My husband and I stayed a week with our dauhter, son-in law and son. The condo is ablsolutely beautiful and has everything you need. The first floor is so nice because you don't have to go up and down the stairs every time you come from the beach or the pool. You have a great view of the ocean from the lanai. The property is located just north of the resort area which makes it a little more quiet. The boardwalk allows you to walk to the resort area including the Whaler's Village shopping center. The beach is not over-crowded and has a reef so you can snorkel right at your own beach. The pools are very nice and we never had trouble finding chairs. We actually did less sight seeing than we had planned because we loved playing in the ocean, relaxing at the pool and cooking our own dinners on the barbeque. We would love to come back again!

My wife and I stayed there for a week with my parents and our 4-year old and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very roomy, clean, well equipped - whole-house audio, 4! HDTVs, Wii, Apple TV, snorkel sets, boogie boards, are nice add-ons. Also very professionally and friendly managed, they clearly care about both the property and their guests!

The listing description is exactly what you get when visiting this property. If anything it's even better in person. We were so impressed with what this property had to offer. We had 3 young kids with us and it worked perfect. It was extremely clean and is very well kept. The property has every amenity you need, is very spacious, has a great outdoor space and the perfect location being steps away from the beach! We felt like we were at home while staying there. The owner and all the others we dealt with regarding our stay at Honua Kai were very helpful and welcoming. As for nearby activities there are so many things to choose from. The beaches are amazing, the pool area is great for kids and adults. We did the luau offered at the Westin Resort and would highly recommend it. There's also lots of activities offered in Lahaina, which is only a 10 minute drive. We chose the submarine tour...great family activity. We chose to buy most of our food at costco (you'll want to make a stop there on your way from the airport if you plan to prepare your own meals) and prepare our own food as its a cheaper option and worked best for us with kids. We also used the supermarket accross the road which was very convenient. Dukes Restaurant, which is on the resort has great food as well...we went for breakfast and the food was delicious! Our entire experience while staying on this resort was amazing and we will definitely be returning in the near future! I would very highly recommend this property to anyone looking for an amazing Hawaii vacation that they will never forget!!

I'm hesitant to write a review on this condo because I would love to keep it as a secret only my family knows about! We stayed at this unit for the month of March 2013 and had the most amazing time. We are a family of four, my husband and I and our two children ages 2 and 6 months when we stayed there. The unit was stocked full of great things our family could use such as pack and plays, a fold out for our 2 year old, beach toys, umbrellas, a high chair and more. The grass area outside the condo was perfect as our two year old could play out there while my youngest was napping or during dinner. We had many family dinners on the lanai and didn't feel as though I had to watch my two year old as closely as I would have if we were in a higher unit with a balcony. I definitely recommend this unit for anyone traveling with young children as it was steps to the beach, pool and I can't rave enough about having a "yard" to play in so we didn't feel trapped inside during naps. We have already schedule our trip back to this unit next year and my only complaint is that the condo was only available for two of the four weeks we plan on visiting. We will be renting another unit in Honua Kai but I know it won't live up to this one.

