Acadia View is located on a quiet dead end, convenient to the shops and restaurants of downtown Bar Harbor and to the beauty of Acadia National Park - only about a half mile to either. A free shuttle is available in both directions.
The layout is modern with a breakfast island between kitchen and den, full kitchen with dishwasher, wireless internet connection, cable TV, DVD player, and full laundry. Outside, there is a sun deck and a large lawn with picnic table and gas grill. We furnish linens, towels, dishes, pans, detergents, and paper products - about everything except toothbrushes!
Hike, bike, swim, sail, kayak, whale-watch, drive through National Park and quaint villages or tour by glider or airplane, golf, experience the oceanarium, cinemas, cabarets, lobster restaurants and other cuisine, fall foliage, fine crafts, art galleries, and friendly shopkeepers. Discover ocean boating of all varieties: slow sunset sails, guided sea kayaking, trips on lobster boats or video-dive boat, and private charters.

Year Purchased: 1997
I owned shops in Bar Harbor for more than a generation. When I sold them, I invested the proceeds in houses to serve as vacation rentals. I thought that I was retiring. In fact, I was simply moving from a business that I knew well into one that was new to me! After ten years in the rental biz, I've got the hang of it. And I enjoy it!
Why the Owner Chose Bar Harbor
When I arrived on Mount Desert Island--with its reputation as the most beautiful island in America--I knew immediately that I wanted to live here. I rented in a number of locations around Bar Harbor before buying this property, which is on the edge of the bustling downtown and equally close to Acadia National Park.
