Fox Woods is an upscale home featuring 3500 beautiful square feet of comfort and luxury in a romantic setting. Ideal for couples to share or a family vacation with extented family under one roof.

This lovely retreat is located in Northwest Lower Michigan. The home is in a pristine area in the middle of the woods, perched on a hill, overlooking the beautiful crystal clear waters of Green Lake! It is in a one of a kind location. You will not wake to the drone of jet ski's or power boats on this private lake.
Construction completed in February of 2008, professionally appointed and comfortable, it is one of 11 homes on nearly 300 acres that are bountiful with wildlife. You will routinely see Deer, Fox, or if you are lucky a Bald Eagles plucking fish from the lake.
This property enjoys year round activities, You and the kids can enjoy fishing from the dock or one of the boats on shore, hours of fun. There are loads of Bass, Panfish and Rainbow Trout.
There are boats available for your enjoyment. A paddle boat, row boat and 2 kayaks. They are located at the waters edge, we have 4 life vests for children up to 50lbs. Bring extra if you need more.
We are 10 minutes from Lake Bellaire, Torch Lake, Clam Lake or countless other small recreational lakes. If you want to rent a boat, there are multiple boat rental places in the area. We will provide information for you.
Fox Woods is a quick 3.5 hour drive from Metro Detroit to the door or 30 min from Cherry Capital Airport, Traverse City.
Fox Woods is private and is the perfect vacation spot if what you are truly seeking is rest, relaxation and tranquility is a safe gated area...where you can enjoy the surroundings that only beautiful Northern Michgan can offer.

If you crave city night life, take your choice you can take a 30 min scenic ride to Traverse City or Petosky and enjoy casino gambling, live entertainment and fine dining or there is also LuLu's and Jack Fiddlers, 5 star restaurants 10 minutes away in quaint Bellaire. Short's Brewery on Main Street, the Bellaire Bar, is a beer & burger joint that is one of our favorites and that of the locals and finally Toonie's a family style restaurant that has a full bar, at affordable prices.
We can't forget to mention some cute little shops for shopping, a movie theater with the latest films and indoor miniature golf for the kids. If you want a grown up night out...we can refer reliable babysitters in the area.
If you are up to cooking or grilling, you can find all the ingredients for meal preparation at Glen's Market in town (either Bellaire or Mancelona, we prefer the Bellaire store for wider selections) and test drive the gourmet kitchen!

In winter...
You can enjoy your snow machines on the miles and miles of trails. Antrim County allows snow machines on the shoulder of the roads to enjoy the area or to get to trail heads. There is secure parking on the property for your machines.
Ski Northern Michigan at Shuss Moutain which is a stone's throw away. Boyne and Nub's Knob are a 30 minute drive. Cross Country skiing or Snowshoeing are right outside the door!

Pat and I are a few years away from retirement...and this is the place we want to retire to. We built the home with that goal. This was a collaboration of ideas each of us had in our head of what our "Dream Home" was. After two years of planning and tweaking, we think we got it right. Visit...and let us know what you think!
Why the Owner Chose Mancelona
Pat had been coming to this area for years and when we met, introduced me to a side of Northern Michigan I had never seen. We decided that we would like to live up here and we actually found this lake by accident...it is remarkable that it is pristine and unspoiled. It is true wilderness located 10-15 min from anything we need in lovely Bellaire. You will probably not find a more peaceful spot...there are no jet ski's or motor boat droning on the lake as it is electric motors or hand carry craft only.
Recently we opened a business here. A Pet Resort, Google! Meadowpond Pet Resort to see our little place!
The Unique Benefits of this House
Total relaxation in the middle of the woods, secluded but near enough to civilization when we need a fix. Peace and quiet, we are inspired every time you out the window. Hummingbirds visiting the feeders are a common occurance as are Eagles, Deer and once a Bear was seen 'bathing' at the dock. It is beautiful all year round, no matter what the weather is like!

If you're used to going up north to the cottage, this will blow you away! The attention to detail put into this house is amazing. We had 4 generations of family there at one time and all age groups had a fabulous time. The kids loved Kayaking and fishing and the adults loved lounging on the deck, and there are many things to do within a short drive. The owners went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed to have a wonderful time. The only disappointing part was having to leave…but we will definitely be returning in the future!

03/08/10 Positive Rating Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Fox Woods Lodge. We had 6 kids, 4 parents and a grandma and we had a blast. The kids loved fishing, kayaking, and using the paddle boat. We went to the Sleeping Bear Dunes, Torch Lake, Traverse City, and Shanty Creek. When we weren't traveling around we enjoyed the beautiful Fox Woods Lodge and its peaceful surroundings. The house is just gorgeous and had everything we could ever dream of. My husband and I were looking for a place to get away and unwind for a weekend. We were very happy with our stay at Fox Woods. It is beautiful and very clean. It is a large home, but still has a warm, comfortable feel.

Our family spent a wonderful week at Fox Woods over the holidays. We were taken back by how beautiful everything was from the setting to the decorating. Extremely comfortable & inviting! We had a large group with plenty of room to spare. Our kids enjoyed the hills in the neighborhood as well as Shanty Creek which was a short drive away. The fireplace was used constantly as gathering place for morning coffee, good books, & games. We hope you don't retire soon as we would like to come back! Thanks for sharing your home!!

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful home with us. We needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of our lives, and Foxwoods was the perfect place to do that. There was plenty of room for more than just the two of us, yet it still felt warm and cozy. Your home was extremely clean and comfortable as well. Although the temperature of your home always felt just right, the natural fireplace was wonderful to sit next to and relax on those frigid nights. We would love to come back with our whole family some time soon.
