Green Gate Cottage welcomes it's guests to 3 secluded acres of wooded/oceanfront property right on the Cabot Trail. This beautiful cottage is located in one of the most spectacular places on earth, with magnificent views right from the large covered porch. Mountains on one side, miles of shoreline on the other offer a magical getaway. Activities are endless and at the end of the day the cottage provides a perfect haven after exploring all the Cabot Trail has to offer. Relax around the fire pit and listen to the mesmerizing sound of the surf as it hits the rocky beach.
On the first floor of the cottage is a cozy living room with cathedral ceiling and a gas fireplace. Open to the living room is a dinning area with glass doors that lead to a large covered porch and a bright spacious kitchen that is fully equipped. A bedroom with a king bed has access to the deck and a full private bath. The second floor has 2 bedrooms with queen beds, window seats, and full private baths. The loft/reading area has a queen sofa bed. Every room has a spectacular view.
Watch seals (30-50 at a time) and sight whales right off the shore from the porch. Other wildlife on the property are moose, fox, snowshoe rabbits, eagles, quail and more. A real paradise !

Just finished our stay! I am at the Toronto Airport headed back to the US and I wanted to thank Steve and Tonia for a great visit! Nicely appointed close to the water, quiet, comfortable. Words cannot express our satisfaction. If you pass this one up, you will be sorry! We hope to come back in the future!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, age 55+, sightseeing.

I just spent a week at Green Gate Cottage and it was AMAZING! We went for our honeymoon and brought six friends with us; we had a fantastic time and can't wait to go back for a reunion trip! The house is absolutely beautiful and in the perfect location; it was great waking up to seals barking & the sun shining, campfires at night listening to the waves crashing and spending some time at the local shops and restaurants. While we were there we drove the Cabot Trail and went into several shops along the way, hiked to Uisge Bahn Falls in Baddeck, went whale watching with Kinnon McKinnon from Keltic Express Zodiac Tours (EXCELLENT!), golfed at Highland Links and Bell Bay and checked out the miners museum in Glace Bay. So much more we wanted to do but we'll save those adventures for next time! The care-takers were so friendly and helpful and the locals are so welcoming that it felt like home. Thank you so much for everything Tonia! It was more perfect than I could have imagined!
