I stayed here with several friends while visiting Tempe for a weekend. The unit is very nice with new appliances, tasteful decor, lots of amenities, and a stunning enclosed backyard patio with great landscaping. Everyone really enjoyed the stay. I think what was most impressive to me was all the little touches the owner has put into this place. There were detailed instructions posted everywhere for things like Internet access, how to use the printer, and there were even labels on the light switches so that you wouldn't have to fumble around figuring out what each one does. There was also a map posted on the wall with hand-made call outs for various restaurants/stores in the area. It is great to walk into a place where all of the guesswork has been taken away and you can just enjoy your stay without the stress you normally have to deal with when you are in an unfamiliar house. I highly recommend staying at this unit. It was a blast and the owner is a real pro - he should give lessons to other vacation rental owners on to how best to run a rental unit.

Spring Training With Old Friends in the Perfect Setting

We couldn't have asked for a better place! The property was private, clean, larger than expected, and had a beautifully well landscaped front yard. The house was in a nice and peaceful area of Tempe, where neighbors wouldn't hesitate to say hi when driving by (more friendly than neighbors I've known for years back home). The location is centrally located, not more than a mile or two from Grocery Stores, Banks, and a plethora of restaurants to choose from (recommend Back East Bagel. Best around!). Mill Ave is only a 10 min drive if you are looking for the Bar Scene and the Angels, A's, and Giants Spring Training facilities are within 20 mins. Overall, all 8 of us had an amazing time out in the desert and we would love to make this a yearly tradition at Dan's property. We only wished the lazy river was a little deeper than 18 inches or so! Otherwise, no complaints at all. It is a must stay for all ages, groups, and families.

This was our third stay at Lazy River and it felt like coming home. As before, Dan had everything ready for us and went out of his way to see that we were comfortable. The property is very clean and well maintained and much nicer than the photos can convey. We love the attractive new overhang and beautiful tile running along the front patio and the newly-painted exterior is a lovely, warm color. Absolutely perfect! Every time we come, there are upgrades! The house is wonderful for entertaining and the yard is a delight. We enjoyed meals on the patio, with the gentle splashing of the lazy river in the background. We highly recommend this rental--the location is great, the neighborhood quiet, and the accommodations exceptional.

This is my second time staying here for Ironman Arizona. It is the perfect home away from home and a calm oasis in the chaos of Ironman. Just of the beaten path enough to calm the nerves, yet in a quite neighborhood and plenty of room for extended family. Dan is wonderful and makes things so easy. The beds are comfy and backyard is a perfect oasis. Thank you Dan for taking care of us yet again. Looking forward to the next time.

My wife and I recently visited Tempe to visit our daughter who is a student at ASU. We are from Missouri and also wanted to see the ASU-Missouri game and wow what a game! We stayed in Dan's Lazy River home and have to say that it was wonderful. Dan saw to it that all our needs were met and we were comfortable. We brought a couple of friends with us and they also loved the home. We had our daughter and several of her friends over one day for a barbecue and the back yard and lazy river were both a hit. We are planning another trip to Tempe in the spring and wanted to book this home for then too but it was already spoken for. We were however, able to book another one of Dan's properties for that trip. Thanks for everything, Dan.

MLB All Star weekend

We really enjoyed our 5 days at Dan's place. There were four of us that traveled down for the MLB All start weekend festivities and we all enjoyed the time while there. The house was perfect for our group as we each had our own bedroom. We didn't stay at the house very long because of our activities but while there we were very comfortable. The beds were comfortable and everything advertised about the house was accurate and spot on. The location was ideal and very convenient to the highways and commute to downtown. Shopping and restaurants were nearby and the ASU Karsten golf course was only 5 minutes away. I would certainly stay there again and would recommend this house for families or a medium size group.

Gorgeous, quiet, perfect

We had a fantastic experience staying here. We rented two houses from Dan and he was a fantastic help. Before arriving he was very kind answering all my questions about the area. Upon arrival he made sure we had everything we needed. He even brought us extra large serving plates (since we were planning a party) from his own house for us to use and fresh tomatoes from his garden! The house is very well maintained. It is VERY clean. It is well stocked with everything that you could hope for. But it is the little touches that really set Dan's properties apart. For example, every light switch in the house is labeled, no guessing as to what it will turn on or trying every switch. We called this house "river" because of the backyard. It is DELIGHTFUL!!!!! We sat outside every night enjoying the water flowing and beautiful decorative lights. Even though you are close to everything wen you are by the river you feel miles from everything. The location of this house is great. It is in a quiet neighborhood but in a very short drive you can reach the shops, restaurants, highways, and ASU. It is also very helpful to have two beautiful rental properties in an easy short walk apart. Our group went between the two house frequently and were very happy with the arrangement. If I find myself back in Tempe I will definitely rent from Dan again. Really wonderful properties and helpful landlord!!!!

This was the perfect house in the perfect location. There were 5 of us but there are enough sleeping arrangements to fit at least 10 people. We have rented houses and condos before in different parts of the country and this surpasses all of them with all of the amenities included. All in all, this was a great experience.

This house was exactly what we were looking for during our stay in Tempe. It's a great location close to ASU and Tempe Town Lake. The house is very nice with an adorable backyard. It was the perfect size for our group of 8. Dan is very accomodating and helpful. The price was also incredibly reasonable.

Our family came to Phoenix for our son's graduation from ASU and stayed here at Dan's place. It was perfect for us. The 4 bedrooms gave everyone a comfortable place to sleep and we loved having the kitchen to prepare our meals and snacks in. The patio and Lazy River are so lovely and a wonderful place for us to sit and relax with our family and friends. It was a convenient location and great access to Campus, restaurants, grocery store and everything. This house is in a nice quiet neighborhood which was a plus to us. If you come for a visit to ASU, this place is perfect. I have recommended Dan's place to all my friends and family. Dan is great and he exceeded our expecations. !!!! Don't worry if you rent this one...you will love it!!

