Wonderful Responsive Owner-Extremely Loud Location

The property is very much as seen in the photos and the owner was extremely prompt in any request that we had. In addition when we had considerable issues with Pay Pal (trying to access our account out of the country) they were very patient waiting for the balance due. Unfortunately, something that can't change until the unit is upgraded is the road noise. The building (and wonderful patio) faces the busy road and thoroughfare to the next area up the coast. When we looked closer at the building, we noticed that 97% of the building balconies had a second glass enclosure on the patio. Obviously this is necessary for general comfort. The balcony is virtually unusable the noise was so loud. Partially it due to the busy time of year, but can 't be much quieter due to the road location. When we arrived at the property, the floors were extremely dirty. I have no doubt that the unit had been cleaned, but kitchen floor was really bad. When I contacted the owner, he had the house cleaner come over and mop the floor. When we walked out to the deck (the next day) we realized that unfortunately, the same floor cleaning method had been used and it was sticky and extremely dirty. I don't believe that it had been cleaned in some time. We did not contact the owner on this as we just did not want the interruption. The last issue that seemed inconsistent with the level of rental was the towel allotment. My husband and I were in the until for four nights and we had two small bath towels and two hand towels only. The second bathroom had no towels. When I contacted the owner regarding pool towels or more bath towels, I was told that we had the amount of towels for two people and that length of time and that maid services (I guess to bring new towels) was and extra, optional charge but this one time he would give us extra towels. I did not see anything about this in the fine print, and don't usually carry my own towels when I am staying in a "furnished" vacation unit. We used the extra bath towels for the pool. As another review indicated, the unit is perfect for a couple as the bedrooms are fairly small. We ended up using the second room (with two twin beds) as our closet. It would be tight with four and six would be uncomfortable. I think this unit has potential to be rented out as a luxury rental but as it was when we rented that would be a stretch. We considered moving, but the town was busy and we accepted the situation vs. the hassle of moving.

Firstly, yes, it is true that most of the apartments in the building are enclosed, but that is because most of the occupants of the building are permanent residents and the balcony was enclosed in order to acquire more living space. In reading the other reviews and speaking directly with our guests, all have thoroughly enjoyed having the open balcony to sit and sip on a glass of wine while enjoying the breathtaking view and the magnificent sunsets. Also, it so happens that you were at the unit during the busiest time of year during Vina del Mar's annual music festival. As far as the cleanliness of the apartment, we have always gotten very good feedback from all the guests regarding our housekeeper. As you know first-hand, if there is a problem we are always very accessible and prompt to remedy the situation. I only wish that you would have informed that you were not completely satisfied. We have found that the trend of travelers tend to prefer apartments instead of hotels in order to live like the locals. Therefore, unlike hotels, which offer daily maid service, we can arrange maid service for an additional fee.

We spend two nights here in January. It was a very welcome respite after 10 days on the road, driving up from the south of Chile. The apartment was very clean, spacious and comfortable, and the ocean view from the balcony was fantastic. Our kids enjoyed swimming in the heated pool, and then eating pizza from Papa John's - located right next to the apartment building. It was too bad the apartment was only available for two nights, or we would have loved to stay longer.

We stayed at this beautiful condo with out two grown daughters. It was a perfect place in a wonderful location close to grocery, restaurants and just a short walk to the beach. The condo was clean, comfortable and had all of the amenities we needed. The concierge were very helpful and we took advantage of the indoor pool, outdoor pool and sauna. I definately recommend this condo and hope we can stay here again!

Apartment in Viña

This is an excellent apartment for a couple or a couple with two children. It has terrific views from the huge terrace, is comfortably furnished, has great communal space and a very good kitchen (althought the dishwasher was not working). The master suite is lovely. However, we were four adults and the second bedroom was just not adequate, being cramped and lacking in anywhere to put anything apart from a small built-in cupboard. We had to leave our cases in the hall and squeeze past each other in the room. The shower across the hall did not soak away. We could not imagine how six people would be accommodated here. The location is at the far end of town, so good for acess to the coastal resorts but a trek into Viña on foot. Viña is not pedestrian-friendly and getting from one place to another across its bizarre crossing system can be a challenge. The building is safe and the helpful concierge staff are a real bonus.

