Enjoy a month (or more) in Paradise.
Private cozy apartment on gated acre estate offers the viewing of sunsets on a private beach adjoining a boat dock with a boat house. A perfect spot for relaxation, and enjoying the fun and beauty of the Florida Keys !!!

Apartment offers the feel of the old keys and is located privately on a shaded acre estate bayside in downtown Islamorada MM 82.5. This place is special....

Visitors can enjoy the use of the private bayside beach, the outside cabana, the boat dock and boat house, the wooded acreage complete with waterfall and bridge.

This place 'feels good' and is welcoming for someone who wants to enjoy the basics, the nature of the Florida Keys. Unlike all the other fancy places, this spot is for someone who wants to enjoy beauty of the keys....the sunsets, the boating, the swimming while relaxing.

While you enjoy the bayside views with that remote feeling, it is hard to realize that you are actually in downtown Islamorada and so close to a large variety of restaurants, stores and activities.

My wife and I just returned from our first trip to the Keys. We spent a couple of days in Key West with the remaining time at this place in Islamorada. I agree with one of the other reviewers...it feels more like a cottage than an apartment. It was very comfortable, clean and served our needs very well. Linda and John were very helpful offering their kayaks, bicycles and information about the area openly. We felt right at home here. Honestly, when we were down at the water it felt like we were on our own private beach. You can stay here if you just need to get away to relax/unwind or this is a great place to be for 'day trips' as well. There is much to do in the area to keep anyone occupied for the week and more. We would definitely stay here again given the opportunity and would highly recommend it.

This was my wife and I's fourth trip to the Keys, but first time staying in Islamorada. After internet hunting and reading all the reviews, we decided on this one. It is a great secluded location away from the hustle and bustle of Key West. Key West is a easy day trip if need be. John and Linda are such great host and we felt very welcome and comfortable. My wife even agrees with me that a return trip will be coming. We saw a manitee off the beach point the first day we were there. We accidently broke the coffee pot, which Linda sead was no big deal and my wife left her hat, which Linda graciously mailed home to us. Very fine people. Plenty of resturants, a bicycle ride away. I would highly recommend the apartment.

This listing, in my opinion, was over-the-top-wonderful in every way. The online description is very accurate (except I think "cottage" describes the rental better than "apartment") and the pictures, which seem too good to be true, actually do reflect what is there. It is very private, the hosts are delightful, the landscape has the look and feel of a botanical garden, the cottage is clean, cozy, comfortable, and abounding in lovely, whimsical touches. In the morning, we took our coffee and sat by the water to watch the water, birds, iguanas, spectacular cloud formations and whatever else there was to see. In the evenings we returned to watch absolutely spectacular sunsets. We brought our boat, which we moored right at the dock on the property for the entire week we were there, plus I enjoyed kayaking. We would definitely recommend this listing to any couple having an appreciation of nature and beautiful surroundings, yet desiring the convenient proximity of any number of nice restaurants and interesting shops.

We have stayed on the estate for the month of March in both 2011 and 2012. Returning again for March 2013. The apartment is cozy, clean and well equiped. The grounds are spectular, your own private beach from which to use the provided Kayaks and watch the gorgeorus sunsets. Islamorada's reputation for great fishing is well deserved. Have taken several charters with great success each time. The location is close to restuarents and attractions. The owners, John and Linda, couldn't be more gracious. They are happy to provide advice and assistance, yet leave you alone to enjoy the grounds. Ideal for a couple who wants to be near great attractions yet have the privilage of complete privacy.

My husband and I stayed here for four nights in April, 2011. Not only was the weather magnificent, but the owners were friendly and helpful. The apartment was quaint, clean, and ideally located. We made use of their double kayak on a daily basis, cruising around the bay, taking some great pictures. The house and apartment are in a lush, beautiful environment. It was very peaceful and quiet.

My wife and I only had a few days off from work, and wanted to do something for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. Somewhere we didn't have to do a lot of traveling. Well, we found it, Paradise. We could not be more impressed with the property and the owners, John and Linda. John and Linda were very kind and helpful from the very beginning. They were always there if you needed anything, but never intruded on our privacy. Everything was wonderful. The apartment, the grounds and "our private beach". We really didn't need to go anywhere else. We loved the apartment, very clean, plenty of room and we loved the beach decor. Very tropical. It really set the mood. Every morning we sat on "our private beach," and had coffee. Every night we sat and watched the sun set. Absolutely breathtaking! We went swimming, snorkeling and used the kayaks that were provided for us right off the property. The entire property was so beautiful, we didn't want to go anywhere else. We were very close to lot of activities. Shopping, dining and we even swam with the dolphins at the aquarium right down the road. We loved it. We drove a short distance to Pennekamp park and went scuba diving. The people at the park and the boat crew that helped us were incredibly nice. So many fish around us and we watched a sting ray for quite some time. One of the best dives I’ve done to date. We took a drive to Key West for an afternoon. We really enjoyed the drive down Highway 1. The Pictures on the site, really do this property no justice. We couldn't have asked for a better romantic get away for our anniversary. Everything was absolutely, "Breathtaking"!

My husband and I travelled from Ontario to this great property in Oct/10. It was as beautiful as the pictures indicate! We enjoyed a bike ride for breakfast one morning and fed the Tarpin fish. Picked up take out seafood and a bottle of wine and watched the most beautiful sunset right from the private beach on the property. The cottage was very clean and accomadating. We plan on returning to this property and have referred friends too! Thanks for a great holiday! Chris and Tracey

This was the first time we tried VRBO, and we sure picked a winner because everything was as described. The food at the nearby restaurants was outstanding. We went to Lazy Days with oceanfront dining, Bentley's was right across the street where the seafood melted in your mouth, The Green Turtle (turtle soup and dolphin appetizer), and Snapper's up the road in Key Largo (the last had "Gator Bites" which were very tasty...about mile marker 94, if memory serves). We really enjoyed having your own private beach any time of day and took our coffee out there in the morning and had a beer in the evening to watch the sun go down. The apartment off of the house was very nice, comfortable and clean. We were close to several activities, went to nearby Anne's Beach, and went snorkeling at John Pennekamp State Park where we saw our first nurse shark in the coral reef. We also took a day to drive down to tour Key West. Overall, the peace and quiet was incredibly relaxing. If you prefer to do your own cooking, the nearby Islamorada Fish Company restaurant has a market where you can buy fresh seafood. John and Linda are very nice and gave good recommendations on where to go. We would have liked to stay one more day to use the kayaks they provide. They are also are right: After you see all of the Keys, Islamorada is the jewel of them all.

My hubby and I have used VRBO for years, and this was the best experience yet! John and Linda were wonderful and helpful, the one-acre estate was beautiful beyond description, and watching the sunsets from your own private beach was worth the trip! The cottage was clean, well-equipped, and charming. There were kyaks, bicycles, and fishing equipment for use of the guests. You can walk into Florda Bay down the steps from your own private beach, kayak from your own "back yard," lay in one of the lounge chairs under your own palm trees, sit under the giant ficus tree, and of course, relax by the ocean and watch the famous Keys sunsets! You could walk or bike to dinner or the store if you wanted, but there is plenty of easy parking right in front of the cottage if you have a car. I would highly recommend this for a couple who want some peace and quiet, but also want to be within driving distance of anything else you want to do in the Florida Keys. We visited Key West, went snorkeling and scuba diving, and hired a fishing charger (30-pound tarpon on light tackle and we caught enough other fish to eat three nights at the cottage!).
