Situated less than 100 yards from the sand of the most beautiful two-mile stretch of beach in Southern Maine, this pre-WWII vintage beach house and remodeled guest cottage features modern amenities while maintaining the warm charm of a family Maine beach house. In addition, it's a short walk to the salt marsh and tide-water estuary for kayaking, canoeing, wading and swimming. Tennis, basketball and a playground are a short walk, too.
The Beach House is beautifully decorated, equipped with all amenities including wireless Internet, several bookshelves of good reading material and off-street parking for four cars. The Beach House has four bedrooms, bath, kitchen and a large cathedral-ceiling living room and a dining room with an extended-family dining table.
The Beach House living room is furnished with colonial rockers, coffee tables and reading lamps. The upstairs has four bedrooms: two with two twin beds, one with a king bed and one with a queen bed. The upstairs bathroom includes an antique claw-foot tub for soaking. An outdoor shower is located close to the kitchen back door. The south-facing shaded screen porch offers mid-day respite from the noon sun. The kitchen is fully-equipped with modern conveniences, including a gas range and oven plus a microwave oven, pots and pans, china, glasses and flatware. The handmade dining table comfortably seats ten.
The separate Guest Cottage offers three bedrooms; one with two twin beds, one with loft-style bunk-beds and one with a double bed. The Guest Cottage walk-thru bathroom area includes a washer – dryer and an additional refrigerator/freezer. The adjacent southwest facing deck is equipped with a gas grill, patio table and chairs and sheltered from the sea breezes and completely private. Just bring your own sheets, towels and beach gear, like Bocce.
