  Well Dennis and Kathy, you have the most wonderful place at Hale Mahina, condo B404. We arrived at night and were so pleased when we walked in to a place more fantastic than we imagined. In the morning we then saw the view we had and now understood why we could hear the surf so clearly, its so close, funny at first we thought the surf sound was loud as we had the screens only open, but night two it is the most soothing sound you will hear and unfortunately miss when you leave. Everything is there, day gear like all your masks and fins, boogy boards, cooler bags, you don't need to buy anything but ice, chiller packs are already in the freezer ! The condo is so well set out, could be for two couples, or mum dad and the kids. The main bedroom, the loft has a view of the water when you wake up and you don't have to get out of bed for that, on suit is well appointed, nice shower. Didn't try the other on suite but our guest said it was great. kitchen was fantastic, huge fridge and everything you would ever want. You can come to this idillic place and can just chill out at the pool and beach or head off on a day trip and come back for the pool and beach. We saw so many turtles at "our beach" they swim with you, or more go by you. Can't say enough about Terry who is filling in for Larry at present, just as strict and that's the way it should be, this is what helps make the place so special. Ask Terry for the $15 tempory membership to the Lahaina Yacht Club or if you are a member of a yacht club from home, bring your membership card with you, they welcome with you with open arms and the food and drink is extemley good and well priced, right in the middle of town and over the water ! If you want to party hard, please go somewhere else or will be dissapointed and leave this place for the people who strive for piece and quiet. We chose to have a week at Hale Mahina, Maui first and then back to Waikiki for a week. This had been our first visit to Maui and we had been to Waikiki last year and decided to come again and be adventurous and go to maui as well. Next year is already planned, two weeks at the Hale Mahina, thank you Dennis and Kathy your place has made this our best holiday. Didn't really want to tell the world and keep it to the lucky people who have been and will return, but you guys deserve it, we will be recommending your place to all our good like minded friends.   We had a great experience at this condo. Dennis was friendly, prompt in returning my calls and made the booking process easy and flexible plus didn't hesitate to give lots of advice on things his family loves to do and places to shop and eat. When we arrived the condo was immaculately clean, fresh towels, and very comfortable bedding. There was some basic condiments and a small welcome package of coffee, brochures, etc. We met Larry, the property manager right away. I must admit we were somewhat nervous in booking, having 2 children, ages 6 and 9 based on previous reviews I had read concerning how strict Larry is. It's all nonsense. He was wonderful with our kids, never hesitating to say Hi and even gave us free tickets to see the PGA tour. The grounds are immaculate and quiet, a perfect place to unwind.The pool was small and cold so the kids didn't spend much time in it but the consistent waves and private beach in front of the condo made a perfect playground instead. There's even some small tidal pools that my son loved to check out further down the beach. The beds in this unit are so comfortable. Too many times my husband and I have returned from a vacation with bad backs...these beds are top of the line. The water pressure in all of the showers is great and we never ran out of hot water. The unit has no air conditioning but with the mountain tradewinds and the abundance of fans it was never a problem cooling off at night. This building is silent as of 10-11pm at night, so not a place to stay if you like to party but wonderful if you're in Maui to relax...especially with young children. There is an organic farmers market,the best coffee shop ever(Bad Ass Coffee Co.) and playground within walking distance plus a fresh fish market and huge, economical grocery store within less than a 5minute drive away.We enjoyed meals at Castaway Cafe(Fairly inexpensive, delicious and oceanfront) at Kaanapali Villas and Dukes at the Honuakai. If fast food is your thing McDonalds was less than 5minutes the opposite way.I also can't forget to mention the whales that we watched all day everyday right from our balcony or the beach.Plus there is a family of endangered green sea turtles that feed daily in the rocks in front of the condo, you can't miss them. If you're looking for a central, safe and mellow condo with a beautiful ocean view you can't go wrong with this unit.

  Most relaxing vacation we have ever experienced! B-404 was the condo we stayed in. It is decorated very nice. Everything we needed was supplied by the owner. The unit does not have air condition but all rooms have overhead fans plus additional fans that can be used if needed. All the rooms have good ventalation and are very comfotable. We slept like a log. The kitchen was well equiped as we ate in most of the time (18 days) we were there. There are plenty of resturants available a short drive away that have excellent food plus a grocery store near by. There are only 52 units in this complex so it is very quiet. You have an excellent view of the ocean and sunsets from your patio. You do NOT get this in most resorts unless you pay an extravient amount of money. We will be back again and we will recommend B-404 to all of our friends. The owner also has another unit A-307 which we were able to see while we were there. This unit is a one bedroom and is decorated very nicely. We met a couple staying in this unit from Canada and they were very pleased. Their teen age daughters told their parents that this is one of the best places that they have ever stayed. They are coming back in Dec to stay again in this unit. When my wife and I come back by ourselves or with another couple we would stay in A-307. We highly recommend either B-404 or A-307 to anyone that wants to experience paradise. Again, these units have excecellent ocean and sunset views plus a beach, ocean and pool swimming, grass area to relax in in your chase lounges and BBQ's for everyone.

  “We really loved our stay at the Hale Mahina. It was wonderful to have our own little stretch of beach along with the beautifully kept lawn area. We really appreciated how quiet and peaceful the condo was. Having the lawn chairs, pool and hot tub just capped off a great relaxing facility. B404 was a lovely and clean unit, with an unbelievable view of the beach and ocean. We really appreciated that the kitchen already had some basics, like coffee, soap, salt and pepper etc. In some places we have stayed, we weren't even allowed to leave non-perishables behind for the next person. The bathrooms look like they have been upgraded recently and were so cute. But a couple shelves in the upstairs bath would be nice for toiletries. We LOVED hearing the ocean 24 hours a day. Overall, a wonderful condo and facility. The good management there was appreciated!”
