More than we'd hoped for

When we drove down Sunset Lane and realized we'd found the camp, we couldn't have been any happier. Amazing location and all the comforts of home. The camp could easily be considered a second home and clearly, the owners take pride in the place. The moose decor is fabulous - everywhere you look, another moose! I spent every moment I could sitting on the patio where the view of the lake is breathtaking. I'd watch the early morning fog slowly burn off and welcome another beautiful day. Mike did quite a bit of kayaking; such easy access to the water! The fishing wasn't great, but some of the locals had some luck. Speaking of the locals - everyone we met during our stay was really nice and helpful. The outside fire pit was fun - we had a few fires while we were there and the s'mores couldn't have been yummier. I could write, write and write some more about how much we loved it, but words can't adequately describe it; you'll need to try it for yourself. I have little doubt that we'll stay here again; it met our expectations and so much more! Cathy Gustafson Bowdoinham, Maine

I'm reluctant to review this place, as I want it to be available for when I want to rent it..... If you are looking for a relaxing, quiet place to "get away".... this may be for you. The sunsets, on the porch are stunning.... If you can find you way to the next lake to the SouthWest (Square Lake), and get some tips from the locals (see the guys at the local country store), you can catch some great lake trout and LandLocked Salmon. The cabin is clean, and everything you need, is already there. (just bring your food, beverages, and such....) ---- oh.... and the stars.... after living the city life for so many years..... I forgot how many stars are "up there"..... light a bon-fire down by the lake, and sit back and enjoy.....

This is a fancy nearly new camp located on one of the nicest spots in Northern Maine. It's on the point where the Mud Lake thoroufare flows into Cross Lake with a 270 deg. water view. The camp has every appliance possible and it was quite a treat to wash and dry damp clothes on a fishing trip. We were there between May 3 and May 11, 2011, as the ice went out and had fantastic fishing. We caught several salmon between 21 and 25" and brook trout up to 21". You don't even need a boat. The wildlife is amazing and the sunsets are spectacular. There are camps neaby but it can be a private as you want without being stuck out in the woods. We may try to come back in the Fall for flyfishing only in September and will deffinately be back next Spring. Thank you for letting us stay with you, it was fantastic.
