The PERFECT Adirondack vacation!
This beautiful new log home is nestled in the mountains on one of the most pristine lakes in the Adirondacks. Garnet Lake is 1.6 miles long and .25 miles across and boasts some of the best bass and pickerel fishing in the area. Two thirds of the lake is surrounded by state-owned undeveloped wilderness.
From the wrap around deck you have the best view down the lake and into the afternoon sun for those delightful happy hours. The lake is famous for its loon population and their distinctive call is a treat to hear over the water. Three kayaks are available for your use and are perfect for exploring the unspoiled wilderness at the other end of the lake. A two person paddleboat is also available and is great for the kids. Jet skis are prohibited but small motor boats are allowed and there is a boat ramp. The water is crystal clear with a sandy bottom starting at 6" at the lake's edge and 6' off the end of the dock. Ideal for swimming and water sports of all kinds.
The house is knotty pine throughout and is decorated in Adirondack decor. Two bedrooms and a full bath are upstairs and a bedroom and full bath are on the main level. Two of the bedrooms have queen beds and the third has three twin beds. There is also one sleeper sofa on the ground/lake level. If you've been wanting that Adirondack vacation but are a little nervous of the many "camps" or "cozy cottages" that you know will be old and musty then this is the place for you: beautiful outdoors combined with a very clean,new, modern house with all the amenities.
Cook s'mores on the campfire by the water's edge and prepare to see the starriest skies. Hike Crane Mountain or one of the many other well marked local trails; white water raft the Hudson or visit the Garnet Mine (all within 20 minutes). If all this wilderness becomes too much for the kids take them mini golfing or to 6 Flags Amusement park or the water park in Lake George (30 minutes away). The house is equiped with Satellite Direct TV, numerous DVD's and loads of board games.
For the winter traveler Gore Mountain is just 15 minutes away and has excellent downhill skiing and Garnet Hill is rated one of the top five X-country ski areas in the nation. There is ice fishing and many snowmobile trails.

This beautiful home on the quiet and serene Garnet Lake in the Adirondacks will NOT dissapoint you! The layout of the home was awesome, it was super clean, and it felt like home in every way possible. The kayaks/paddle boat, fire pit, dock, fishing all were so easy to utilize. We have three children ages 6, 8, and 12....all had the time of their lives and we as parents were stress-free!!!! Garnet mining is close by and everything else is easily accessible, yet you feel like you are in the middle of nowhere. Restraunt recommendations were spot-on (Black Mountain EXCELLENT suggestion...thank you). We have found our new vacation spot/fall weekend getaway...and looking forward to coming up for some Gore Mt skiing. Also the trails around the house were incredible (75% of land is state owned 'Forever Wild' land) and the very few neighbors around the lake were extremely polite/friendly. We have stayed in many vacation homes over our 18 years of marriage, and my wife and I are most impressed by what this "GEM" of a house has to offer. The owners were very helpful and so prompt with responses!! Thank you for the start of a new family tradition for us!! It is HEAVEN!!!!

Our week was amazing.... the weather was perfect.....the only rainy day we had was Friday, and it was a good day to stay in and play games. The lake is not only beautiful, but sparkling clean. We caught enough fish to feed 10 people on Thursday night, and we didn't even keep the 4 lb 6 oz bass that one of the boys caught. We kayaked every day, hiked up to the Lizard Pond and to the pond on Crane Mountain, and swam and fished a lot....

What a beautiful home. The pictures do not even do it justice. The lake is spectacular and it was the perfect getaway for our girls weekend. The house was immaculate and well maintained and it was inviting and comfortable. We did not even venture away from the lake for the time that we were there. It had everything we needed for the perfect weekend. We are planning our trip for next year already! The Allens were great to work with and everything was easy!

We have rented a number of homes over the years, and all I can say is RENT THIS PROPERTY! It is very well maintained and is definitely homey! It is immaculate, and everything is in proper working order. Even the beds were extremely comfortable, which is a rarity in many rentals. Your Cabin was a lucky find. It has everything we wanted; beautiful with a wonderful lake view and well appointed. We kayaked, hiked Auger and Tenant Falls, and spent a day at the Adirondack Museum. We cooked most meals in and enjoyed reading and just relaxing. It was really special to sit on the deck and listen to the loons.

Had a wonderful stay. Fantastic kayaking on a beautiful lake. You have to kayak to the far end of the lake and enjoy the impressive peace and quiet of a true Adirondack hide away. The house is beautiful with all the amenities. Owners were excellent to work with.
