St. Augustine house description
This 3 story Spanish Colonial is one of 36 surviving colonial structures in Saint Augustine. More important - it is one of just a few original structures that date to the First Spanish period. 224 St George Street, an incredibly desirable address, this private residence constructed between 1702 and 1764 is first recorded in 1788 as owned by the Spanish Crown. The Peredes-Sequi-MacMillan house is unusual in its historic significance and interest, yet it is married seamlessly with modern amenities, resulting in a truly beguiling home.
Enter through the courtyard as is typical of the Spanish Colonial style or through the parlor - typical of the Territorial period that followed. The clean, simple lines of colonial architecture, random width wood floors, beamed wooden 12 foot ceilings, large rooms with windows overlooking Saint Augustine's landmark buildings, and vistas, as well as six working fireplaces make this home as inviting today as it has been throughout its long and colorful history.
First floor features include:
A large updated kitchen, retaining the charm of yesteryear with a fireplace and brick floor plus a huge window overlooking the private courtyard setting, formal living-room with a wood-burning fireplace. Large library with a wall of built-in shelving and cabinetry, and guest-bath.
Upper Floor Features:
Upper floors features four large bed-rooms and two large baths. Third floor is fabulous expanse of entire footprint. Very special, with incredible views of St George Street. Zoning permits third floor could be converted to separate apartment. A six foot Coquina wall shelters the courtyard and provides privacy for your outdoor living space.

New Year Eve 2012 - Girls Trip to an Amazing House
New Year Eve 2012 - Girls Trip to an Amazing House
First of all , I must say this house and it's location can not be beat .It is Centrally located to everything. If you are a History buff as I am and the ladies I was travling with. St. Augustine, has Charm, History and all in between. So does this house. From enjoying a cup of cofffe in the kitchen that is almost 300 yrs old, with the Fireplace going, while mapping out the day. That was an experience all of it's own....What an amazing way to start your day. This house has it all.Including a little History of it's own. the house was very Clean and the listing was very accurate and the pictures do not show the house's true beauty. My favorite places for dinner was OC Whites on the water and The Columbia down on St. George downtown. Just a short walk to either wonderful resturant. if you get a chance, go over the Lyons Bridge, have lunch or Dinner at the Famous Couch House. The Calamari & Couch Chowder is amazing. The Flagler College is a must see, take the tour. Don't forget to get your Old Town Trolley pass. We found it so worth the money, you get to see St. Augustine with a tour guide that knows their stuff. Rif the driver was our Favorite. best part is that you can get off and on the trolley on the same pass, it was good for 3 days. All and All the House has everything you will need. The Owner Cathy was Wonderful. She greeted us at the house and showed us everything we needed to know about the house, Cathy we hope to see you again next year.Words just can't express how wonderful your place is, we really enjoyed it. I did not want to leave. Thank you again. Oh Yes I will Recommend this property to Everyone I know that maybe going to St. Augustine.

Owner response: Thank you so much for the nice review Marissa! We are really glad you enjoyed your stay, and hope to see you back next year!
The house is centrally located so that you can walk to attractions, resturants and shopping. The property was clean and well furnished. The owner was very helpful with questions. I would recommend this property to others. It was a perfect location for pre wedding pictures and preperations.

Library on ground floor has a very comfortable single bed for anyone who has trouble with stairs. My friends were very pleased also & said rooms were much larger than they anticipated from the website. House was extremely charming, clean & it had lovely historical & some nautical details. It had very high ceilings. We grew to love the house even more with each passing day & hated to leave it. Excellent shopping, museum, & the water with a couple of blocks. Neighborhood was very quiet & we'd love to go back soon. Has all the modern amenities. "Raintree" & the cafe in the Lichtner museum both were great restaurants. Charming shops border the cafe. Would recommend this house to all people as long as they can do the stairs just once a day for bathing. Nobody will great the choice of this super home.
