Our Home in Paradise!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Hale ka wai `olu, a perfect setting for 4 adults to celebrate my husband's 40th birthday! There was another family checking out the same day that we arrived, and so we checked in later in the day to allow the cleaning staff time to prepare the house for our arrival. We found the home to be very clean and comfortable, decorated in breezy island style with comfortable furnishing in every room. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed to cook meals in. We made good use of the webber charcoal bbq in the back yard and appreciated having a dishwasher to do our dirty work! The outdoor bathroom was very convenient for rinsing off after exploring the beach, and we appreciated the beach toys that are stored on the side of the house. The house is equipped with a safe for your valuables and an alarm system and gate with a lock at the driveway for an added sense of security. The locals in the neighboring houses are very friendly and we enjoyed meeting them at sunset on the beach with our mai tai's in hand, chit chatting about our days and watching their beach doggies play together. My hubby and I stayed in the Master Suite upstairs and found the bed to be very comfortable. Falling asleep to the sound of the waves crashing onto the beach just beyond the back patio was so wonderful - I recorded the sound to help me remember the peaceful feeling. Our best friends stayed in the second bedroom underneath the stairway and they also enjoyed a very comfortable bed and being lulled to sleep by the waves. The open floor plan is expansive and the location right on the beach was a dream come true! We spent many hours lounging on the back patio watching the surfers, stand-up paddlers, boogie-boarders and beachcombers go by. We saw turtles swimming in the shorebreak in front of the house and saw whales in the distance. The beach is perfect for swimming due to the protection from the reefs - even when the waves were big outside we could still safely swim and wade in the water near the shore. We walked up the beach to the reef in front of the Haleiwa Surf Condos and enjoyed many hours snorkling and exploring the reefs. We even saw an octopus one day! The location of the house is very convenient - minutes to town and to the North Shore beaches. The property manager was very professional, responsive and easy to deal with. All in all we couldn't have asked for a better home-away-from-home and we look forward to returning soon!

Great home for family vacation

This house was perfect for our family. Our kids are ages 5 and 7 and we visited the North Shore in mid January. Yes, the waves were huge but our kids mainly play on the shore and do a little bit of body surfing. Took lifejacket for the youngest which helped with worry...the house has lots of beach toys, games, dvd players....kids won't be disappointed. One huge benefit was the outdoor-entry bathroom. I really don't think the pictures do the house justice! The only flaw we could find was the dryer...it tooks ages for clothes and towels to dry. This house is right on the beach...so if you sleep in the master bedrooom (upstairs) you will definitely hear the crashing waves in the winter months. Everyone in town was nice and helpful...we'd definitely visit again if given the possibility!

My family ENJOYED a stay in this beach house in November 2008. It was lovely. The website photos show exactly what the house and beach look like. We couldn't have been more pleased!

This beachfront home is the perfect get-a-way setting. The rooms are spacious and decorated beautifully, yet with a very welcoming effect. The beach is just outside the back door and everything is a very short drive from this home. From our back porch, we saw: a) a surfing competition; b) a Sea Turtle on the beach; c) two whales, one of which jumped completely out of the water. The sunsets and mornings were beautiful and the ocean breeze lovely. This is an extremely wonderful place to stay and comfortably held six adults.
