Year Purchased: 2006
My wife and our dog Samson love the Smith River recreational area. We come out to our vacation home to relax and read a book in the sun room, on the shaded deck, or on the hammock under the grape arbor. But I can't sit still for too long, so I get out on one of the many hikes in the area, whether it be along the North Fork of the Smith River or on the cliffs above the Pacific Ocean.
I enjoy many other recreational activities in the area, mountain biking, white water kayaking, ocean kayaking, windsurfing, surfing, and sailing.
Why the Owner Chose Gasquet
I bought this property because of my love of the clean clear waters of the Smith river and my desire to kayak on such a beautiful wild river. There are three forks of the Smith river, from easy to very challenging.
The Unique Benefits of this House
The home offers a wide variety of activities to enjoy, both indoors and outdoors. Outdoor activities include volleyball, badminton, horseshoes, croquet, and a basketball hoop, as well as access to the Middle Fork of the Smith River. Indoor activities include ping pong, a huge collection of videos for your viewing pleasure, a book exchange, and a collection of board games, from Cranium to Twister. There is also a booster seat for toddlers as well as many books for children.

I stayed in this beautiful home for a week last summer and absolutely loved it. The home is extremely comfortable and well equiped. The yard is great and would be perfect for families with children and pets. This area of California is really beautiful with a lot of diverse activities available. I highly recommend this property as a vacation destination. Jim Turner

This is a great vacation spot. My family and I spent a wonderful holiday here. A huge yard that backs up to the river. Quiet and spacious. My wife and I stayed with my parents and we never got in the way of each other. Beach is close and there is some great hiking close by. Home was clean and has everything you need. Even has a ping pong table for the kids or rainy lazy days!

Beautiful, clean and large house. Wonderful location, plenty of shade in the summer and a spacious back yard. I love the sun room and beautiful river access. High on my list of places to return too!
