Don’t be a tourist; be an insider. Experience Paris the way the authors of the highly acclaimed guidebook, Pariswalks do. ("Just the best, most erudite little walking guide you can find." - Susan Spano, Los Angeles Times)
Start your day with a short walk to pick up the International Herald as well as fresh bread and croissants from one of the nearby excellent bakeries. Enjoy your coffee and breakfast as you plot your day using the Wi-Fi internet connection and information we have left for you in the apartment.
Spend your day walking for hours through central Paris following a walk from Pariswalks. Visit any of the half a dozen museums that are within a 10 minute walk. Shop the trendy clothing stores on rue des Francs-Bourgeois or shop for food on the rue Rambuteau, at the huge bi-weekly street market on rue Richard Lenoir, or on the pedestrian street rue Montorgueil all in close proximity. We give you all the best addresses for dining and touring. On your way home pick up a bottle of wine and some cheese. Or, be seduced by the produce and the charcuterie and come home laden with food to cook in your fully-equipped kitchen.
Relax on the oversize sofa (perfect for napping) or on the balcony as night falls over the rooftops of Paris. If you are not cooking, walk out to dinner at one of the many delicious and reasonably-priced restaurants in the neighborhood. Return home late to fall into the comfortable beds knowing that tomorrow will be just as wonderful.
Our apartment provides comfort and generous personal space. The apartment is light, sunny and safe. The bathrooms have deep tubs and stand-up showers. The two bedrooms and baths are fully separated, providing total privacy for two couples. The study has a twin bed that can accomodate a fifth person.
Every rental of a week or more includes a free copy of Pariswalks to enhance your visit.

The Unique Benefits at this Apartment
Our location is ideally situated for easy access to any part of central Paris. We are near three different subway lines and several bus lines. It is an easy and interesting walk to most destinations in the heart of the city. The neighborhood is one of the most vibrant and is studded with shops, restaurants, galleries, and markets. Why stay in the neighborhoods where the over-priced hotels are and only see the tourist traps? Stay in a real neighborhood and live like a Parisian.
Bakeries, fruit, supermarket, banks, cheese store, coffee roaster, cafes, etc
Historic square lined with beautiful 17th century buildings. The arcades are filled with galleries and cafes and the garden is filled with people lounging on the grass and children playing.
An often-ignored but wonderful museum of the history of Paris. Housed in what was once a private home with beautiful gardens, it includes such treasures as Proust's bedroom and Fouquet's jewelry store
Once a private home, Picasso's heirs donated this collection of his paintings and sculptures to the French government to avoid the death duties.
The museum of French Judaism. This is not a Holocaust museum. It contains artwork and objects of Jewish life in France
A striking building with the pipes and "guts" on the outside. There are temporary exhibits and the permanent modern art collection here. Take the outside escalator to the top for a great view of Pari
The Hotel de Ville (city hall) has free exhibits that are usually wonderful and skating (winter) and a ferris wheel (summer) on the plaza. The BHV is a huge department store where you can buy anything
A fabulous street market every Thursday and Sunday mornings. The best prices and a huge array of produce, meat, cheese, etc. French vegetables and fruits somehow taste much better than ours!
Owner's Map of Paris Arrondissement 3
My parents purchased the apartment because they spent extensive periods of time in Paris. The apartment was for family use only and was never rented until this past year.
My mother and I are the authors of Pariswalks, a guidebook of walking tours of the oldest neighborhoods in Paris. It was first published over 30 years ago. It has had several editions over the years with new walks added each time. The current edition included my daughter, making it a book by three generations of Landes women.

this was posted in our guest book in the apartment: To Alison - and all of the Chez Landes family, after a whirlwind week in Paris, we have our first quiet five minutes while waiting for our taxi. Just want to take a moment to thank the people we have never met but whose hospitality we so thoroughly enjoyed. I can't tell you how much we discussed Alison's suggestions and directions and referenced Alison by name! All because of your well thought out directions and helpful hints. And the warmth of the apartment and the personal touches made it so much more than a place to stay! Our favorite "discovery" was the Monjul restaurant on Blanc Manteaux I think - actually recommended to us by the people at Gaigne when we could not get in at the last minute. Also- loved the Sunday morning market at the Bastille and beyond. And all of Paris! Thanks again.
