This Beach Road home has unobstructed views of Belvedere Cove, Raccoon Strait, Angel Island, Corinthian Island and the Bay Bridge. The large deck in front is a special place to enjoy the views and the water activity below. Very few views like it, even in Belvedere. The house itself is approx 2000 sq. feet, and was originally built in the 1880's. It is now essentially modern (1970's), with a large living room and master bedroom. Kitchen has Wolf cooktop; brand new Lynx gas grill. The property is on a hillside, with stairs leading to access from both above and below. It is a short distance to parks, ferry to San Francisco and 10 minute walk to all the services that downtown Tiburon has to offer.
Belvedere Island
Belvedere Island, in San Francisco Bay, was once connected to mainland Marin County by two roads built on sand bars that could only be seen at low tide. Incorporated in 1896, the hilly island was where well-to-do city residents built country estates in the late-19th and early-20th centuries.
Now connected to the mainland, Belvedere is a tiny enclave with narrow winding roads, less than one square mile in size, surrounded on three sides by the waters of San Francisco Bay. The population of just over two thousand are clustered in three neighborhoods: Belvedere Island, Belvedere Lagoon, and Corinthian Island. The terrain is predominantly hilly and lush; many residences were designed by famous architects and/or are considered historically significant. There are spectacular views of San Francisco, Angel Island, the Golden Gate Bridge, Sausalito, and Mt. Tamalpais, but no public beach or boat launching area.
The weather in Belvedere is extraordinary. Coastal breezes keep the air fresh and clear and the temperatures moderate all year; the average low in January is 42.9 degrees, the average high in July only 74.9. 260 days a year are mostly sunny.
Views
The large deck off of the living room offers spectacular water views, including boating, waterfowl and sea life. The deck is sunny and private.
Location
The house is sited in the middle of the lot with access from the garage above or egress below to the street leading to Belvedere Park, all the shopping and services in Tiburon and the ferry boat to San Francisco.
Note: You must be able to climb a significant number of stairs to reach the house.

Why the Owner Chose Belvedere
Our family bought this house as a second home last year. Our other home is in San Francisco, and we love the fact that our trip to the "weekend house" is only 30 minutes door to door. We feel like we've had a vacation every time we have been to the house.
The Unique Benefits at this House
View, view, view! Walking, cycling and boating is great. 10 minute walk to Tiburon, a great little town where you can sit out on restaurant decks. We can buzz in and out of the city as often as we want, which is especially important with a 17 year old child!
