We stayed there for 5 days and I have to say by far that was the most amazing time I have ever spent in Beaufort,or for that matter ever. We could not have asked for a better place to stay. Everything I imagined this place to be was that much and more. The owners of the property went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable. They told us of the rich history of Beaufort as well as anything they knew about the local places to go to eat and things to do. The downstairs Beach Bar was most enjoyable and extremely entertaining. I highly recommend this place for anyone. We are already in the process of booking for next summer!

Nice seperate apartment with all you need for a relaxing vacation on a low-traffic beach. My wife and I, with large dog, had a great time at this spot. Most neighbors were gone during the week, allowing for a beautiful, peaceful time. Cast-netting for shrimp was good, just stay away from the oyster beds, and it'll be fine.

We stayed at this cottage for Labor Day week and had a great time. It is a few steps to the sound which is fabulous for awesome sunrises; midday laying in the sun; and superb star-gazing at night. This place is quiet, affordable and convenient for any vacationer. We wish it was ours! Thank you so much to the owners for a great week of relaxing and experiencing some of the best that the sea islands have to offer. Tips for those who may stay here: swimming is great at high- mid tide on the sound beach; try the eateries in Beaufort downtown; remember to bring your bug spray when visiting the area; HUnting island is great for sand dollar seekers after high tide; and the local shrimp at Barefoot Farms are very fresh, big, and delicious and only $6.00 per pound.

My wife and I just enjoyed two delightful weeks here in late June and early July. We are kayakers and kept our boats right at the beach dune for frequent exploration on the sound and in tidal creeks. Swimming is best at mid to high tide. We strolled the very clean and quiet beach at all tides. You can wander over 1.5 miles in one direction and about half that the other and might not see another person. We delighted in meeting the locals and their laid-back cats and dogs. The sound is home to abundant marine and bird life of which we have many pictures. The local roads and lanes are canopied with trees and Spanish Moss and are little trafficked for quiet and scenic walks or bike rides. A local horse farm rents steeds which are allowed on the beach. We also frequented Hunting Island SP to swim and gather shark teeth and other fossils on the beach. Beaufort, Frogmore and Port Royal offer a great variety of book shops, art galleries, museums, ice cream and well kept historical homes and churches. We ate out a few times from simple to an elegant anniversary dinner. All of it delicious. The local roadside produce markets were overflowing with ripe bounty that we combined with fresh seafood for equally tasty fare. We used both outdoor charcoal grill (left by previous guest) and indoor kitchen. The owners are nearby for assistance and are very kind and gracious hosts. They offer a superb place with spectacular views at bargain rates. We took the option on the Beachfront Bar which provided a second fridge and convenient storage for beach and boat gear. The main upstairs area has great water and sunrise views. We often kept the windows open to enjoy the cooling breeze and salt air. We used the supplied beach chairs and umbrella located just steps from the beach. We already have the calendar out to plan our next getaway here.

Beautiful and secluded

Having lived in Beaufort before I thought I knew the best places on the islands, but this visit I found beautiful seclusion. The accommodations are perfect for one and maybe up to three or four, but might get crowed with more than that. The apartment was spotless and had a fully equipped kitchen. The vaulted ceilings and ceiling fans lent to the ambiance. Leaving the windows open at night, you can hear the lapping water from the incoming tide. Stepping out onto the small entrance deck, the view is of lush greenery that leads way to the waterfront. The beach is beautiful with white sands, oyster and clam shells, and sea oats. Each of my visits on the beach I only encountered the occasional person gathering oysters at low tide and several times riders on horses. The beach is not a swimmers beach due to the oyster shoals, but perfect for lying around reading your favorite novel. It is located between beautiful waterfront houses and only a short drive to Lady's Island and downtown Beaufort. You can view Harbor Island from the beach and it is only a short distance to Hunting Island. I enjoyed myself completely and plan to visit again.

Our family of four spent three nights in this garage loft apartment and we were enchanted with the place. The lot is beautifully wooded and great for bird watching. The beach is scenic and makes for a lovely stroll. Hunting Island is only a short drive away, for swimming and hiking. Be sure to stop at the Shrimp Shack for a shrimp burger. The apartment is furnished with a mini-kitchen and two bar stools at a 12" counter. There's no dining area, so don't plan to cook elaborate meals. There are horse stables nearby. The apartment is pet friendly.
