This was our first time renting a vacation home and the experience was amazing. Checking in and out was less hassle than most hotels and we were feeling at home within a couple of hours of our arrival. The accomodations were more than adequate, we are a family who would rather cook than eat out so we thouroughly enjoyed the spacious kitchen. We skied every day of our stay and the hot tub was as much appreciated as the comfortable beds (I may have slept better here than I do at home). The house is as beautiful as the views it provides, you could plan what runs you wanted to ski standing at the picture window in the living room. The furnishings were perfect, accented the home but cozy and inviting as well. The only suggestion we have is larger water heaters, that day one lesson was a little chilly. We are already talking about next year.

Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.

Excellent Stay - right after the prior review

Our family along with some friends stayed here over spring break and absolutely LOVED it. Everything (including the hot tub) worked great except the microwave was a little slow to heat things up. The house was beautiful, warm, had magnificent views and plenty of room for everyone to have their space or get together and play a game. The furnishings were nice looking and comfortable. Most importantly for my wife - it was very clean. The booking experience was very good and the caretaker was welcoming and helpful. We would definitely stay there again on our next Breck Break.

Recommended for:Girls getaway, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.

There are many beautiful homes for rent in Breckenridge - DON'T RENT THIS ONE

I recently rented this house for a weekend trip with a group to celebrate a special occasion—a friend's 40th birthday. We picked this house both for its size and because of the amenities advertised, including a hot tub and large kitchen (since we intended to cook our own meals at the home). When we arrived, a property management company employee met us at the house and told us she had checked over the property and everything was in working order (including the hot tub). The house looked beautiful on the surface and we had no reason to doubt this. However...we later found out that the hot tub was broken and, among other things, the stove/microwave was malfunctioning and the hot water in the master suite was less than reliable. We contacted the management company as soon as we discovered this, but the hot tub was not fixed during our stay and we were never able to use it. The other issues were reported when we checked out. When we first called the property manager to report the broken hot tub, she was shocked and upset that the hot tub was not working and claimed to understand our frustration with the situation. She also agreed that some sort of refund/offer was appropriate given that we did not even consider rental properties without a hot tub. However, as time passed, it became clear that the property manager & owner did not care about our stay at all and were simply trying to give us the run-around rather than address the issues with the house (they even tried to claim that we were at fault because we should have checked the hot tub when we arrived to CONFIRM whether it was actually functioning). I could go on, but the point is, do NOT stay here. There are many of other beautiful properties for rent in the area on VRBO; I have stayed in other homes in Breckenridge and had a fantastic stay thanks to VRBO owners who actually seem to understand the concept of customer service. These owners don't fall into that category. Avoid the very real possibility that the amenities advertised are not the amenties that will actually be available when you arrive...and DON'T stay here.

Please find below our reasons. It is such a shame that the clients have acted in this manner but it is not unexpected. After agreeing to a very special rate for this group of 10 people for a 2 night stay at our beautiful home our staff acted as always in a professional manner. Our housekeeper was there to greet them upon their arrival, show them around the property and hand over the keys. The clients arrived on the Friday, the following day (Saturday) they went to use the Hot Tub and it did not reach temperature, the client called our manager who immediately called out the hot tub maintenance engineer who arrived at the home within the hour. Unfortunately, the pump had failed and they needed to completely drain the tub prior to reinstalling the new pump which was quickly repaired during their stay. As the clients were without the hot tub for a few hours we offered them a free night at the property later in the year when they were available to take up the offer or an appropriate cash refund for the inconvenience. To date we have not had the clients decision as to which offer they would prefer to take-up. As far as the microwave is concerned it was working and the clients had been making pop corn in it – our housekeeper found the proof on the floor - popcorn kernels. We have many properties listed on VRBO and I am happy to say that we have never had the likes of this before – this is not a correct review of our lovely home and we personally feel that VRBO should not permit this review to be posted. I look forward to hearing the VRBO Team response.

We have just returned from our week at Aspen Lodge, in Breckenridge, and we wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had! The location for the lodge is perfect - such a peaceful spot, with amazing views of the peaks from the decks (and hot tub!) and in fact fantastic views from every window. Yet at the same time its no distance at all to Breckenridge Main Street or ski-ing - far less of a distance than we had expected. The lodge itself is fabulous - we loved the interior and the open plan central living space. It was more than a home from home! And of course Emily - she was fantastic. She made us feel really welcome (especially after our rather long journey to get there) and looked after us extremely well. She seems to have the balance just right in terms of getting involved and chatting with us versus blending into the fabric of the lodge and just looking after us and making our stay so relaxing. We really couldn't think of any way to improve the lodge! We're very much looking forward to our next stay at a Rocksure property!
