Some of our recent guest-friends had this to say about Sugar Plum (your own soon-to-be vacation home):
'We absolutely loved the cabin! It was more than we had hoped for. Our evenings on the back or front porches were very relaxing. The cabin is so cozy and decorated just like a mountain cabin should be. We visited Cade’s Cove, the Biltmore in Asheville, and made a day trip to Cherokee and saw the amazing Mingo Falls. The cool afternoons after the rain showers were very refreshing to us Texans! We missed hearing the rain on the tin roof, but know that would be great nap weather. Thank you for providing everything we needed.'
'Sugar Plum will always be remembered as a special place now for us ALWAYS. I live in Maryville and have stayed at a lot of cabins here, but this will be thought of FIRST.'
'Thank you so very much for a honeymoon weekend. We enjoyed the cabin too much… didn’t want to leave! Your cabin is very cozy, quiet and restful. The best part is soaking in the hot tub while drinking coffee and listening to the birds and the rest of mother nature. This is the ideal place to chill, sleep, reflect, and enjoy your spouse! It’s nice that it is close enough to everything, but away from the traffic and noise of other vacationers. We hope to be back soon when the opportunity arises! I can’t think of any other place to stay that would be as nice as Sugar Plum!'
'This is our 3rd trip up here and 3rd stay in your cabins this year! In July we stayed in Holly Berry, in October my mother and I were in Dreamland, and this week we were in Sugar Plum. My co-workers and their family were here also and they were in Holly Berry. We have so enjoyed this week. We went to Roaring Fork in Gatlinburg, Dollywood (we have season passes!), and Ober Gatlinburg. My niece and I had a shopping adventure at the Scrapbook Clearance Center – a MUST STOP on every visit. Although we did not get any snow here, we did go to the top of Newfound Gap Road. What a sense of God’s presence! Absolutely beautiful. Your cabins are a gift from God. When discussing with friends where we will be staying, we refer to “our cabin”! Very clean and so welcoming. Thank you so much for allowing us to be here. When I get stressed, all I have to do is think about “our cabin”!'

You'll quickly see how SUGAR PLUM got its name. Its quaint exterior and cozy interior get you in the mood for all the sweet things that a mountain vacation can offer. Make some hot cocoa, settle in on the upper or lower balcony, and listen to the sensational symphony produced by frogs and crickets. Such peaceful hideaways are rare - you may sleep so well that visions of SUGAR PLUMS dance in your head.
IN THE RIGHT SETTING, YOU CAN JUST ABOUT FORGET ALL OF YOUR WORRIES
SUGAR PLUM is one of three exclusive cabins in the Country Ridge Cabin Community - each nestled in its own nook on a private mountain 1200 feet in elevation. Just four miles from Pigeon Forge, this mountain retreat provides everything you need to slow down. We believe that the hurried pace you are accustomed to should be rewarded with a place to retreat for optimum peace. Here, you'll find many places to slow down.
The deep porches are made for rocking, the hot tubs know all about tired muscles, the balconies make a book read better, and steak from the grill just tastes delicious up here. Country Ridge began with the mountains - mountains noted for their lazy blue smoke and wilderness sanctuary. That's why afternoon naps come naturally here. The day is all yours.
DOING NOTHING IS A LEGITIMATE ACTIVITY
There's so much to do here. Explore the mountain and picnic on Country Ridge's six private acres, photograph nature, or pitch horseshoes with your family and friends. Famous mountain activities surround you in every direction. Nearby, you will find fishing, hiking, horseback riding, golfing, boating, wildlife viewing, theater, and a million and one other things. There's no end to the opportunities that await you, although we believe that the best thing to do at SUGAR PLUM is NOTHING at all.
TAKE THE BACK ROADS
Stray off the Parkway. The untold beauty of the Smokies is on her back roads. Surprise beckons around every bend in the locally traveled scenic side streets. Pull over for cider and a bag of boiled peanuts. Stop at the river and look for trout. Hop out and see where that nature trail leads. Be curious. After all, you are on vacation.
Is there really anywhere that you HAVE to be? It was on these beautiful back roads that we found the perfect mountain for Country Ridge and SUGAR PLUM - your home in the Smokies. It's an experience, not just a place to stay. Slow down. Savor your life.
UT VOLS FANS: What could be better than attending the (winning!) game in Knoxville and returning to your mountain hideout in the Smokies? We are approximately 30 minutes from the stadium with easy access via Chapman Highway. Go VOLS!

