Laie offers life in an unspoiled part of Hawaii that remains very Polynesian in culture (i.e. very warm and friendly). The Polynesian Cultural Center, Oahu's most visited attraction, and the Mormon Temple is just 1/2 mile up the road.
Enjoy your Hawaiian vacation in this 2005-built home on one of Hawaii's most beautiful and private beaches. Away from the road, this quiet home offers a totally relaxing atmosphere with great ocean views from upper and lower decks. We have a nice dining area, but the best meals are enjoyed on the decks overlooking the ocean.
The large, white sandy beach stretches for 2 miles along a tropical shoreline flanked by the trees from the Kakela Beach Park.
Our beach is protected by a reef so the water is calm year-round. You'll find great snorkeling to the right of our house with dozens of different fish and colorful coral formations. To the left a shallow, sandy-bottom ocean floor and calm water makes for great swimming fun.
The "Alligator Pond" is a local favorite with children. Kids 1-10 can play in the water for hours and see small fish swimming around them.

This home was exactly what we were looking for. It was located perfectly just 5 minutes from BYU-Hawaii, the Laie Temple, and the PCC. Also, the perfect view from the perfect deck tells it all. You look from the deck over a 50 yard grass area (perfect for throwing a football) and then you are on the beach! Sandy and with very few, if any, other visitors. Wow, your own Hawaiian beach, and this one is clean! We were there in November, so the waves were perfect for boogie boarding! The kids loved it! SOOO much to do on the North Shore... we loved the true Hawaiian life style with just a couple days visit in Honolulu. Remember you are in natural Hawaii, so roosters roam freely so be ready for some cocking! Also, if you have a favorite pillow, bring it along. We had ten in our group... it was a perfect fit.

Our stay on the North Shore was wonderful, everything about the property was as listed. We especially enjoyed the large deck, and it was unexpectedly nice to have the park behind the house, so we could enjoy crossing it to the beach (not far at all), and also wash the sand off in the process, at the water spigot. The beach had a good mix of sandy swimming, and rocky exploring/snorkeling, if you walked down just a little way to either side of the house. We enjoyed meeting people in the mornings as we walked along the beach. The house is comfortable, and it was especially nice to be back from the road a little way. Close to all the fun in Laie. The neighbors and cleaning lady were especially helpful and nice. Good communication from the owners as well.

You certainly did not overbill the upside of this place. It is comfortable, convenient, and I don't think the kids will ever forget it. One highlight is the neighbor boy Sione from Tonga. He taught the kids how to husk a coconut, catch fish, and brought a rooster over. He explained all the fruit trees, the Noni, breadfruit, papaya, etc. That boy deserves a commission. It has been just beautiful, and the beach is very child friendly like you said. Thanks again for an unforgettable family vacation. I've already recommended this rental home to numerous friends and family. The "suggested attractions" information you provided was also invaluable. Dealing with the owner was pleasant and straightforward - I feel like we got a great deal. Thank you.

We stayed here in mid October 2010. Very comfortable, plenty of room, and loved the deck! The beach was beautiful and not a lot of people. However, the time of year we went the waters were a little too rough for kids to swim. Located right off the Hwy in a Residential area. Loved the North Shore!