Our Return visit to Paradise

We stayed at this property last winter and were extremely fortunate to make a return trip back there in January of this year. There truly are not enough words to adequately describe this property or its owners. On a scale of 1-10 this property is easily a 20!!! Having stayed at this property last winter, we learned very quickly that Maui may be Paradise, but staying at this vacation rental clearly brings a new meaning to the word Paradise! Sitting on the lanai and watching the humpback whales breech right before our eyes was simply spectacular. With the beach mere steps away from the condo and resort pools easily accessible as well, we really did not feel the need to explore and travel around. We very quickly settled in and fully enjoyed our holiday in Paradise. Being located on Kaanapli Beach, there are several excellent restaurants,and shopping facilities within a quick drive or walk along the ocean boardwalk. With six people in our party(4 adults and 2 kids aged 6&3) this condo was beyond sufficient for us. We love the fact that there is a significant amount of privacy for all of us. The gourmet 5 Star kitchen is fantastic, and the wine fridge is an extra special touch and so is the fully working WII set. We had a few days of rain, so we made great use of most of the games and even worked on a puzzle and watched a movie all of which were at the condo for guest use. As Ive mentioned, this was our return visit to this magnificent property, and if we all had our way, we would go back next week and stay even longer. If you are looking for top notch accommodations for a larger group, on the ocean, that is exceptionally clean and well maintained take a closer look at this property. The owners are fabulous in more ways than I can name and so are their staff. We have come to consider them as friends and look forward to maintaining contact with everyone and most certainly returning back to Maui and to our "home away from home" in Paradise at Honua Kai. We're just finishing up our trip here at Honua Kai, and it has been spectacular. We traveled as a group of 7 - grandparents, us, our two kids (4 and 6), and my 20 something brother. The experience has been beyond what we imagined. From the beginning, the communication with the owner has been concise, helpful, and prompt. On arrival day, we changed our arrival time 3 times (due to late flights & I sick child), the on island agent was SO accommodating and helpful, and changed his schedule 3 times to ensure we could check in at a convenient time for us. The Unit is spectacular. It's spacious, loaded with deluxe appliances, the kitchen has everything we needed ( included a stocked spice pantry), and the bathrooms were luxurious (2 shower heads, yes please!). The unit is fully loaded with electronics - flat screen TV's, in house sound system that plays different inputs & different rooms, and wifi that worked perfectly. The activity closet was loaded with fun stuff - boogie boards, snorkels, skim boards, sand toys, even some hats & rash guards. Upon arrival they had stocked the kitchen with coffee & filters so we wouldn't miss out on our first morning of coffee on the lanai. My favourite part of the unit is the nano-wall ( a glass wall) that completely opens up. In the morning & evening we always had the nano wall open, and it just felt so tropical!! The resort itself is gorgeous. Our kids couldn't get enough of the pools, waterfalls, waterslides, kids water features, and hot tubs. We also went on a tour of the property hunting for plants & flowers - the grounds are SO lush! We ate at Dukes a few times ( we cooked lots here), and the food was yummy, prompt, and priced well ( for Maui). The Lava flows are to die for! We spent lots of days on the beach our front as well. It's not ideal if you want to swim tons ( there is coral right off shore), but our family had plenty of fun jumping in the waves and trying out all of the fun toys in the activity closet. My parents also loved walking/running on the beach every morning. All in all, this vacation was perfect. There was enough space that we weren't on top of each other, we cooked 80% of of meals in the condo (which save money & was much easier than taking the kids out for every meal), and the resort was spectacular. We really enjoyed our stay, from the moment we opened the door to the last second we had to leave we were all smiles! The condo had everything we needed and more! Our family vacation including grandparents, children and grandchildren some of whom were teenagers had a wonderful vacation. Everything we were told and shown by the video we were sent by the owner concerning the accommodations and even more were made available to us. The teenagers loved the "sound" system throughout the condo and everyone enjoyed the "activities" closet. We were met and introduced to the "workings" of the condo by a very knowledgeable person who made himself available to us all week if he was needed. There was a grocery store within walking distance and a restaurant "Dukes" within steps. Loved the coffee shop/gourmet grocery on site. Beautiful little town of Lahina was just a short drive. The owner and his assistant were always available to us to answer any questions we had.

Beautiful Condo

We travelled from Australia to stay at this beautiful condo in April for 10 days.This trip was for our daughters 30 birthday, we hired a local chef to come and cater dinner on the night of her birthday it was just beautiful eating our dinner outside watching the Maui sunset .We B.B.Q most nights and brought our meat from safe ways, I would have to recommend the fillet steak, the best we have ever eaten.We liked walking up to Whalers village most days for breakfast or lunch ,we also liked the coffee from the market at Honua Kai.We have travelled to Maui 6 times now and have stayed in lots of places this one has the lot . I have no hesitation in giving this Condo a 5 star tick.

Paradise times a million!

