Owner's Map of Julian

My husband and I have been married 47 years and have built several homes, but this cabin in Julian is our favorite. We have shared it with family and friends since 2001. We opened it to renters four years ago and have been blessed with the opportunity of meeting many new friends. Several families have returned for second visits and plan to return again for reunions. It is the perfect, quick, get-away place for a family or for couples to share and enjoy the quiet and beauty of the outdoors. It is also a perfect mainstay while visiting the San Diego area. Only an hour away from tourist attractions, but far enough away, and quiet enough, to think you have your own place in paradise. Come share our "little slice of heaven" in the mountains of San Diego, California.

Veteran's Day Weekend 2011

If you are looking for a beautiful, well-maintained, quite retreat you have found it. The photo's of the cabin do not do it justice. We spent a wonderful weekend with good friends and family exploring the wineries in the Julian area Veteran's Day weekend 2011. This very comfortable cabin retreat has everything you would need even down to the umbrella's we needed. The rain did not stop us from having a great time. There are several great restaurants. We enjoyed the pizza at Wynola Pizza on Friday night, they offer live music with local talent. Saturday night we had to make a choice for dinner between the Julian Grille and Jeremy's on the Hill. The Julian Grille was excellant. And don't forget to have a slice of a Julian Apple Pie. We would recommend two places, The Julian Pie Company and Mom's. Both have excellant pie. Thank you Chuck and Beth for opening up your beautiful cabin in the woods for us to use, we enjoyed the weekend and will recommend your cabin to friends and family.

My friends and I spent a wonderful girls weekend at this property. I have rented many properties in the past and I must say that this is the best by far. the location, the property itself, the cleanliness, and all the amenities were outstanding. I was so comfortable at all times. we plan to make this a yearly thing now. thank you Chuck and Beth for sharing your lovely home with others. I will cherish my time at your cabin always.

absolutely wonderful cabin - BETTER than the pictures !!

Guest: Morgan (Paris France)
Date of Stay: 12/25/10 Review Submitted: 01/02/11

Our Family of 5 just spent a few days over the Holdays ( Dec. 2010) in this fantastic cabin retreat.... I would highly recommend it to everyone ! with 3 bathrooms and such a large living space, there is plenty of room for many people. the view is to die for, and we had a mix of all modern ( properly working) amenities with a rustic cabin feel (altho it is in excellent shape !). note this is one case when the pictures do not do it justice... the place is much better than portrayed in the pictures ! (which is a risk via the internet at times...). We hope to return and thank the owners for sharing their wonderful home !! (one person came from Paris France, is in the vacation rental business...so we had exacting expectations ! ) merci !!

Owner response:We are so glad that your Christmas 2010 was a good one and that our cabin was a place to make it happen. Come back and visit Julian again. Chuck and Beth Howell

Like your own home on a mountain!

Guest: DaveandJudy (Chicago, Illinois/Midwest)
Date of Stay: 09/03/10 Review Submitted: 09/13/10

Our family of 8 adults and a toddler came together from all over the country for a short vacation. The cabin was ideal. Everybody thought it was fantastic! It was filled with comfortable rooms and chairs, every amenity, a fantastic wrap-around balcony with hammock, with a stunning view across the valley to the next mountain, and spectacular stars at night. We hiked; picked apples; toured a gold mine; shopped and ate very well in nearby Julian; and enjoyed just hanging around in the comfort and beauty of this home.

Awesome Cabin high in the Moutains of Julian

We celebrated Easter in this beautiful cabin, full of amenities, beautifully decorated, and the most awesome sights when the clouds cleared. We can attest to the cabin’s great craftsmanship as we rode through the Mexicali earthquake - felt as a 4.2 in Julian (or so the local paper said). Great place for any gathering or just to get away. Highly recommend it and would definitely return. Thank you!
