Why the Owner Chose Dauphin Island
My husband and I have been coming to Dauphin Island since the early 80s for vacations. We finally got the chance to purchase a small home on the island about 10 years ago. Hurricane Katrina totally destroyed it a couple of years ago. But looking at the bright side, we were able to build back exactly the home we had always wanted.

What a wonderful family vacation destination. The house was designed perfectly. Ocean view from the balcony on the main floor level and off the master suite. My 3 year old and almost 1 year old could run/stroll all around the house on the outside deck b/c it was a wrap around! This house gave my 3 year old some freedom, he had his own room where he could set up his trains and play and we let him go outside anytime he wanted as long as he didn't do down to the beach alone. We set up the baby's pack n play in the master closet off the bathroom. It was remote and quiet and she slept like a champ! This was one of the most relaxing vacations I have ever had. THANK YOU! The island isn't crowded and it's a short walk across the street to the bay to fish. A short ferry ride in to Gulf Shores for a day of shopping. The island is excellent for running, be sure to run past the public beach at the east end of the island (7/10 of a mile from the house) where the island was split in 2 by Hurricane Katrina it is magical out there. We will definitely be back next September.

After getting our three kids off to college, my husband and I were looking for a much-needed quiet, relaxing beach-front getaway. Dauphin Island and the Bama Breeze totally delivered! Of all the houses for rent on the island, it is hard to beat the Bama Breeze. It is right on the beach, and though there are some that are slightly closer to the water, you won’t find a better house for the price. The house is perfectly situated on its lot to maximize its views between the houses to the left and right. The upper and lower decks have great views and are nicely cooled by the breezes, even on a hot day. I really appreciated the shade, though there is uncovered deck space for those wishing to be directly in the sun. The main, covered decks face the Gulf, but the side and back decks boast views of bay and the sunset. Plus it is great for star gazing. The house is spacious--big enough for the whole family if we ever decide to bring them with us ;)--and I love the calm, simple, tasteful decor. The cream and blue seaside theme beautifully reflects the sand and sea outside and makes the home just as serene and peaceful on the inside, especially with all the natural lighting afforded by the abundant windows. Additionally, the living room couches were very comfy! I liked the private master bedroom and huge bath upstairs with its own private deck, even though it was just the two of us. It would be even more important with a group downstairs. The house was spotless when we arrived and the kitchen well-stocked. If you are flying in, you might want to look for a house that supplies linens, but since we drove, it was not a problem to bring them along, and likely contributes to the reasonable rent. My only wish is that there would be a set a stairs off the deck heading toward the beach, instead of just the one heading toward the driveway. Would make the walk to the water just a little shorter. That and the sea mist on my glasses were my only complaints—such a rough life!

this was my 2nd trip to dauphin island and it is such a wonderful, relaxing, slow paced, place to get away!! this home is just as it looks in the pictures and is quite comfy! the views from every window is amazing and the waves are in surround sound... my 2 favorites spots in the house was in the kitchen while preparing dinner you look out and see the water, waves, and beach. and the same goes for the master bedroom, as you awake and it's the 1st thing you see...BREATHTAKING!! (the master bedroom with it's deluxe shower with a bench and the HUGE separate tub were also GREAT) LOVE LOVE LOVE YOUR HOME PAUL AND DEBRA, THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR SHARING IT WITH OTHERS!! i will be back....

The "Bama Breeze" was everything advertised and more. The home was very fresh and clean. The layout was extremely spacious and comfortable. The home is situated ON the ocean, go to sleep with the lull of the waves and wake up to the same. A wonderful home on a wonderful island provided us with the perfect getaway! Thank you!
