Some of our recent guest-friends had this to say about Sugar Plum (your own soon-to-be vacation home):
"We absolutely loved the cabin! It was more than we had hoped for. Our evenings on the back or front porches were very relaxing. The cabin is so cozy and decorated just like a mountain cabin should be. We visited Cade’s Cove, the Biltmore in Asheville, and made a day trip to Cherokee and saw the amazing Mingo Falls. The cool afternoons after the rain showers were very refreshing to us Texans! We missed hearing the rain on the tin roof, but know that would be great nap weather. Thank you for providing everything we needed."
"Sugar Plum will always be remembered as a special place now for us ALWAYS. I live in Maryville and have stayed at a lot of cabins here, but this will be thought of FIRST."
"Thank you so very much for a honeymoon weekend. We enjoyed the cabin too much… didn’t want to leave! Your cabin is very cozy, quiet and restful. The best part is soaking in the hot tub while drinking coffee and listening to the birds and the rest of mother nature. This is the ideal place to chill, sleep, reflect, and enjoy your spouse! It’s nice that it is close enough to everything, but away from the traffic and noise of other vacationers. We hope to be back soon when the opportunity arises! I can’t think of any other place to stay that would be as nice as Sugar Plum!"
"This is our 3rd trip up here and 3rd stay in your cabins this year! In July we stayed in Holly Berry, in October my mother and I were in Dreamland, and this week we were in Sugar Plum. My co-workers and their family were here also and they were in Holly Berry. We have so enjoyed this week. We went to Roaring Fork in Gatlinburg, Dollywood (we have season passes!), and Ober Gatlinburg. My niece and I had a shopping adventure at the Scrapbook Clearance Center – a MUST STOP on every visit. Although we did not get any snow here, we did go to the top of Newfound Gap Road. What a sense of God’s presence! Absolutely beautiful. Your cabins are a gift from God. When discussing with friends where we will be staying, we refer to “our cabin”! Very clean and so welcoming. Thank you so much for allowing us to be here. When I get stressed, all I have to do is think about “our cabin”!"

You'll quickly see how SUGAR PLUM got its name. Its quaint exterior and cozy interior get you in the mood for all the sweet things that a mountain vacation can offer. Make some hot cocoa, settle in on the upper or lower balcony, and listen to the sensational symphony produced by frogs and crickets. Such peaceful hideaways are rare - you may sleep so well that visions of SUGAR PLUMS dance in your head.
IN THE RIGHT SETTING, YOU CAN JUST ABOUT FORGET ALL OF YOUR WORRIES
SUGAR PLUM is one of three exclusive cabins in the Country Ridge Cabin Community - each nestled in its own nook on a private mountain 1200 feet in elevation. Just four miles from Pigeon Forge, this mountain retreat provides everything you need to slow down. We believe that the hurried pace you are accustomed to should be rewarded with a place to retreat for optimum peace. Here, you'll find many places to slow down.
The deep porches are made for rocking, the hot tubs know all about tired muscles, the balconies make a book read better, and steak from the grill just tastes delicious up here. Country Ridge began with the mountains - mountains noted for their lazy blue smoke and wilderness sanctuary. That's why afternoon naps come naturally here. The day is all yours.
DOING NOTHING IS A LEGITIMATE ACTIVITY
There's so much to do here. Explore the mountain and picnic on Country Ridge's six private acres, photograph nature, or pitch horseshoes with your family and friends. Famous mountain activities surround you in every direction. Nearby, you will find fishing, hiking, horseback riding, golfing, boating, wildlife viewing, theater, and a million and one other things. There's no end to the opportunities that await you, although we believe that the best thing to do at SUGAR PLUM is NOTHING at all.
TAKE THE BACK ROADS
Stray off the Parkway. The untold beauty of the Smokies is on her back roads. Surprise beckons around every bend in the locally traveled scenic side streets. Pull over for cider and a bag of boiled peanuts. Stop at the river and look for trout. Hop out and see where that nature trail leads. Be curious. After all, you are on vacation.
Is there really anywhere that you HAVE to be? It was on these beautiful back roads that we found the perfect mountain for Country Ridge and SUGAR PLUM - your home in the Smokies. It's an experience, not just a place to stay. Slow down. Savor your life.
UT VOLS FANS: What could be better than attending the (winning!) game in Knoxville and returning to your mountain hideout in the Smokies? We are approximately 30 minutes from the stadium with easy access via Chapman Highway. Go VOLS!

