Year Purchased: 2000
We are native Alabamians- Alunda was born and raised in Hunstville; Joe in Perry County, Alabama. After Alunda graduated from Judson College, and Joe from Auburn, we moved to Tallassee, Alabama where we raised our family (son-Joey, and daughter- Beth), while we both worked for, and ultimately retired from, the Tallassee City School System. While Joe was teaching, he attended law school at night, was admitted to the Alabama Bar, and continues the private practice of law.
We enjoy our children (both married), our son-in-law, and daughter-in-law, and one grandchild, our Church, and going to the ONLY beach- Ft. Morgan!
Why the Owner Chose Homes, Single Family
The Fort Mornan area reminds us of how Gulf Shores was thirty (30) years ago- prior to the proliferation of condos. Ft. Morgan is a quiet, peaceful place to relax and enjoy the pristene white sandy beach, salt air, and ever-present Gulf breezes; a communicty of single-family homes; with get neighbors and friends.
The Unique Benefits of this House
"Wastin' Away" is a short walk to the beach- the street (Bearnard Court East) actually dead ends onto the beach- there is no cutting through other property owner's yards, or walking down the beach front road east or west to access the "public" areas. The Gulf and Bay views can be enjoyed from the front deck. Since the house is located about a 1/4 mile away from the marina, and less than a mile from the Ft. Morgan historic site wuith public boat launch and fishing pier, there are a lot of fishing and boating activities available- we enjoy shrimping and fishing in Mobile Bay.

Absolutely Magnificent!!! Spacious family dwelling for a week of fun in the sun and beach activity. This place is clean and well maintained. About 100 yards to the beach. I've sayed at many vacations spots but this place should be a 5 Star Plus on the scale for its location and value. I'll definately be back to Wastin Away. MHJ
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, sightseeing, age 55+.