***SUGAR PLUM is a sister cabin to DREAMLAND (www.VRBO.com/28878) and HOLLY BERRY(www.VRBO.com/28882). Each cabin has two acres, yet they are close to one another. The easy stroll between the cabins makes Country Ridge a perfect location for large and extended families, senior staff members, executives, and church leaders looking for a special place to get together.

Really enjoyed our family stay at this cabin. The listed details and pictures are spot on. It was quiet and secluded enough for the adults, but within easy driving distance of activities for the kids. Only two problems I had were no screens of windows, so couldn't open them to enjoy the weather (these may have been removed for winter? Anyway, we just sat outside and enjoyed the porches more), and cobwebs in upstairs bathroom rafters. Rest of cabin was VERY clean and well equipped. We enjoyed zip-lining (close by), horseback riding, hiking, Forbidden Caverns, Cade's Cove, and shopping. These were all within easy driving distance. We were provided back-road driving directions to most things, which really came in handy. I hope we get to come back to this property in the future. Though next time we may rent the larger cabin and invite all our family...it would be the perfect location for family get-togethers!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

Great cabin and good location. The cabin was clean and equipped with everything we needed for a great getaway. It is far enough away that you can relax and hear nothing but close enough that you can be on the Pigeon Forge strip in just minutes.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

On behalf of (our extended) family, I want to tell you how much we enjoyed your cabin, Sugar Plum. It was just far enough away from all the noise and hustle and bustle of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg to be quiet & private, yet close to drive to either place. That was our first time in a cabin. We always stayed in motels before. Believe me it won't be our last. Would come back even now to Sugar Plum. Will definitely do this again. It was so peaceful, clean, and roomy. There were 7 of us, and plenty of space. We thoroughly enjoyed being together In the cabin. I wouldn't change a thing. Location is beautiful. Thanks again, David and JudyDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We have been visiting the Smokies since the early 70's and have always looked for places away from the hustle and bustle of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. Sugar Plum was exactly what we were looking for and really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Yet it was close enough that after a short drive, we were either in the park or Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge for shopping, dining or sightseeing in Cades Cove. We would definitely recommend Sugar Plum to anyone looking for seclusion and relaxation away from it all. Buddy's Bar B Cue has always been one of our favorites.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We loved the cabin and it's surroundings! The cabin was very clean. Our only dissappointment was that it poured rain every day we were there so our plans outside of the cabin where limited. We would definitely come back for another try and also recommend this cute little getaway to anyone!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: We are so glad that you loved Sugar Plum and hope you will come back again soon!

Sugar Plum and/or its sister cabins had been on our destination list for several years as a great way to do a Smokey Mtn getaway for our family of 5, so our expectations were high when we were finally able to make the trip. We were not disappointed. Great location close to Dollywood and GSMNP (especially with the backroads tips), but also peaceful and rural when we were ready to get away from the traffic and crowds. The kitchen was adequate. We used the hot tub without issues. Loved turning on the fireplace for cool evenings and I enjoyed rocking on the balcony looking out over the countryside. We were shorted a pillowcase, but Miranda was great about getting it taken care of as promptly as possible. Definitely looking forward to staying here again in the future.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Sugar Plum was so much more than I expected. It was quiet and peaceful and the cabin is beautiful. There was a problem with the well which caused the water to be off for.... maybe 12 or 15 hours, but the owners stayed in contact with us, brought us lots of bottled water and had things fixed as soon as humanly possible. These things happen and I do not hold it against them in any way. I was there with my husband and three children and it was a perfect getaway for us.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
Owner response: I'm so glad that you had a wonderful visit at Sugar Plum and are so sorry that we had the well trouble while you were there. Thank you for your kindness and patience as we worked to get it fixed. We're so glad that you had a lovely family getaway and look forward to your next visit to Country Ridge Cabins. Hurry back!
