The property is in the most exclusive & tranquil area of Tepoztlan, bordered by the Rio Atongo which flows from July to January, and is a 15 minute stroll to the centre, market and restaurants . The gardens are a paradise of mature avocado, jacaranda, palm and tulip trees plus citrus and banana, among large terraced lawns suitable for croquet and other games .
Accommodation consists of the Principal House and two Guest Houses, beautifully furnished & decorated with antique English furniture, paintings, curtains etc with a unique blend of indoor and outdoor living areas.
The Principal House has three bedroom suites each with private bathrooms. One suite also has a sitting room & fireplace. Another is air conditioning. The sitting room is large with fireplace. The library, with fireplace, has TV etc plus 2000 books. Off the library is a full bathroom for guests. The kitchen is very fully equipped with its own library of 300 cookbooks. The Principal House has two dining areas, inside seating for 12 and on the outside terrace seating for 10 .
The Patio & the Pool guest houses each have their own sitting rooms with wood burning fires, kitchenettes with stove and 'fridge, and full bathrooms with tub and shower. The Patio house has a gallery bedroom with two beds - a single and an extra wide (4'6"), and amazing views over the gardens to the mountains. The Pool house has a large double bed. Both houses have terraces with hammocks. The Pool house has a fireplace on its large covered terrace. There are additional sofa beds in both guest houses.
This has been a family compound since re-construction fifteen years ago and in consequence has its own comfortable personality . Amenities are enhanced by the security of a back-up generator in the event of a main electricity failure and its own well and municipal water supply . A truck is on hand which the caretaker will use for shopping if required; he also cares for the pool, gardens and patios .
