A mix between a comfortable relax in a tiny village and a 10 km drive from a town rich in history and events all year around like Lucca. It is a twofold experience where you can really choose when and how to enjoy Tuscany food, wine and life and when relax in comfort

"Il Nido" is a charming stone house in the center of the beautiful Lucca hill-town of Aquilea (translates to "where eagles fly"). It is a tower-style house where each room is on one floor with a spiral staircase to connect them, all restored with tasteful decòr. There are 2 bedrooms, a lovely library-style seating area and well-appointed full kitchen and full bathroom.

"Il Nido" is centrally located for convenient day trips to Lucca (15 minutes), Pisa and the sea-side beaches of Viareggio (30 minutes), Montecatini, the famous spa town,(40 minutes). You can drive your car to the Lucca train station and from there, it is a pleasant hour by train to the Florence station in the center of town, thereby avoiding traffic and parking problems. It is are about an hour and 15 minutes from Siena or a scenic 1 hour drive to the splendid Cinque Terre.

A suggestion: ask Wanda to cook for you a special dinner to eat on the Nido's terrace or simply to make for you hand-made pasta, pizza, Tuscan soups or Lucca's green cake ... probably you will ask her again!
