Map & Owner's Profile
Kite Beach Lookout
Year Purchased: 2008
Why the Owner Chose Hood River
Hood River is very close to Seattle (where I live) and has some of the best wind in the world for kiting. The mountain biking trails are also world class. A summer place with my two favorite sports rolled into one is hard to beat!
The Unique Benefits at this House
I can't imagine a better place to stay in the Gorge. We love having breakfast at the dining room table, while watching the wind build on the water. When we're ready, it's a short drive down to the Event site to rig and launch our kites. At the end of a day on the water, there's nothing better than relaxing on the deck overlooking the Columbia.
Owner's Map of Hood River
I bought Kite Beach Lookout in the spring of 2008, after spending the last few years kiting in the Gorge. I now spend several weeks there every summer kiting with my girlfriend. She's a wonderful cook and therefore the kitchen is stocked with all the cooking instruments that she needs to whip up her gourmet meals!
Together, we spend most of the winters snowboarding, with some tropical kiting vacations thrown in to keep us sane. :)
We hope that you enjoy your holiday at Kite Beach Lookout!

Our week long stay at Kite Beach Lookout was everything we hoped for and more. This house is a vacation paradise with all the amenities. All you need is food. The kitchen was fully stocked, the house was very clean, and the beds were very comfortable. I would highly recommend Kite Beach Lookout as a great place to stay in Hood River. The view from the deck is exceptional and the location is perfect. Close enough to take the stairs to downtown, plus you get a workout coming back up. Also included in the house was lots of info on things to do in the gorge, maps, and local magazines to help you enjoy Hood River.