Aloha, my family and I have just returned home after a magnificent 16 day holiday in Maui. We had the privilege of staying in at this property while we were there. From the moment we arrived in Maui until the moment we left, we were treated like family and we immediately felt at home. The property was immaculate and the pictures on the website are spot on! Our family of six (4 adults and two children) had more than enough space and we all had a considerable amount of privacy. We thoroughly enjoyed the kitchen and loved cooking our meals, we also accessed the bar b ques which are literally around the corner from the lanai. The view that we enjoyed each day and night, and every hour in between, was with out a doubt one of the HIGHLIGHTS for ALL of us!! As we sat on the lanai with coffee or wine, depending on the time of day, the view was always breath taking! I'm quite certain we saw all ten thousand whales that visit Maui this time of year right from our lanai! We LOVED being on the ground floor and consistently used the lanai entrance which was so great, especially when returning from beach and grills. The south side of the resort was exceptionally quiet and calm. There were a few days that were quite windy at the pool area, but our little piece of paradise was quite the opposite. The beach was incredible! We enjoyed the use of the snorkelling gear, fantastic selection of sand toys and boogie boards almost every day! We were extremely comfortable and didn't feel the need to explore the Island with the exception of a few trips to Lahaina. I would have no problem recommending this property to anyone, it is a fantastic condo, steps from the beach, pools and grills. In fact we are already dreaming about a return trip! Was the listing description accurate regarding the location? Yes, It is spacious ground floor unit with large wall windows that opened up completely and plenty of grass for the kids to play on in full view while the adults relaxed on the lanai. A bonus is that you are on the non windy side of the building and while we were there there were a couple of days of big winds which we were protected from. You are also only steps to the beach! Did the listing photos accurately reflect the rental’s appearance and amenities? Absolutely and totally. The condo also included all the toys! From media equipment to mulitples of snorkels, masks and fins, pool toys and boogie boards. The kitchen was well stocked with spices and gourmet cooking gear. Was the property clean and well-maintained? The place was pristine in cleanliness and upkeep Was the owner helpful in answering your questions or concerns? Yes and the local property manager was also very helpful Would you recommend this property to a friend or relative? Yes! What nearby activities, attractions and restaurants would you recommend. We enjoyed gourmet meals and great views at Merrimans in Kapalua and Pacific O in Lahaina. We also loved horesback riding only a few minutes to the north at Ironwood Stables. Most amazing views of the Island from the top of the hill!! We rented roadbikes from West Maui cyles in Lahaina and biked almost every morning. The kids also enjoyed the aquarium south of Lahaina but you dont have to do any of these things as there is a great gourment kitchen to cook yourself, Dukes and Aina Market in the complex and with several pools and the beach only steps away you dont have to leave the property to have a terrific time!

Wonderful Maui vacation - your property was just perfect!!

We booked your property after searching the various listings and seeing all of the fabulous reviews. We were not disappointed! Our Maui trip was our first big family vacation since our little guys were born and we were also bringing my parents in celebration of their 40th anniversary. Location: The location of the property is great - walk right out to the beach, to the pool, grab a bite at Duke's, grill up some dinner, my husband and I even walked over Eagle Rider to rent scooters (which was a blast and the gentleman there was super friendly and helpful!), and 'the boys' which includes my husband, dad, and a 4 and 2yr old all walked to the "Sugar Cane Train". Very close drive to Lahaina town for lots of shopping and dining and sightseeing options too. Amenities: The unit itself is extremely nice - felt very much like a high end resort from the nicely furnished spacious rooms and gourmet style kitchen - also, it was perfectly stocked with pretty much all you need for your stay - from all of the linens and toiletries (just like a hotel) to all of the kitchen supplies, to all of the beach gear, we were more than set! The snorkeling was great at 'our' beach - we saw plenty of fish and coral, and my mom had a nice time relaxing in the beach chair while the boys played with the sand toys. It was great that there were supplies for our littlest one (high chair, pack-n-play) too in case we needed them! Our tips: While we enjoyed most of the places we ate at, a few of the standouts that may not be as 'known' are The Paia Fish Market as your heading on the road to Hana and then The Banyan Tree Bakery & Deli in Lahaina town. We can't wait to get to go back to the islands!!

This condo was the icing on the cake for our family holiday in March/2011. We were 6 adults, 2 children, and a baby, and we had plenty of room. Everything in the condo exceeded our expectations. We were overwhelmed to see how beautifully the condo was furnished and supplied. We immediately felt "at home". The folding patio doors were amazing. And the beach was literally steps away from the patio doors. If we hadn't been so comfortable in the condo, we might have toured around the island a bit more, but we liked being "home". We cooked all our meals in the condo, except for one "birthday" dinner. I would recommend this condo to anyone who wants a relaxing, luxurious, holiday in Maui. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. We will be back!!!!

