Easter in San Miguel

Easter in San Miguel is an unforgettable experience. The whole town turns out for the Easter parade and you feel you are witnessing ceremonies that reach back many centuries. These are not festivals put on for tourists, they are an important part of the town's traditions both religious and secular. Staying so close to all the action was very convenient, especially as it offered a surprisingly tranquil haven and yet was a few minutes walk from town. We loved the "casa". It feels so Mexican and yet has every comfort. The staff are lovely - they cooked breakfast for us every day and did a special lunch one day. The climate is perfect and we enjoyed many a margarita in the lush private garden. This would be a great destination for a family vacation or group of friends.
Recommended for:Tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, families with young children.
