"Bluewater" cottage was totally renovated in 2000 and is one of 17 properties that overlook the main park, which slopes down to the pier, docks, and anchorage on Penobscot Bay. The park includes a basketball court and children's playground as well as lots of green grass shaded by several tall oaks. It is an ideal oasis for those wishing to enjoy time in a bygone era being in the midst of a summer community on Penobscot Bay.
Bayside began as a Methodist community in the 1800's and is similar to Oak Bluffs on Martha's Vineyard in terms of the gingerbread and Victorian architecture of the cottages and the community containing several peaceful parks. This is ideal for families as there is a sailing program at the Northport Yacht Club, a small beach, a swim dock, a dingy dock that is also used for fishing, and the main park which is literally steps away from the cottage. The Northport Golf Course, a charming nine hole public course with a classic 1920s clubhouse is a short walk from the cottage and has a a driving range and putting green. Kayakers will revel in Bayside's ideal location on the shores of Penobscot Bay, a world renowned kayaking and sailing destination. Visitors with kayaks can use the beach as a jumping off spot to explore the coast or just a quiet morning or evening paddle. Two sit on top style kayaks are available at the cottage for use by renters. Visitors wishing to motor or sail on the bay have the option of renting the cottage's mooring and keeping their boat within easy eyesight of the cottage. Hikers will love the many trails that wind through Camden Hills State Park, located approximately 20 minutes from Bayside. Views from some of the park's trails include panoramic views of Penobscot Bay and its numerous islands. For anyone wishing to visit an island, the ferry to 14 mile long Islesboro, located three miles off the coast of Bayside, leaves on the hour from Lincolnville, a short drive from Bayside. Cyclists will especially enjoy the quiet roads that run from one end of the island to the other as well as a visit to Turtlehead Beach. There are also many opportunities for shopping, sightseeing and visiting the area's many art galleries in the nearby harbor town of Belfast, located three miles north of Bayside, and in Camden, a 20 minute drive to the south. Visitors wishing for more adventures can find endless hiking and cycling opportunities in Acadia National Park, a 90 minute drive from Bayside and located near legendary Bar Harbor.
The cottage has a pine interior throughout and along with the granite countertops, there is a gas stovetop with complete kitchen. The living area is an open floor plan with living room with couches, the kitchen with breakfast bar, and a dining area. The floors are wide pine. There is a large and smaller glass top table on the porch for your family to relax and enjoy all of your meals. There are 3 bedrooms which consist of one with twin beds, one with bunk beds and a loft, and a larger bedroom with a queen bed. There is a full bath upstairs and 3/4 bath downstairs. There is a basement with a washer and dryer and another refrigerator. This a perfect family rental or rental for several couples. So, bring your bikes, your walking shoes, and prepare to have a wonderful week in well appointed cottage in one of the most wonderful places on the coast of Maine.

- Bayside is a wonderful vacation spot for those who simply enjoy a morning walk or cycle on quiet streets or along Shore Road. Many other activities are easily accessible should the spirit so move you. The Northport Yacht Club is in view of the cottage and has a sailing program for children 9 thru 15, Monday Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 9 to noon. Pay by the week or by the day. Private lessons also available. Visitors with children will love the many opportunities to meet and play with other children visiting Bayside. The beach, pier, park and sailing school all provide an easy way for children to find new friends and make the most of their stay in Bayside. A full time life guard is on the pier every day to oversee the swimmers who use the swim float and jump off the pier (over and over and over again...). In the evenings, the pier and the dinghy dock are available to those who like to cast a fishing line in hopes of a mackerel or striped bass for the frying pan.

May 30th-June 26th .. $1100/week.
June 26th-Sept 11th .. $1450/week.
Sep 11th-Oct 30th .. $1150/week.
Rental is from Saturday to Saturday or by special arrangement, by the day.
Half of rent, security deposit, and tax due upon reservation.
Check out is by 10 am and check begins at 3 pm. $75.00 cleaning fee.
Security deposit of $300 required. 7% state lodging tax additional.
Full payment of rent due 60 days before rental date.
