Our 18th-century stone house is located in Vacqueyras, located about 20 minutes drive north-east of Avignon. Vacqueyras is a village of about 900 people that produces world-renowned wines. and is a great location from which to explore all of Provence. Vacqueyras is on the "Route des Vins" and is a very well-known producer of excellent Rhone wines. It received its own official appelation in 1971.
Vacqueyras is no tourist town. Step out the front door to strolls through the vineyards. Walk through our terrace and you're in the town, just a couple minutes from a boulangerie, a small grocery store, green grocer, two cafes, post office, pharmacy and other services.
Our lovingly-restored house of approximately 2500 square feet dates back to at least 1793. It has exposed-beam ceilings, red tile floors, fireplace. More modern amenities include DSL WiFi, telephone, and handsome modern and antique furniture. There is a powered speaker system for your iPod iPhone or other MP3 device
The large kitchen is generously equipped with plenty of cooking utensils and dinnerware. There is a gas cook top, refrigerator, a small oven and microwave. You can seat up to eight at the kitchen table.
Outdoors is a terrace with barbecue and furniture for al fresco dining. All linens are included.

Owner's Map of Vacqueyras
Paul and Susie Segal reside in San Francisco. Paul is a graphic designer and Susie is a travel agent. They fell in love with Provence in 1993 while on sabbatical. They became intrigued with the notion of owning their own home there. They returned to Provence that winter and found a house dating from 1793 in the charming village of Vacqueyras. They have since transformed the house into a comfortable home. They cherish the time they are able to spend there, and take great pleasure sharing their home with friends and guests.
