My wife and I spend three days traveling the Central Coast and use the cottage as our base. It is quiet and comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay. It is clean with a remarkable amount of modern amenities for a structure of its age. It was just the right size for my wife and I. It was lovely getting up in the morning and having coffee in the garden or on the deck in the mild central California weather, can't think of a better way to start the day, especially coming from the desert like we are. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well in the quiet neighborhood. The small kitchen is well appointed, and even though we didn't have an opportunity to cook there, it would have been completely adequate. The winding roads to the property were a bit confusing at first and watch for deer when driving in after dark. Cambria is a great location for traveling the central coast, but be aware the town shuts down early. We stopped by a local pub and they were shutting the place down and giving us a friendly shove out of the door at 8:45 our first night there. Linn's is an excellent option for breakfast (most likely lunch and dinner as well) with a friendly staff and excellent food. The Ollalliberry muffins are awesome, and we brought back a pie to share with our family back home. We drove down to San Luis Obispo and had dinner and went to a drive-in movie, what a fun evening. It is also a great starting off point for the Monterey Peninsula area, though it is quite a long drive along some beautiful coastline. Be sure to stop to see the falls at Julia Pfieffer state park. The owners of this property are friendly and helpful and we had no trouble contacting them when we needed. We highly recommend this property to any couple who wants to make Cambria the jumping off point to a great central California coast vacation.

Lover's Cottage in Cambria is everything and so much more than the Owners detail online! While the photos are what drew us to the rental, the actual cottage exudes such charm and elegance you would only experience by staying there. After a week's stay, we were so sad to leave. Coffee every morning either on the private deck upstairs or iin the delightful, landscaped garden off the family room (thru the multipaned, french door). Wine everynight in same areas. Music softly permeating the cottage (more CD's than one can every listen with a wide variety of selection). Surrounded by comfort and beauty, it was hard to leave the cottage to explore the area. So many books to choose from when we wanted to idle the day away. Big, flat-screen tv for your favorite show at night or select from their large inventory of DVD's. King-size, comfortable bed in a beautifully-appointed bedroom. We prepared simple but tasty meals at breakfast and dinners in the light and airy kitchen (which overlooks the deck). Everything you need for simple or complex meal preparation right at your fingertips. We determined there was not one, single item we needed which was not provided for by the Owners. Throw blankets for chilly nights with a mezmerizing gas fireplace in which to stare. Maps galore of the area. A large binder outlining everything you can think of necessary to enhance your stay in the cottage (tv/cable directions, restaurant menus, areas of interest nearby to visit and on and on). We took day trips to wine country (30 minutes to Peachy Canyon...our personal fav); 10 minutes to beautiful Moonstone Drive along the Ocean; 20 minutes to Morro Bay, 10 minutes to downtown Cambria (enjoyed lunch at Indiago Moon and Robins), 25 minutes to Elephant Seals and 30 minutes to spectacular Ragged Poin where we had lunch outdoors overlooking the Ocean and gorgeous, peaceful gardenst). Many walk destinations near the Cottage too. Deer, turkeys, birds of all sorts, graced our front and back yards. This cottage has it all. Clever storage areas everywhere. Lots of hot water for the shower. Everything sparkling clean and well maintained. Our experiences when communicating with Owners (whether online or via telephone) was so nice and plesant. You can tell they are happy, low-key people trying their best to make your experience an outstanding one. Our stay was over-the-top, outstanding!

We absolutely loved this warm and beautifully decorated cottage. It was perfect for the two of us. If you want a great place to retreat tucked in a lovely setting, this is the place for you. I almost didn't want to write a review because I want to keep it a secret so it's available for our next stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Lover's Cottage. The cottage was very clean and charming touches throughout; everything we needed was there for us; lots of nice linens, super comfy king bed; tons of CD's and DVD's; plenty of games & puzzles; comfortable chairs & couch to lounge in; especially loved the unique living room window looking out to the garden. Very quiet neighborhood; took walks every day. We can't wait to come back to this lovely haven!! We have already recommended this great find to several friends & family! The owners were very accommodating.

This little cottage was ideal! The owners really supplied everything needed to make us feel at home and comfortable, including information on the walks and activities in the surrounding area. The location was perfect for our beach walking and the area was quiet and peaceful. The only negative to me was the king sized bed was very uncomfortable so I had to sleep in the small twin bed and my son had to sleep on the couch, too tall for the twin bed. Other than that, I would definitely stay here again when my husband and I can get back to the area. I would definitely recommend this little cottage to friends as a wonderful place to stay. Thanks to the owners for keeping it so clean and cozy!