We were very happy with our choice… Our stay was very comfortable. Dan was very accommodating and helpful… The pictures do reflect accurately what you will get … We were able to take advantage of the unique backyard and made good use of the patio and barbeque grill. My wife, 15 year old daughter and I were delighted with this property on our spring break visit to Tempe. We enjoyed our visit to the nearby Taliesin West location of the Frank Lloyd Wright school of architecture and used this house as a "home" base for an overnight trip to the Grande Canyon. The high walled enclosed garden with its "river" was a perfect oasis retreat from our several serious shopping excursions. The house is well equipped and in excellent condition. Dan was helpful and accommodating and our deposit was returned as promised. Another highly recommendable VRBO gem!

This was our first experience with VRBO and we are now forever spoiled. This rental is as close to perfection as we could have found: It felt like home from the moment Dan greeted us and showed us around. The house is clean and well-maintained, spacious and charming, with a wall of sliding glass doors that open to the yard and give amazing views from the entire living area. When the doors are open, the fresh air and water sounds are wonderful. We appreciated the great kitchen and appliances, comfortable beds, fast wireless connection, and more TV channels than we expected for "basic cable." In fact, everything about this experience was better than we had hoped for. The real treasure here is the huge, beautifully landscaped yard with its burbling brook and flowering trees and shrubs that attract a steady show of hummingbirds and songbirds. We so enjoyed having lunches on the patio; between the high walls and delightful sound of water splashing over rocks, it's a private paradise. Great place to read. The neighborhood is quiet and fun to explore on walks. The location is terrific, so close to everything: The Botanical Gardens, Phoenix Zoo, Trader Joe's!, IMAX theaters, live performances, great restaurants and shopping, and even Blue Grass Jams (Dan's son plays a mean fiddle!) Dan is an exceptional owner/manager and we became instant friends. He was always just a phone call away and made himself totally available should anything come up. Just knocked himself out to make sure we were comfortable. He could not have been more accommodating. One thing you can rely on: If you are in one of Dan's rental properties, he will take good care of you. We cannot wait to return to this idyllic, special home.

This place was awesome. I have been to the Phoenix area 3 times and have stayed in a rental home owned by Dan twice. I will not stay anywhere else. The house is gorgeous and most importantly, Dan is a great host. He is always available and willing to help out with any needs. The house is awesome to come home to. The backyard with the lazy river and BBQ grill is great. The kitchen was comfortable even with 3 people trying to cook at the same time. It was stocked with everything we needed. The house is located in an area that is convenient to local highways. I wish I had a "Dan" in every city I go to.

My family and I stayed in this rental home on a recent trip back to AZ for a graduation ceremony. I have rented vacation homes in the past and this home is by far the best experience we have ever had. The home was incredibly clean, well- equipped, and cozy - yet it had a very spacious feeling that allowed for privacy even with 5 family members there. The location of this property could not be better - Minutes from the airport, downtown Tempe/ASU, Scottsdale, and the surrounding areas. The back yard is a real gem. We spent an entire day sitting in the beautiful AZ weather listening to the splashing 'lazy river.' When I booked the property online from Seattle, I had a friend in Tempe go check out the place because I was skeptical given the excellent rate/night. My friend called me back with a glowing description and she was not wrong! Finally, I can not say enough good things about the owner/manager, Dan. He was extremely accommodating and went above and beyond the expected to make our stay an amazing experience. We stayed just before Christmas and hosted a graduation party. He brought over extra tables and chairs, strung Christmas lights outside and set us up with tiki torches. What an incredible guy and incredible services! We will never stay in a hotel when coming back to AZ for a stay. Even if there are just my husband and I, it is cheaper than a hotel and much, much nicer! Thanks Dan, you will be seeing more of us! 10/10

I stayed at Lazy River and 6 other friends while we attended a seminar in Tempe during September and November 2009. I was concerned at first that Dan did not take credit card payments and this could be a scam. I talked to Dan and took a chance and it was the best decision I could have made. Lazy River is a beautiful home. It is spacious, clean and comfortable. I loved hearing the rushing water in the backyard. I would highly recommend Lazy River and doing business with Dan and his other properties. He is integral and friendly and I will definitely stay at Lazy River again when in Tempe.

My husband, myself and our two teenagers and my sons friend stayed at this beautiful property for Thanksgiving break. Dan was so very helpful and made our stay extremely comfortable. We will stay here again next time visiting Tempe. The house had more room than we needed, and the lovely backyard was so inviting, the kids loved sitting out there talking. The location is perfect, close to everything you need. We saw ASU football and Ice Hockey and did lots of shopping which is also close by. We can't wait to stay at this amazing property again!

Dan did such a great job making us feel at home and was even willing to loan us his crockpot for our group dinner one night! We were in town for the annual AZ States Frisbee Tournament (34th year) and usually stay in a hotel; however, given the numer of us who wanted to be comfortable and not deal with a hotel's limitations - we opted for the first time to rent a vacation house. We will definitely make this choice again and hopefully return to this very house. It's very comfortable, relaxing and provided us plenty of room to be together when preparing for or decompressing from the 4 day flying disc competition in nearby Scottsdale. Thanks for making our visit so pleasant! And, our other competitor friends (staying at a hotel) who dropped by to visit were quite jealous that we were staying in this gorgeous place! (ha-ha!)

This house was excellent for close access to ASU and local freeways. We loved the 'Lazy River'. Listening to the sounds of the gurgling water and watching the numerous butterflies visit the blooming bushes made this a place worth returning to. Dan was most hospitable greeting us at the house and assisting us as we played tourist.
