Beautiful Family Vacation Compound on exquisite Glen Lake.
Location: Glen Arbor, Michigan USA (22 miles from Traverse City, in the heart of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Park and the National Lakeshore.
2 homes and Separate Rec Room building, 4 bedrooms, 1 sleeping loft (sleeps 7), Rec room also has sleeping loft (sleeps 4). 5 full bathrooms plus fabulous outdoor shower. The entire compound can sleep 16. 125 feet of lake frontage with sand beach, two separate decks, and private dock. Two full kitchens, and 2 grills.
This spectacular property offers a private and unique place to experience Glen Lake and the magnificent surrounding areas. We are pleased to be able to share the Glen Lake experience with others.
The Beach cottage is original to the property, which has been fully updated with much of its original charm retained. It is bright, airy and comfortable. It features beautiful views of Glen Lake from its vaulted ceiling living room, clad in traditional pine. The dining area seats 16 and is great for family dinners. A fabulous master suite with its own deck and luxury bath has a beautiful view of the lake. The second bedroom and bathroom are also beautifully decorated. The kitchen is fully equipped and can turn out meals for a large crowd. The home is handicapped equipped. The nearby wrap around deck also allows for evening dinners outside with the family. Both bedrooms have queen beds. The cottage also has a washer, dryer, flat screen TV, DVD & VCR.
The second home is an exquisite chalet with contemporary flair with a beautiful view of Glen Lake. It features 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms with a queen bed and twin beds in the bedrooms. The upstairs sleeping loft sleeps seven and can be divided by a privacy curtain. The Chalet has beautiful cherry hardwood floors. The living room features comfy chairs, sofa, TV,DVD & VCR. It is decorated with flair and art. The Chalet is equipped with a full kitchen and also has its own deck and grill.
The outdoor shower is truly an experience not to be missed. It is connected to a tankless water heater so the shower always has hot water. It's great after a long day at the beach.
The Rec Room is a separate building, was designed to be a playground for children and teens. It features a large screen TV, DVD & VCR, ping pong table, game table, sofa and chairs. Sleeping loft that sleeps 4. The building has a full bath, washer, dryer and a refrigerator. It is perfect for those rainy days, ping pong tournaments and is stocked with board games.
The sand beach is a beautiful place to lie in the sun and enjoy Glen Lake. The lake bottom is sandy and is shallow near shore, and gradually gets deeper. Glen Lake is known for its beautiful turquoise color. The dock has a deck to sit out with family & friends and offers the perfect star gazing platform. Glen Lake is an all sports lake. The cottages come equipped with three sit on top kayaks.
The property features high speed wireless internet, fax and land lines.
The area offers many and varied fun things to do and see.
The Leelanau Peninsula is made up of rolling hills and valleys, farms and orchards with charming towns and inland lakes surrounded by beautiful Lake Michigan.
Sleeping Bear Dunes is 10 minutes away
A must, is climbing the Sleeping Bear Dunes dune climb. Besides the exercise, the view at the top is of Big and Little Glen Lakes. It is breathtaking.
Biking
The interior roads of the Peninsula have well paved roads with little traffic making perfect for road biking. A 5 min. ride by bike from the property to Glen Arbor. For the more avid biker a ride around Glen Lake.
Stocking Drive part of the Lake Michigan National Lakeshore park system offers a spectacular drive through the national park offering various turnouts offering views of the beauty of the park and a great place to view the sunset over Lake Michigan.
Pyramid Point and Empire Bluffs
These two destinations offer hiking and views of Lake Michigan and the North and South Manitou Island that are world class. Novice hikers can make the trek with no problem.

Glen Arbor has retained its small town feel and its family orientation. There are quaint shops, galleries, a great bookstore, a fabulous and unique gardening store, and many restaurants from family to fine dining, two great pizza places and a gym. There is an excellent grocery store and Barbs Bakery and Farmers Market featuring fresh produce daily.
Art’s Tavern deserves its own special mention. Arts offers a great time, good food and drink, breakfast, lunch and dinner and after dinner fun. The burgers are great, the soup and desserts are great and it’s very kid friendly (tater tots). It features Glen Arbor’s only pool table that comes out of the floor at night. The décor is uh shall we say funky and unique.