The Sugar Plum cabin was just right for our weekend in the mountains with another couple. The two bedrooms (king beds) with private baths were very comfortable, the cabin was clean and comfortably furnished. We did not use the hot tub, but it was in working condition and available to us if we had opted to do so. Location is within easy back-road access of Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, Townsend, and Sevierville and we were able to enjoy our time with a minimum of traffic issues as a result. We all four enjoyed our visit thoroughly!
Owner response:We are delighted that you enjoyed Sugar Plum. Come again soon!

Upon arrival, we found that the temperature was extremely hot, and once the air was set (at the property owner's requested temp) it eventually cooled down with the exception of the upstairs room which stayed warm. Property appeared to be clean. We did find the hottub was not well kept, and the jets were absolutely disgusting. I would not have put my foot in it. Also, there were holes in the blanket of the downstairs bed. For the price paid for two night's stay, I would have expected better linens (at least without holes). After staying for a short weekend, I would not desire to rent this property again.
Owner response:I know it was disappointing to arrive to a hot cabin, especially when the temperatures are so high right now, but I'm glad that as soon as you set it to our requested temperature the cabin cooled down. We have an excellent cleaning service, so I'm glad to hear that the property was clean. That is important to me, also, and we often get such nice comments about how clean our cabins are. I am extremely sorry about the hot tub not being clean; if you had let me know we could have had someone out to take care of the problem. Our cleaning service drains, cleans, and refills the tub after each guest so I'm not sure why it didn't appear clean. I will report the oversight to them, as well as the holes in the blankets, as they bring in new linens for each guest. I am quite sorry that your visit to our cabins didn't meet your expectations. That's not the norm for our guests.

Sugar Plum Cabin Vacation - AWESOME! Miranda, Thank you for the detailed driving directions (they were awesome)! We actually tried them all and they were so detailed that we didn't even get lost. :-() The weeks before, we were looking forward to our vacation with great excitement of staying in your beautiful Sugar Plum Cabin. Everything was well stocked and the only thing for us to do was go grocery shopping. :-) It was so much more than we expected. The pictures on the web site does not capture the real beauty of the cabin or the outside relaxing & beautiful surroundings. Thank you for opening up your cabin to us and allowing us to enjoy the most wonderful week. We enjoyed it so much we were wishing we didn't have to leave. I hope to be able to return to your cabin in the near future for some more relaxation and beauty. Thanks again for your gracious hospitality and sharing your beautiful cabin with us for a week. Thanks, Mary

The cabin was just fantastic. Thank you very, very much. Loved the hot tub, deck for grilling, big beds (our little girls slept 3 across in the downstairs bedroom). And your "back roads" directions to various points of interest were both used and appreciated. The cabin (tastefully done and immaculate) and your hospitality simply couldn't have been better, and we will recommend Sugar Plum to anyone who asks.

It truly was "A Wonderful Life" celebrating Christmas 2008 in the Sugar Plum. Everything about the cabin was perfect! The Sugar Plum definitely had the 4 C's of comfort, charm, coziness and cleanliness. The special decorations were a nice touch that warmed the cabin with the holiday spirit. We enjoyed the sights and shows of Dollywood and relished the peace and tranquility upon returning from the after-Christmas shopping. We are still talking about our magical and unforgettable Christmas week. Although we were a little sad when our visit came to an end, like Santa..."we'll be back again someday!"

Wow...what a BEAUTIFUL cabin! My sister and her family rented the sister cabin Dreamland and we had a wonderful time together. The "common area" with the horseshoe pit, campfire and garden was very much enjoyed. My daughter loved picking the fresh tomatoes for our sandwiches. What a great "perk!" The cabin was spotless and so peaceful but not too far removed from everything. It was great to enjoy the nearby activities and then head back up the mountain to our private retreat. We had a blast soaking in the hot tub, relaxing on the front porch and playing a TON of games together. The furniture was nice and the beds SO comfy. Miranda was WONDERFUL to work with. It made us sad to leave and hope to return some day!
