well located within walking distance of everything you'd need!

We spent 5 days in 4th Bennet Ct, coming from Paris and really enjoy it. Though the condo is in the very crowdy "Italian suburb", it was very quiet and convenient. Cheryl's tips were really helpful. We highly recommend the place for a nice stay in Boston.
