Our newly renovated villa is perfectly located in beautiful Shipyard plantation. It is one of the units at the front of Beachwalk which has the closest proximity to the plantation beach access. It is less than a five minute walk to the beach all on a nicely shaded path. Or on those lazy days you can pick up the golf cart right outside the villa and take the free ride to the best beach on the island. The community pool is only a two minute walk for those days when you don’t want to get any more sand or waves and it has both shaded and sunny lounge chairs as well as a nice picnic/seating area.
Shipyard is a private residential resort community with 24 hour security. The recreational choices on site include miles of recreational paths for walking or biking, 27 championship golf holes as well as tennis at the well known Van der Meer Racquet Club which is located directly across the street from our villa. The plantation is conveniently located mid-island so if you choose to venture out it has great access to all of the dining, shopping and entertainment both on and off island. The Crowne Plaza Resort is also right across the street for convenient access to dinner and drinks without the drive.
Our villa is a two bedroom, two and a half bath in a townhouse layout. This puts the two permanent sleeping areas upstairs and the main living area on the first floor. The separation of the sleeping quarters allows for the early birds in your group to enjoy their morning without disturbing those who may want to sleep in a bit. Also you have no worries about heavy footsteps from an upstairs neighbor because you won’t have one! The villa also has two separate eating areas including a sunny breakfast nook that seats four and a full dining area which can easily handle six adults.
The master suite has all new furnishings (as does the entire condo) including a king sized bed. The dual sink feature on the master has one sink within the bath and a second just outside in the bedroom to make it very comfortable to get ready for the evening events at the same time. The guest room has two twin beds and also has a private full bath inside the room. The washer and dryer are conveniently located between the two bedrooms in the upstairs hallway.
The rear of the condo has a brand new split level wood deck with a fully integrated shade tree (the deck is build right around the trunk). So you can relax in the outdoors and watch the day pass by as the many turtles, birds and the occasional alligator (don’t worry the lagoon has a nice high railroad tie wall so the non-flying wildlife cannot get up the bank on our side of the lagoon) provide a nice show.
The city no longer legally permits grills in any Beachwalk condo and please no smoking in our condo.
We fell in love with Hilton Head Island and especially Shipyard plantation nearly 20 years ago.
