Mousam Lake is one of the best fishing lakes in Southern Maine. Enjoy year-round comfort while vacationing here at your home away from home. The cottage has new knotty-pine walls, new windows and screens, and a Monitor heating system. It is available year round with two floors of living capacity.
The first level is all one room completely carpeted. This open living space consist of the fully-equipped kitchen and a large living room with two sliding glass doors looking out onto the waters' edge and a brick fireplace to warm your feet and spirits after a cold outdoor adventure. The second floor, has four bedrooms, two with double-size beds, one with two sets of bunk beds and one with two twin beds. There is also a full bath.
The waterfront is located on a peaceful and quiet cove on lower Mousam Lake. The cove is ideal for fishing but not for swimming. Swimming is a short 2 minute walk to a small private beach or a short drive to a public beach. Mousam Lake is divided into Upper Mousam (approximately five miles long) and Lower Mousam (two miles long). Boats travel freely through a channel connecting Upper Mousam to Lower Mousam. We have a sundeck on the waters' edge and a dock that receives sun all day and provides a great fishing spot.
We have a horseshoe pit, a canoe, a picnic table, yard furniture, a gas barbecue grill, and a registered rowboat (you bring your motor). Our dock has ample space for your boat and jet skiis. There is a store on the lake, Acton Trading Post, where Upper and Lower Mousam connect for gas, purchase of permits, supplies, groceries, liquor, and dinner.
