Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2002

Amy and George Gorman have lived part of the year in our wonderful Maine house, most of the year in Berkeley, CA. George is an ex-University Professor of Biology who added a mid-life career of finance and law. Amy is a speech pathologist and gerontologist who wrote, Aging Artfully: 12 Profiles of Visual and Performing Women Artists 85-105. After growing up on the East Coast we are thrilled to have re-discovered the beauties in Maine, both the incredible nature and the artistic/cultural life. We are grateful for our bi-coastal lives, love both the coasts, and enjoy sharing our Maine "paradise" with others. We are proud grandparents of identical twin toddler granddaughers!

Why the Owner Chose Brooklin

The area is a true haven for relaxing, hiking, biking, kayaking, enjoying the unbelievably beautiful tides both low and high. We love the kind nature of the people, the actively engaged community in all things political environmental agricultural and cultural.

The Unique Benefits of this House

We love the flow of the Benjamin River, the pond outside, the quiet, the beauty outside of every window, the comfort of the house, the easy access to Blue Hill and Brooklin, the roads of the area.