I only wish that we would have been informed of this during your stay in order to take care of the situation immediately. As you can see in the other reviews, whenever a guest has a request we do our best to remedy the situation as quickly as possible. We even have a local Vina phone number which reaches us whether we are in Chile or the USA, so we are always very accessible to our guests. As far as the size of the condo, please note that the square footage is clearly stated in the listing. Previously we have had several groups of six who have been quite confortable in the condo. Also, I am sorry that you were not satified with the location, however, the building is located in the most exclusive part of the city and also it is right next to the largest mall in town. Major department stores, grocery stores and cinemas are just steps away. It is true that the building is about a half hour walk to the city center, however, being that the city center is away from the water we opted to have our condo facing the Pacific Ocean. In our experience, we have found that having an ocean view apartment is the first priority of most guests. Of all of the properties listed in Vina, we are proud to have more reviews than any other and all of the other reviews have given us a perfect rating of 5 out of 5 stars.

Eddie & Danilo's condo is very comfortable, well appointed and modern. The view from the balcony is fabulous. We took their advice and went up on the roof for sunset.....wow! Great 360 views of Vina. The location is perfect for walking all over the beach in any direction. There is a big grocery store within a 1/2 block of the condo. Discovered lovely neighborhoods around 6 Norte and 6 Pointe area. Beautiful and easy drive up the coast to Renaca and Concon. Went to dinner in Concon and loved the fresh seafood everywhere. The concierge staff at the condo were soooo nice as well. We would stay here again if the opportunity arises.

The location, views and apartment itself was absolutely wonderful! We were traveling in Chile for a month and I would say this accommodation was the best. The owners are very easy to deal with and there was even a bottle of wine waiting for us upon arrival. I really could go on and on about the cleanliness of the apartment, the fully-equipped kitchen, and the friendly concierge. There is also a lovely heated pool on the premises. I look forward to returning sometime in the summer months so we can swim at the beach! I REALLY THINK THIS IS AN A-PLUS PLACE TO STAY!

All the highlights about this unit mentioned in the other reviews are accurate. Another plus for me was the nearby seaside promenade, great for walking, jogging, cycling, skating or pushing a carriage if you have an infant with you. I must admit that I was naively expecting pretty little coastal villages, but Vina is quite a dynamic place, yet still has a small enough feeling to enjoy. You'll love the comfort, spaciousness and great location of the apt. I walked from/to the bus station with ease. I, too, appreciated the interest and helpfulness of the owners.

This was a great place from which to enjoy Vina del Mar. The apartment has a great layout and the balcony, which is surprisingly big, receives the afternoon sun and offers spectacular views of the ocean. Everything was exactly as described; nothing was lacking. Since we are a family with young children, we always opt to lodge in condos rather than hotel rooms, so that we can spread out and prepare our own meals rather than go to restaurants. And unlike so many other places we have stayed in the past, this one was ready for us. Little details-- like toilet paper in the bathroom, ample fresh towels, soap and even things like coffee and salt and pepper--were provided for, when they so often, in other places, are not. The owners also prepared information about the area and maps for those who are new to it. We stayed for nearly two weeks and were very contented the whole time. The apartment is close to the beach, where there are many playgrounds and opportunities for exercise. We also made use of Danilo's brother's transport service to get us to and from the airport in Santiago. He was friendly and helpful as well.

You will love Eddy and Danilo's condo. It is spacious, spotless and very well located. Also, Eddy and Danilo are available for any questions that you may wish to have answered. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Vina del Mar! The condo was even nicer than it appears in photographs. The terrace was perfect for enjoying a glass of wine at sunset. Eddie and Danilo were always available to answer any questions, and even called us at arrival to make sure all was well. The location was perfect for exploring Vina del Mar and Valparaiso. Don't miss the beautiful drive up the coast to Con-Con, where you'll find more great restaurants. We didn't want to leave, and hope to return in the future for a longer visit.

