Keywords: Bay House
50' deep water canal in back of property just 3 miles from the open gulf. Bring your boat and tie up in the back yard. There is a full service marina in Bridge Harbor just minutes from the back door. The beach is just over the bridge (about a mile.) You can drive to Galveston via the blue water highway with miles of open beaches on your right.
The birding is some of the best on the Gulf Coast.. many species can be viewed from the front porch that overlooks several square miles of marsh/wetlands. You can fish from the dock on the canal for trout and catfish. Watch the surfers at surfside, walk or fish the jetties or picnic in the park.
There is a canoe and a kayak available for your use If you intend to bring a boat, please let me know and I will clear the dock for you.
This is a great place to relax and get away.

Year Purchased: 2006
Why the Owner Chose Freeport
I built this home in 2006. The lot location was perfect for off shore fishing. The neighbors were nice and it was close to my main residence. It takes only one hour to drive to my bay house.
The Unique Benefits at this House
It is a quiet little community and very laid back. It is a relaxing respite from the fast pace daily routine.

Just the right size for three couples with little kids. The house is reasonably priced and very well maintained; the pictures don't do it justice. We would chose this house again if we decide to stay in the area again
Recommended for:Pet owners, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children, families with teenagers.

This lovely home met all of our expectations. The home is of newer construction and well taken care of. If you like to cook the kitchen is well stocked with dishes, wine glasses, cooking utensils and pots and pans. We enjoyed sitting on the covered porch in the evenings. We brought our boat and docked it at the house with ease. The Gulf is only a short boat ride away. We enjoyed our stay and would rent this property again.

I took my family and the accommodations are wonderful. It is located in the best part of town and provides a dock for great fishing. I have one child who will not stop talking about the rrip and my son saying we need to do more family trips. I highly recommend it.

Better than expected. Beautifully decorated 3 bedroom, 2 bath home on the canal. The owner was very helpful and offered my boys a canoe to use at their leisure. The patio was large and offered a very nice view. The master bedroom was large and opened up to the patio. The condo is a very short drive to the beach. Their is a restaurant and club very near the property.

Not your run of the mill beach rental. This was truly a home away from home!

When booking this rental we were not quite sure what to expect since it was away from the beach and all the hot spots. Once we got there we were very impressed with the accomodations and David's hospitality. He told us that we were his guests in his home and made us truly feel that way. The location was perfect since it was right on the marina and 3 minutes from the drive-on beach and the local favorite The Purple Cow (Although we preferred The Pirate's Alley Cafe). We loved that we could go down to the dock at any time and drop our line in the water. Although we are very inexperienced fishermen, we caught enough croaker for a night of fresh fish and enough blue crab and stone crabs for a meal the next night. The kids loved this experience. All in all, we had a great family experience at the house. Close enough to the beach and hot spots but tucked away so that we didn't have to deal with all of the goings on at the beach through the evening and night time hours. I highly recommend this for those that like to be in the mix of things when they choose and retreat to a quite restful home when they want.
