Great for a family gathering

We had a wonderful time staying in this cabin. The owner's and property manager went above and beyond it working it out for an early check in and we really appreciated that. We had family member's flying in from several parts of the country through Atlanta and needed an earlier check-in. The only little problem we had was while staying in other cabins we always found the basic necessities like shampoo, bar soap, hair dryers and such. This place did not supply that so just be sure to pack accordingly. Once we found a grocery store, which was close by, we were fine. The cabin is quite large and we had plenty of room to spread out for our own space when needed. We also enjoyed tea in the morning on the covered porch. It was very peaceful. Yes, we would come again, and we would highly recommend others to visit. For the price it was a perfect place for our gathering.

Not accessible for small children or handicapped

The cabin was comfortable and in average condition considering it was older than it appeared in the posting. The lower level was NOT easy to get to. It had a very narrow spiral staircase that led to the lower level basement. The only other way to get there was by going outside. We were very concerned about the safety of our grandchildren on this metal spiral staircase. This should have been listed in the listing. Anyone who is very large or who has mobility issues will have difficulties. This lower level had two bedrooms, a bath and a playroom with air hockey. On another note, the view from the deck was very nice. It was very relaxing in the rocking chairs on the deck. The hot tub on the deck was also a nice addition.

We had an wonderful visit with family in Tom's cabin. Scenic it is, we could see Christmas lights so beautiful from the porch. The 11 of us attended UTC's gratuation for our grandson and an early Christmas. The beds were confortable. Having three baths was great. I didn't hear one complant. We cooked two large meals the kitchen was wonderful. We had every thing we neede. Our gps found the cabin and we were close enough to go to store when we needed more pop. We recommend the property. It was peaceful and lovely.

Lovely Property with lots of extras

Guest: Heather (Harrison, TN )
Date of Stay: 12/09/11 Review Submitted: 12/12/11

My family enjoyed this wonderful cabin with so many useful unexpected extra amenities. For example, we enjoyed the board games and cards, an electric keyboard, hot tub and air hockey. The listing said there was a pool table, but there was actuallly an air hockey table - but we didn't mind because the whole family had plenty to do. We were delighted that there was a play pen for the little one, several spices stocked in the kitchen, coffee filters, dish and laundry detergents, etc... The owners have thought of everything! We were close enough to a grocery store but we still felt secluded and enjoyed the scenery from the deck. The cabin was clean and well maintained. We are already talking about the next visit to Tom's Cabin! I would encourage any one to stay at this property for a relaxing vacation.

Vacation 2011

Guest: Linda (Quincy, IL)
Date of Stay: 10/08/11 Review Submitted: 10/20/11

We had a wonderful stay. Had a little difficulty initially finding the address as our GPS couldn't locate after the turn accross the RR tracks. the cabin was perfect for our needs. the room with the bunk beds and full size bed was great for my son and daughter-in-law and 2 kids. Second son and his wife enjoyed the second lower level room. My daughter and son=in-law had the master suite since it was to celebrate her40th birthday that we were there. I had the main level bedroom with a really comfortable bed and my brother had the loft area. we could be together or not as we chose. The porch with the rockers was great with a beautiful peaceful view of the valley below and the fireplace in the living room was very enjoyable. The DVD player wasn't working so that was really the only problem. We went sight seeing and enjoyed Chattanooga a little each day then came back to sit in the hot tub and cook supper on the grill after which we built a fire an enjoyed cards and games. Since we came from Forida, Illinois, Missouri, and California and ranged in ages from 3 to 63 it was friendly to all and a perfect vacation setting.

We had soooo much fun!!!

Date of Stay: 07/09/11 Review Submitted: 07/24/11

Wow! This was a great vacation. We didn't know what to expect from this house, but it was great. Previous comments have noted the extra spaces, but there are nooks and crannies everywhere. Our two grandchildren loved exploring the house. Our children and their spouses loved that we each had our own 'personal" floor to spread out in. Here are some things to owners haven't mentioned. There is a queen sized bed in the fourth bedroom the bunk beds are in. We never, and I mean never, ran out of hot water. We ran at least six showers each morning and had plenty to spare. Lots of extra towels, and the kitchen was as well stocked as any regular kitchen. Rachel, the property manager, called us mid-week just to make sure we didn't need anything. We've rented other VRBO's and that's never happened. The house is convenient to all the attractions in the area, and we took advantage of this by visiting all of them. We highly recommend this property! Thanks again.

Great cabin

Guest: Madelyn (South Mississippi)
Date of Stay: 06/09/11 Review Submitted: 06/19/11

My family and I rented this cabin for 4 days 5 nights. We loved it. The back porch overlooking trees and gentle hills was spectacular. The accomodations were as advertised. Each family had his or her own space with room to spare. We spent one full day just enjoying the cabin and the surrounding area. Chattanooga was not far and we visited some of the attrations there--the acquarium and Rock City. Our stay was wonderful. The owners are particularly helpful and available. We recommend this cabin for a wonderful family vacation. Thank you

Secluded Real Log Cabin - Your Kids Will Love It

Guest: KU Jayhawk (Kansas City, KS)
Date of Stay: 05/22/11 Review Submitted: 05/29/11

I have done several VRBO's, and this one actually delivered as advertised. The cabin was beautifully and comfortably furnished for our family of eight. Air hockey downstairs, fully furnished kitchen, and a huge covered back porch with rocking chairs, a large hot tub, and a view to die for. The cabin is on a secluded hill and blissfully quiet (save the rooster down the valley that will greet you each morning). We were 20-25 minutes from all of the major attractions. We did the Incline Railway, Lookout Mountain, Rock City, Ruby Falls, and the TN Aquarium. Dad Freebie Alert - About 1.5 hours north in Pikeville TN is Fall Creek Falls. You can hike down to the base of a 250+ foot waterfall. Beautiful (and yes, free) park to explore if you run out of things to do in Chattanooga. The folks that manage this property were very responsive, patient with questions, and a pleasure to work with. If you have a large family or group, I strongly encourage you to check out this property. It was delightful for our whole family, and a place that we would not hesitate to stay at again.

Owner response:Thank you so much for your glowing review Scott! It was a pleasure having you and your family stay with us. We didn't know about the falls at Pikeview. We will have to check it out ourselves! We hope you come back and stay with us again! Thanks, Marty & Terri Norburg

Beautiful Cabin

We had a great stay at this cabin. It was a beautiful and peaceful place and great for a relaxing family reunion! There were several nooks for reading and getting away from the crowd, but also a nice dining table and living room for visiting. Bring your own shampoo, otherwise it was well-stocked. We would have liked to stay longer :-)
