It looks like it has been a while since the last reviewers have reviewed this property. I am not sure what has happened in the time that has passed. The house is very nice and clean. However, we were struck by the lack of amenities of this place. The kitchen is not stocked at all. There is no cutting board, no sharp knives, no measuring cups, no colander (what kind of place has no colandar for boiling pasta??). Many of the dishes were chipped. The dishwasher was leaking water all over the floor, so we disconnected the water to the dishwasher and spent our whole weekend washing dishes. The king sized bed downstairs was soft and lumpy, so my husband and I slept on the floor in the room with the twin beds instead, where our children slept (the other beds were occupied by the other family we were with).Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Hello Mike, Thank you for your feedback as we strive to have everything in order to insure a comfortable stay for our guests. I'll address items you commented on. 1) Kitchen utensils. I'm at a loss on how these items would go missing, but I assure you, when we placed our home in the vacation rental system, it was fully stocked. These items will be replenished within a matter of days. 2) Dishwasher. Unfortunate timing, one never knows when a mechanical device is going to break, and we are truly sorry for the inconvenience you and family endured. Certainly, with hardwood in the kitchen, we wouldn't knowingly leave a leaking appliance in use. This has already been repaired. 3) Downstairs bed. That could certainly be a matter of "personal preference" as some people like firm beds and some like them soft. That bed does have the undulating foam topper on it, and I suspect, thats what you felt. We appreciate you pointing out the missing items in the kitchen, and apologize again for the mishap with the dishwasher. Sincerely, Tom & Debra

There are cabins, and then there are homes! We've been going to Bear Valley every winter for the past 10 years, and have always rented a cabin in Blue Lake Springs (as we have friends you live there fulltime). This year we decided to step up to find more "comfortable" accomodations, and were we ever impressed. The owners here have thought of everything. Dare I say, this home is almost too nice to be a vacation rental. We have no need to look elsewhere when we return next ski season. Thank you for a wonderful stay!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, girls getaway, romantic getaway, adventure seekers.
Owner response: Thank you so much for the kinds words. We're glad you enjoyed yourselves and look forward to you returning to our home.

What else can be said about this incredible home away from home. Every detail and need are addressed with this beautiful house. No hotel or B&B can ever match the comfort, furnishings and price. We are hooked and will make this a part of our yearly vacation spots from here on out.
