Relax in our peaceful Oceanfront Kehena home! Decorated Island style (non smoking inside)with 2 bedrooms and 1 full bath with a fully equipped kitchen.(King bed in Master and Queen bed in Guest bedroom) Just bring your bag and toothbrush and enjoy yourself. Oh, bring your binoculars! Whale watching season begins Oct 15 - May 15. Just breath taking! They have been spotted within 40ft from the Hale O Kehena. Don't forget the heart warming spinner dolphins that play year round in the ocean off the back of the property and down at the black sand beach!
Are the temperatures dropping? Kehena is beautiful year round. Like many of our Hawaiian Islands it can rain at any given moment only to open to sunny skies the next.
Let yourself relax to the sound of the ocean waves crashing while listening to Hawaiian music. Have a BBQ or make exotic drinks in the blender. Sun, or swim at black sands of Kehena, known for dolphin encounters and is only a 1 minute walk from the house. Go down early and be the first to leave your footprints in the sand. There is a warm water pond and tide pools near by.
Hale O Kehena is located south of Hilo (35 miles) and approximately a 40 minute drive to our amazing Volcano National Park. North is the lushness of the water falls and greenery. South are fields of magical lava. If you go around the Island you will find rain forest, dry Kona, or wet Waimea. Shopping at Waikoloa or quaint Hawi.
You can horseback, ride ATV's, rent a Harley, fish, swim, dive, eat, sleep, shop, sight see, tour our caves, go on nature hikes, go to a museum, watch molten lava. The list is endless. So much to see, so little time, such a "Big Island"!