The cottage is exactly as described and is in a very quiet neighborhood. Good for morning walks to Fiscalini ranch and the ocean. Wonderful place to stay and to come "home" to during one's stay. Sharon is a great host, we had a small Christmas tree, Champagne and chocolate as our welcome. Great base for day trips to Paso Robles, Morro Bay, San Luis Obispo and most of all the wonderful, ~ 2 hr. drive along Hwy 1 to Carmel/Monterey. Nice drive back a night too with the moon reflecting in the Pacific. We'll be back for sure.

We felt at home as soon as we opened the front door. We went to the beach to see elephant seals ... huge animals. The ocean was lovely. There are so many little touches to say you are welcome. We loved it.

My husband and I would be happy to recommend this "Lover's Cottage" to our families or friends. The house is very clean and nicely appointed. We arrived to find a bottle of red wine and dark chocolates to enjoy on the sunny back deck. Mornings would find us walking along the bluff or exploring the tide pools. It was very easy to visit the wineries and other seaside towns along the coast. The owners provided a phone with a local number which was helpful since AT&T cell phone service was not available in the immediate area. We often stay at VRBO properties when we travel and this home is at the top of our list.

The charming "Lover's Cottage" is a very magical place to stay in Cambria. We enjoyed morning walks along the bluff trail, exploring the tide pools and listening to the quiet sounds of nature. The cottage was very clean and nicely appointed.. lots of charming details throughout. We found out after we arrived that our At&T reception did not work any where in the immediate area but thankfully there is a phone with a local number provided by the owners. Whenever we travel we use vacation rentals rather than hotels and we would list this home among our favorites.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay at your cottage. The neighborhood was so quiet the only sounds we heard were the chirping of the birds. The deer were everywhere throughout the area and a joy to see. Our only regret was that we did not have more time to stay as we would have liked to hang out at the cottage more. Next time we will stay longer and enjoy the lovely garden and beautiful deck. Thank you for a wonderful experience.
Owner response:Hi Maralee, We appreciate your kind words about your stay at the cottage. We look forward to having you visit again, with time to enjoy more of what Cambria and the quiet neighborhood have to offer. The cottage is delightful no matter the season, so do check your calendar. Best regards, Sharon & Don

My husband and I stayed here for a couple of days during the Memorial Day weekend. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cottage and in Cambria. We saw wild turkeys and deer during our walks around the many nature trails near the cottage. Sharon was very helpful and answered all my questions before we went on our trip. Everything you need is included in the cottage. We felt relaxed and loved the coziness of the cottage. We would love to come back there and stay in the cottage again. We highly recommend anyone looking for a private and romantic place to get away.

Words cannot describe what a relaxing week we had at the cottage. We woke up to families of Deer in the front yard, Blue Jays and Hummingbirds in the back and we even had the pleasure of a visit from a flock of wild turkeys! The cottage was perfectly clean and had everything to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. Moonstone Beach was beautiful and peaceful; a perfect place for a picnic! Lunch at Schooners in Cayucos and Giovanni's in Morro Bay are a must! And of course, the Farmers Markets in the area are fabulous. We can't wait to come back. Thank you for providing such perfect accommodations!!!

Wonderful weekend get-a-way cottage! This place has everything you need including a full kitchen, lovely deck, garden, and fireplace. It's so cozy and home-like, it makes it hard to leave! Its location is a quick charming stroll to the ocean, close to downtown Cambria, and tucked right around the corner from Moonstone Beach. The owners are very accommodating and have a binder full of activities and restaurants around Cambria. Superior vacation overall!

The cottage was absolutely perfect. The size is just right for two, feeling cozy yet spacious at the same time. The large deck was perfect to have a glass of wine while taking in the beauty of the garden and the sunset. The neighborhood is incredibly quiet too, making it feel as if there was no one else around, very serene. The downstairs living room area was incredibly comfy and with the fireplace on it's the perfect place to relax. The owners are very accomodating and easy to talk to, we will definitely be coming back!! The only drawback is that the place is so comfortable you don't want to go anywhere! Thanks Sharon and Don!!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage! The privacy and the natural setting were just what we needed. The garden view was so charming with all the flowers in bloom and the birds hanging out in the oak trees. We will definitely be returning, and hopefully for a longer stay. Great food at Lynn's!