What a vacation, my family of 7 sooo enjoyed your condo, it was beautiful and very comfortable. Felt like we were at home. The proximity of the parking garage to the front lanai was litteraly steps away, we felt using the lanai entrance to the beach and for morning walks was our own seperate entance to the whole resort. There is very little foot traffic on this side of the resort. Having all the beach equipment was wonderful also, my grandson cried I wanna go back to the beach house when we were on the plane ready to come home, I wanted to cry too!! Thanks for a great vacation and we will be back. Our youngest son proposed to his girl friend under the trees out front on the beach and we could see everything from the lanai....Wonderful.... What a wonderful property for a large group. The grassy area was wonderful for the children, close to pools and beach; the addition of Dukes is a great convience. It was great to have the use of the snokel gear, boogie boards, sand toys and chairs. The unit is spacous and well maintained. I would definately say that I would come back to this property again. The staff at the resort were very helpful and it was nice to have Michelle greet use. Thanks

We had the pleasure to stay in this condo for 2 weeks this year over Christmas and it was fantastic. We had 4 adults and 4 kids over the age of 12. Everything you can read about this condo is true and here are the things I think were understated. The beds were extremely comfortable, the rooms were spacious, the TVs were huge and clear. The condo was equipped with more then what was listed. We only had to buy food. Being on the ground floor was great…no elevators. The location was perfect and on the quiet side of the complex, very private and steps away from the beach, pools and barbecue. The green wall next door was not as high or as close as it looks in the pictures. It only blocks the view of the abandoned construction site, not anything else. Warm sunrises and coffee on the lanai were a highlight, granted there was no construction the time we were there. We tried many of the beaches around the island and decided the one out front is as good as it gets. On top of the boogie boards, snorkel gear and pools there is a surf board rental shop across the street and great starter waves in front of the place next door. The beach is amazing and very quiet compared to all the others visited, including south of black rock. Jared and Sherry were professional and easy to deal with. My only complaint is there is not enough time to enjoy all the amenities properly. We didn’t have time to even turn on the Wii or try the big tub. This was the best place we have ever stayed and if we can afford it, we will be back. Maui is a paradise and this condo made it really hard to go home. The Stone family loved it!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful condo in December 2009. We enjoyed the lanai, Wii, the HD TV, the spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, the boodie boards and snorkel gear, the location, everything! Communication with the Owner went extremely well. We highly recommend this condo!

Me and my family (7 total) just finished our wonderful Maui getaway at this wonderful condo! The condo has everything you will need all the appliances even grills by the pool! The living area is spacious and we loved how you could open the doors and have the Maui breeze come right into the condo. The pool is wonderful and just a few steps away from the condo! Ocean views from the lanai were breathtaking!!! We are already wanting to return and have only been gone less than 24 hours. The beach is less than 100 yards away from the back door! We would like to thank the Brown family for allowing us to enjoy a piece of their paradise! Mahalo!

The place is beautiful and tons of room! The kitchen is great if you enjoy cooking (there are also nice community gas grills by the pool) and we liked the walk-out porch so the kids could play outside. Plus you're only a few steps from a beautiful beach that is practically private. We saw whales every day from the beach, very cool!! The owners were very easy to work with and maintained good communication. I would highly recommend this condo. We hope to go back someday!

My family and I stayed at this condo for six nights in March of this year and we were more than satisfied. Our group consisted of six adults, two kids and the baby, so space was needed for sure. We had plenty. The three bedrooms each had king size beds and we found a queen blow up bed for the kids in the closet and a port a crib for our son. We were aware of the pull out bed in the living room but we had plenty of beds already. The furnishings were top of the line, soft linens and towels, the softest beds imaginable, and a completely furnished kitchen with stainless steel appliances and cookware. It was a home away from home for sure. There is three large flatscreens within the condo two in two of the bedrooms. If your group loves the WII, there is one in the livingroom next to the 55-inch plasma. If you like big bathrooms, this place has three. Two bathrooms have spa tubs and one has a two person shower. We loved having the laundry room because of the kids clothes and the closet full of snorkel gear, beach chairs, wetsuits, and beach towels was definitely an added bonus. I can't think of anything that this condo didn't have that would have made the amenities any better. My brother and niece opened the retractable wall in the living room every day. It was like having your living room outdoors. My niece hung out on the patio every morning and we saw the whales passing through as we were all hanging out by the patio relaxing. We were just steps away from the beach and ocean and the resort pool was a hot spot for sure. And because of the kids this first floor beach front condo was my first pick. This was our first family vacation with my parents and my brother's family in twenty years. We could not have stayed anywhere nicer and could not have been cared about anymore by the owner. I really felt as if he genuinely cared about how comfortable we were about staying at his place. The communication between the rental agreement and how quickly we received the information about the condo and the information on Maui was exceptional. Mr. Brown and his staff were fantastic. I hope that anyone who reads this will find that there is no better place to stay in Maui than here. I can promise you, it doesn't get any better than this. Sincerely, The Fox Family
