An open staircase leads to the loft where you can enjoy a game of backgammon, chess or checkers, or watch TV. It’s also a great place to curl up with a good book and relax. In the lower level there’s pool and table tennis, darts, CD player, computer, TV and a DVD player.
After your day exploring all there is to do in Blue Ridge, Murphy and the surrounding areas ‘light up the barbie’, grill a few steaks and enjoy the early evening. Dinner can be served in the dining area or on the deck. Afterwards, put on a DVD for the kids, open a bottle of wine and as you sit in front of the huge stone fireplace in the living room talk about all you did today and what you’ll plan for tomorrow.
When it’s time to retire you have three bedrooms each with their own bathrooms as well as two sleep sofas. The master bedroom located on the main level has a beautiful stone fireplace, a seperate shower and Jacuzzi tub. The two lower level bedrooms have their own bathrooms, queen and bunk beds.

Why the Owner Chose Murphy
We were looking for a secluded location that was convenient to stores, restaurants, and activities. We looked at homes across the area and most didn't fit our wish list. We didn't want an area with homes on top of each other and we didn't want to be out of touch with civilization. Log Cabin in the Clouds gives us the best of both worlds. Quiet mornings that can be quickly turned into fun activities in just a few minutes.

We're originally from New England (just outside Boston) although my wife spent her early childhood in Italy. Our enjoyment has always leaned towards outdoor activities - camping, hiking, fishing - but as we get older a nice soft bed is more to our liking after spending the day with nature. Employment took us around the country and vacations took us even further, but the common theme has been family and friends.

The End of a Decade

What a wonderful way to end the decade and start a new year. We had a wonderful time ringing in the New Year at Log Cabin in the Clouds. The cabin was everthing you said it would be. As stated in your ad the sunrises were awesome. Just as nice was the snow coming down like diamond crystals and the full moon on the snow covered mountains. The cabin is very nicely furnished with top notch quality throughout. It was clean, cozy, and well stocked. The three couples had a great New Years Eve dinner at Shoe Booties resturant, one of our favorites. Murphy is a nice place with a quaint downtown area, some good resturants, a fun wireless internet coffee/wine spot, a fabulous home furnishings store "Moose Hollow" and an abundance of outdoor beauty. I highty recommend this property to anyone seeking to get away for a calm, stressless stay surrounded by the beauty of nature and mountain views to die for.

We have rented cabins in TN and NC for about 30 years and found this one better than any others. This is actually the second time we used it. The cabin is always clean and neat. There is plenty of room even for a big family. The view is fantastic, from the beautiful sunrise to the starlit skies. I love watching the morning fog flow in the valleys below the deck and the majestic mountains that range for miles and miles. Murphy is a beautiful small town. The locals are friendly down to earth people. My wife loves the flea markets and the numerious thrift stores. There is a well stocked supermarket and Wal-Mart on the East side of town. There are often festivals nearby and many beautiful scenic drives. We find the resturants serve great food. Man I have just about talked myself into heading back to Log Cabin in the Clouds today. Just have to wait though.

I took my girlfriend up for a romantic proposal. The view from the balcony was perfect and something we will never forget. We stayed three nights and only left once to get groceries. The view is too hard to step away from to need anything else to occupy the day and we loved watching movies and playing pool after dark. Can't wait to go back!

My husband, daughter (age 40) grandson 7, granddaughter 16 and my nieces daughter 17 stayed at the Log Cabin in the Clouds and had the time of our lives. We had plenty of room to get away from one another and have our privacy and yet had plenty of space to have family time. We felt at home and did cook most of our meals at home (at least breakfast and dinner). We highly reccommed this cabin to anyone looking for adventure, fun and family time. We were vey blessed to share this home and enjoy the atmosphere as well as the well appointed decorations and furniture.

We had a wonderful week at the cabin. The kitchen had everything we needed, the cabin was clean, there was plenty of room for everyone, and the view was amazing. The local attractions were farther away than I thought they would be but the cabin's so beautiful no one minded just staying there and playing games (board, ping pong, and video). The people we met in Murphy didn't dissappoint with their southern hospitality. I hope we get a chance to return.

Snowbound in The Log Cabin in the Clouds

The mid-afternoon challenging trek amid heavy snowfall up the mountain with our longtime friends added to our excitement upon arrival at the warm, cozy, luxurious Cabin in the Clouds. We grilled a delicious meal, then watched the mountains fill with snow all night. From the loft and the decks we began the next day viewing the glorious sunrise over snow-covered valleys and ridges. The men ventured into Murphy, but we women stayed snug here enjoying this comfortable home amid the snowclouds the next day. We enjoyed the brunch at the Cedar Hill restaurant on Sunday and a late afternoon hike in the snow up the hill from the cabin. We loved our 3 days snowbound amid such sky high beauty and comfort. Next time....we plan to experience a different season's visit here.

This was a great vacation. I have stayed at various rental properties in North Carolina, but this was by far the best. The cabin was extremely clean and well taken care of. The home is beautifully decorated, very comfortable and the views are exceptional. Everything that was mentioned on the web site was precise. The views surpass the pictures. I do not have the words to express the customer service that was provided by Tony. He is a great host. When you walk into the property you feel that you are at the home of a friend and not in a rental property. A plus for all of you when you stay leave the shades open in the master bedroom and be a wakened by the beautiful sunrise that can be seen from the bed. The only thing that I ask is that when you make your reservations you leave one week available for me next summer.

Our family rented Log Cabin in the Clouds over christmas week. We choose this only from on line searchong. Photos and things are not always as they seen. To coin the phrase buyer beware. Our experience here met and surpast our expectations completely. The cabin was beautiful and wonderfully appointed. We are so pleased that we are planning another trip and plan to return again.Tony was a man of his word everything was as stated or better and a full and prompt refund of deposit was received within days of departure. We have spread the word and look forward to our return. If you try this you will be happy with the choice you made. Thanks again Tony and Maria for making this a christmas to remember.

What a wonderful vacation we spent in the Log Cabin in the Clouds....a beautiful cabin in a beautiful setting. It was immaculate but we instantly felt "right at home." Every aspect, from the furnishings to the amenities, was first class. And the views.....words can't adequately describe!! We thoroughly enjoyed visiting Murphy & the surrounding area; however, the very best part of each day was returning to the Log Cabin in the Clouds....a memory our family will always cherish! The perfect rental - we would definitely do it again!