The apartment works in every way,. It's in an attractive, very well maintained luxury building in a pleasant neighborhood on the north end of of Vina del Mar. We particularly liked the plantings and water features out front. There is safe and free parking. We found the building staff friendly and helpful. It's a short walk from the beach and a huge mall, one part of which houses an enormous supermarket. There is great access to the microbuses and collective taxis, the major modes of public transport, that can get you all around Vina, Valpo. or the coast. They seem to go anywhere/everywhere but there are no route maps, so you'll need to ask a local for advice. The apt. itself is attractively furnished and well laid out. The terrace runs the entire length of it, so it is bright and airy. The view is exactly as shown. (You'll hear traffic from the terrace, acceptable/expectable in a city.) The open plan of the kitchen, with it's huge island and living room,is great for entertaining with style or hanging out, and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook or host a gathering We really enjoyed being able to have our daughter's college friends and Chilean family over, inconceivable had we stayed in a hotel. (As is customary in Chile, there is no TV in the living room) The beds and couch were quite comfortable, there was plenty of hot water, and the showers have better pressure than ours at home. The bathrooms are stunning. Overall, a very pleasant and relaxing place to be. Last but not least, we had the pleasure of meeting Danilo and Eddie. They are warm, open, and really want you to enjoy your experience in Vina. You can't rent from better people. Notes: We ran out of time to to take advantage of most of of Eddie and Danilo's dining suggestions (I regret missing the buffet at the casino), but we did find the Pica de Martin, a seafood restaurant in hills between Renaca and Concon. Unimpressive from the outside, but the fish and shellfish were quite fresh (they have their own pescaderia), well-prepared, and great value. Coffee lovers: Bring your own brew. Chileans drink instant or tea at home. Selection of coffee for brewing is limited/expensive in stores. Apt. has an electric drip Hitachi. Try the municipal markets in Valpo for food, especially produce. Hustle/bustle, colorful, good prices. EVERY Chilean warned us to beware of thieves, but we had no problems. Try aceitunas naturales (alfonsos in the US)

For an awesome fully self contained (with some help if you ask for it) beachside condo experience look no further. Danilo and his crew have got everything covered. From the moment you arrive until the day it sadly comes to an end. The condo is fully decked out on the 6 floor of a posh new building with great pacific ocean views from every room. A short stroll from the casino for the players, across the round from the mall for the shoppers and opposite the beach for the water babies. Does not get much better. We have found a home away from home in Vina del Mar, can't wait to get back! Thanks for everything Danilo! Marcus

Comfortable and Luxurious with a Nice View

This was a great place to stay. We were able to cook, enjoy the balcony, walk to the beach, and use the pool. There is a grocery store in walking distance. Find it on a map and try the exotic local fruits. There are some interesting ones. Vina Del Mar and Valparaiso, also referred to as Valpo, are great places to visit in general. I recommend it to anyone visiting Chile. The sand dunes, ocean, and view of the Andes are all breathtaking!

This apartment is centrally located, fully equipped and comfortable. Great pools and sauna -- the heated indoor pool is great for cooler days. Close to the beach, shopping, restaurants. The only negative is that there is a bit of street noise. The owner was very helpful -- I would definitely stay there with my family again.

Vina del Mar is charming and this rental unit is just as lovely as pictured, if not more. It is well furnished, centrally located, easy walk to the beach. The Concierge staff were most gracious. We had wireless access, the use of the outdoor & indoor pool, a well furnished balcony to enjoy the sunsets from. The owners ensure all is well by checking in with you when you arrive. My family and I have had the pleasure of staying at this condoonce, and at the condo of Eddie's friend once. Eddie is a great host and he understands how to make difficult situations work. You can always expect a can do attitude from him and his associates. The condo is excellent; We thought that we were back in North America with all of the conveniences. We have been living for one year here in Chile so anytime we find something that is like being in America it is special treat for us. The location is awsome there is a supermarket near by and a mall also the beach is only about a block away so it is quite fantastic. Thanks again Eddie, and I am sorry about the late posting date.
