My wife and I spent 2 weeks at this property and had one of our best vacations ever. The apartment is ideally situated being mid way between Den Haag and Schreveningen and allowed us to walk to the centre of each municipality or hop on a tram and travel cheaply with our Chipcaart. Den Haag is also a good starting point to see many other fascinating cities travelling on the incredibly efficient railways. Trudy met us on our arrival and was always available for advice. She walked with us to the local shopping area and pointed out the best restaurants and stores. However, the apartment is equipped so that one can eat at home as the kitchen is fully stocked and easy to use. The apartment is small by North American standards but fully functional, tastfully decorated and felt like our home away from home. The VRBO descriptions are accurate and the phographs reflect what you expect. It was immaculately clean and we felt welcomed and there were no suprises. We would recommend this apartment to any of our friends who were looking for a great place to base a holiday in the Netherlands and don't want the hurly burly and frenetic tourist atmosphere of Amsterdam, (which is only a short and cheap train ride away.). Trudy is a lovely and accommodating host and will do everything she can to make your holiday memorable.

I just got back from staying in this apartment from June 1-July 25. Everything was as stated. It's in a quiet neighborhood and yet the location is near small-shops shopping. I happen to love going from from the butcher to the baker to the veggie stand and so forth. Nice clothing stores and the like, too. Near trams and buses (and in the Hague, there is little traffic, because most people take public transportation, walk, or bike). Easy walking distance to the ICTY, the Chemical Weapons group, and World Forum. I often did the 45 minute walk to the Peace Palace. But, back to the property. The photos don't do justice to the light in the place and very spacious feel to the living room/dining room. I had five people over for dinner one night and we were fine. The kitchen and bath are small but well done. Bedroom was comfortable. There's a small bonus room that I used for an office and the price includes a very good WiFi. The place was very clean. The addition of live plants and a welcome bouquet of the cut flowers added a hominess to the place. There was just enough in the fridge for me to get started there without going to the grocery store. Also, Trudy was very clear and accurate on the billing; she gives and keeps excellent records for you so that you can turn in any receipts if you are getting reimbursed. Trudy and her business partner gave me (at 11 pm because my flight was hours late, but it was still light) a walking tour of my neighborhood and then drove me around so that I could get oriented to the larger context. I repeated the walking tour the next day, got lost a little, but then the larger tour helped me. I was a confident "go places" person in a couple of days. Trudy gave me written directions for the fastest walk to the Peace Palace and had ideas for local eateries and other needs. There were a few hot nights, so she brought me a fan. Trust me, in the Hague you will rarely need the fan. You will need an umbrella. But the rain made it all the more pleasant to come 'home' to my apartment. My husband joined me for a couple of weeks and he, too, really liked the place. He's decided if we can find apartments as nice as this one, we should just rent for a few weeks rather than get a hotel room. I agree. So, take the plunge. You'll like it.

We found the pictures and the overall description regarding the property to be highly accurate and to our satisfaction. Furthermore, upon our arrival, the apartment was clean and well maintained. The owner was very helpful and concerned in meeting our basic needs, she was also very resourceful in providing information. We definitely recommend this property to our closest friends and dearest relatives. There are certainly many shops nearby, very nice restaurants, and the harbor and the beach, making the property a very great location to be in. In closing, throughout our lifetime we have rented from many properties and they certainly do not compare to our wonderful month long experience with the property.

My husband and I had a lovely stay in the apartment upstairs, which had a small study area. The apartment was nicely decorated (IKEA style modern, clean look) that received plenty of sunlight. It is near shops and cafes as well the beach. The owner was extremely helpful and thoughtful in providing basic items like coffee, tea and even fresh flowers to greet us warmly on our first day. I would highly recommend this place and hope to return again and again.

I rented Trudy's apartment (ground floor ) for almost 3 weeks in March 2011. I was in The Hague for work: at the Yugoslav Tribunal and at the International Criminal Court. Trudy's flat was PERFECT! It is much roomier than I expected (having stayed in hotels in Amsterdam and The Hague, I expected closet-like spaces). The living area is large and airy, with comfortable furniture and a table that functioned well as my 'home desk'. There is a lot of natural light in the apartment. The separate kitchen is fully functional: usable pots and pans, a collection of herbs, salt and pepper, etc. Trudy has thought of everything: all the amenities of a hotel but in a pleasant, welcoming apartment. And did I mention clean? Trudy's family members clean the flat between guests - and they do an outstanding job: I was in my flat the day the flat above me was being cleaned and what an undertaking! Everything is turned upside down and given a very thorough going over. The location of the flat is superb: it is a 15-20 minute walk to the Yugoslav Tribunal; a five minute walk to a great shopping and restaurant area' some of the best Thai food I have eaten in a long while; great cheese, wine and other speciality shops. And I finished each day with a lovely walk on the beach - also nearby! And Trudy is a fabulous host. There were fresh flowers when I arrived and she responded very promptly to any problems that arose. She lives close by; handy but not intrusive. It was wonderful to arrive at a flat where everything has been thought of and provided for.

My cousin and I stayed in Trudy's apartment for a week in November. The photos reflect what it looks like very accurately. It is exceptionally clean and even included coffee, tea, etc. in the kitchen. The kitchen had all the tools one could ever want or need. The furniture is comfortable and welcoming. The location is exceptional. Very near to trams, buses, offering easy access to trains. A grocery store is very nearby, easy walking distance, as are other shops and restaurants. Parking is free and easy to find. Trudy was so incredibly helpful, prior to and during our stay. One of the main reasons we initially chose this property was because of Trudy's honesty, frankness and helpfulness. Both my cousin and I highly recommend this property. The price is very fair based on our research. The neighborhood is safe and enjoyable, well located for touring much of the Netherlands. This was a first rate experience in all regards.

My wife and I did spend a month in this lovely apartment when I stayed in the Hague/Scheveningen while working for an international organisation. My wife did the touristic things. We were welcomed by a charming landlady, it felt like coming home, she was waiting for us with coffee, fresh flowers were on the table and we had a nice conversation. She gave us all kinds of tips and information about the area, so my wife was also happy. The apartment had a lot of usefull information like maps of the area and tourist guides. The photos and description af the apartment and surroundings were very accurate. The location of the apartment, which is situated in a quiet street is excellent, centrally with good connections to the Hague as well as the harbour and beach area. It is located in the lovely Statenkwartier area with the nice "Fred"shopping lane which is very close. We lunched a number of times in the nice restaurants there. The apartment is well equipped, it had everything we needed, more than we expected, it was very clean, well organised and in excellent condition, well maintained. Upon arrival we even found what the lady called a large household package, more than we were used to in other apartments we used to rented earlier. Since we stayed there in the spring and not the summer we could only enjoy the garden a few number of times and enjoy the nice lounge lounge. Since I have to visit the Hague next year again, I definitely hope it will be in Summertime, we already reserved the apartment. We have a lot of experience with other apartments in the Hague since I am a frequent visitor of the Hague and when I compare the rent of this apartment with my experience I can say that it has a very fair price.
