We had a such a memorable 9 days in Scheveningen, even learned to pronouce it correctly! We loved Trudy's apartment......it had everything we needed, even a hairdryer! It looked exactly as it did on the vrbo site. It was very clean and well appointed, even fresh flowers were on the tables when we arrived. The location is terrific as you can walk to some nice restaurants, shops, and the supermarket. It is also close to the tram stop to go into The Hague. The neighborhood is very quiet and safe and you can even walk to the beach. Trudy is very helpful and goes out of her way to make sure your stay is completely enjoyable. We would definitely recommend this apartment to our friends and we hope to return someday in the future. We feel like we have a friend in Scheveningen.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.

We used this property as a base for three weeks of business and vacation travel in Sept. It was an all-round positive experience. The description and photos are accurate, the property is clean and the owner, Trudy, is helpful without being intrusive. Her "walk-about" orientation on arrival is a bonus. The location of this property in The Hague was even better than we thought with easy access by foot to the great shops, cafes and restaurants on "The Fred", a well-known street for shopping and browsing. A short tram ride (#17) takes you to the historic centre of the city and, in the other direction of the apartment, a 10-15 minute walk away is the beach at Scheveningen with a range of restaurants and superb beach for walking. We took Trudy's advice and got OV Chip cards for easy train, tram & bus access. We made the most of the very efficient transportation system. This property met all of our expectations. We would not hesitate to recommend it. Also, The Hague is a delightful city-- definitely a hidden gem. Re art & museums: The Maurithuis Collection is currently housed at the Gemeentemuseum (Municipal Museum) a short walk from the apt.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+.

We loved our "home" in Scheveningen! The entire apartment was beautiful, very clean and very well stocked with everything we needed to live well for the week and beyond. We were comfortable in every room and enjoyed morning coffee and evening cocktails on the private garden patio. The washer and dryer came in quite handy as well! This apartment is quiet most always with the occasional sounds of life outside. The location is convenient and centrally located to everything you may need or want. Markets, coffee shops, restaurants, art museums, shopping and of course, the beach of the North Sea! Trudy the owner, welcomed us upon arrival with a bright, warm smile and gave us a tour of the apartment which included a gorges bouquet of fresh flowers! Needles to say we will be back!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

Modern, clean, well-appointed and very typically Dutch ground floor apartment with beautiful small garden in a lovely and quiet residential neighbourhood. The information and photos supplied on the website are accurate and representative of the rental property. The apartment is very conveniently located; a fifteen-minute walk to the beach, a ten-minute walk to a full-service grocery store, ten minutes to the Frederik Hendriklaan shopping district and a few minutes walk to major tram and bus lines that can have you in the centre of town in 15 minutes. My family and I spent two weeks in the apartment and would recommend it to our friends. We would rent it again if the opportunity arose.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We recently spent a delightful 8 day/night experience at Trudy's 2nd floor apartment. We definitely found all aspects of the description and photo presentation to be accurate, in fact our expectations were much more than exceeded. We were immediately impressed with appearance, condition and CLEANLINESS. Per prior confirmation, Trudy was not available for our "check in", however were welcomed by her associate Nick de Reus, who was most congenial and helpful. Both Nick and Trudy offered good advice on local eateries, shops, beach, harbour and attractions. My wife had expressed a desire to experience the "real Netherlands lifestyle" and we certainly were not dissapointed. We found the area safe, quiet, convenient to public transportation, shops, resturaunts, highway network. We did have a rental car, finding parking at times an adventure, but not impossible. Trudy was very helpful in whatever we needed, even making an excellent overnight out of town reservation for us. We would have no hesitation to fully recommend Trudy, Nick and their accomodations to friends, relatives and acquaintenances. Given opportunity to return at a later date we would definitely consider renting from Trudy again. We had a wonderful time and a GREAT NETHERLANDS EXPERIENCE!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My wife and I spent three and one-half months in the apartment rented from Trudy and Nick. It was an exceptional experience. The apartment was spotless and comfortable, with flowers to welcome us upon our arrival.. Nick and Trudy gave us excellent information to navigate our way about The Hague; and they were immediately available if we had any questions. We cooked many of our meals in the kitchen and found everything we needed there. And, we loved the bed so much, we are planning on purchasing the same mattress for our home. Many a winter evening we spent snug in the apartment, reading and knitting. Life does not get much better. We also used the apartment as a base to explore the Hague. It was a short walk to a beautiful shopping area that provided all of our needs (including even phones!). Every week we bought wonderful fresh flowers on this picturesque street, along with wonderful fruits and vegetables and cheese. The apartment was also a short walk from the tram line to downtown the Hague. This, of course, connected to the train station, which was the gateway to all of Europe. Finally, the apartment was a ten-minute walk to the North Sea. Unbelievable beaches, restaurants, and fish joints were all within reach. We were so thrilled with this apartment, we plan to return as soon as we can. We give it our highest recommendation.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

We spent two lovely weeks in this apartment during April, the height of the tulip season, and enjoyed every day of our visit. The ground-floor apartment is spacious and perfectly clean; the kitchen was well equipped with every detail covered, even salt and pepper seasonings. The local grocery market is only 5 or 6 blocks away, as is the harbor/dock area with fine seafood restaurants and friendly bars. Our hostess was available at check-in/out to show us how everything worked and even provided fresh flowers and an electric plug adapter so we could charge our PC.The neighborhood was friendly and warm, with several good restaurants including a Michelin-recommended French bistro and a wonderfully warm Thai/Asian venue within 5 minutes' walking distance.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

This is the second year that we have rented the garden apartment from Trudy, the most welcoming and considerate host you can imagine. The apartment is stylish, beautifully kept and spotless, and all travelers' needs are met. All rooms are light-filled and large windows lead to a charming walled-in garden with seating for outdoor dining, weather permitting. All equIpment is in perfect working order, and brief walks take you to either the yacht harbor or to the fine shops of Statenkwartier. We hope to return for many more visits.Recommended for: Tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My wife and I spent 2 weeks at this property and had one of our best vacations ever. The apartment is ideally situated being mid way between Den Haag and Schreveningen and allowed us to walk to the centre of each municipality or hop on a tram and travel cheaply with our Chipcaart. Den Haag is also a good starting point to see many other fascinating cities travelling on the incredibly efficient railways. Trudy met us on our arrival and was always available for advice. She walked with us to the local shopping area and pointed out the best restaurants and stores. However, the apartment is equipped so that one can eat at home as the kitchen is fully stocked and easy to use. The apartment is small by North American standards but fully functional, tastfully decorated and felt like our home away from home. The VRBO descriptions are accurate and the phographs reflect what you expect. It was immaculately clean and we felt welcomed and there were no suprises. We would recommend this apartment to any of our friends who were looking for a great place to base a holiday in the Netherlands and don't want the hurly burly and frenetic tourist atmosphere of Amsterdam, (which is only a short and cheap train ride away.). Trudy is a lovely and accommodating host and will do everything she can to make your holiday memorable.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.
