Birchpoint Lodge with its dragon-headed roof is an English translation of the Norwegian-American owner’s last name. The lodge is designed to bring out images of a Norwegian lake home, with high vaulted ceilings, wood floors and walls finished with locally cut and milled poplar and pine.
The lodge is secluded from other cabins by mature Norway pines and other conifers. A mile-long driveway leads into the property and the road is ideal for walks, jogging, bird and wildlife watching, berry picking and flower gathering. To be at Birchpoint is like going to Norway, only closer.

Beautiful 6-bedroom lodge and 1-bedroom guest studio located on Bad Medicine Lake. Lodge features large screened porch and 2 decks with beautiful view of the lake. Nice, sandy swimming area with dock and swimming raft. Fully equipped kitchen has new electric stove and refrigerator with ice maker.
There are 2 bedrooms on the main floor, one with a queen bed and set of bunk beds and the other with a twin bed and set of bunk beds. On the second floor is a bedroom with a queen bed and access to a balcony. The other bedroom has 2 twin beds and a couch. On the lower level are 2 walkout bedrooms, one with a queen bed and one with a king bed and three twin beds. There are 2 bathrooms, one is on the lower level with a tub/shower and the other is on the main floor with a shower stall.
The studio is a 1-bedroom space located above the 24x24-detached garage. It has a full bed and two twins.
The lodge and studio are located on 200 feet of private shoreline on one of the cleanest freshwater lakes in Minnesota. Water clarity as measured with a secchi disk is as much as 32 feet in the spring. This pristine clear lake is also known as one of Minnesota’s premier scuba diving and trout fishing lakes.
Birchpoint Lodge is especially suited for get-togethers of family and friends, people wanting to see changing of fall colors up north, business meetings, quilters, church groups, book clubs, social groups, bird watchers, hikers/walkers, artists and other groups of up to 16 people. Birchpoint is located 13 miles from the entrance of Itasca State Park which is open all year round, including a visitor center with a gift shop and museum.
