Guayama a municipality since 1736. Derives its name from the Taíno word Guamaní, which means "our path". Is so centrically and conveniently located, it will let you enjoy most of the southern towns of Puerto Rico.
At a few steps from our vacation home, you can visit our attractive European style Plaza with its unique fountain, Puerto Rico's largest water fountain, from there, you walk around the block and find downtown with many small stores, artisans, little restaurants, taste our Latin flavors cuisine, or eat our unique Puerto Rican sandwiches. For a special local treat, taste our delicious ice cream made from our tropical fruits.
Located in front of the plaza you will find the beautiful Iglesia (church) San Antonio de Padua the only one in Puerto Rico in the neo-romantic style. You will notice a hand-painted clock on the tower that reads 11:30am, the exact time when the church was baptized. The bells were cast in Germany in 1835 from bronze and gold.
Just a short distance from the Iglesia San Antonio de Paduais Museo Casa Cautiño, built in 1887, is an important historical structure and museum. A glimpse of life in the 19th century with original furnishings, paintings, and personal effects.
You can ride, on Sundays, a free Trolley from 9am to 4pm. Will take you all around Guayama sightseeing and ending at Bella Artes, a new art center exhibiting historical artifacts and painting.

At the shoreline, the coastal towns Ponce (founded in 1692) is a major cosmopolitan and cultural hub in Puerto Rico. This architecturally rich city houses several museums worth exploring.
Salinas many sea food restaurants great harbors for pleasure boats/P.R. International Speedway, one of the 25 best racetracks in North America.
Arroyo has a beautiful ocean view drive-Samuel Morse installed in Arroyo (1859) the first telegraph line in P.R. and Latin America.
Patillas beautiful lakes stretch out along sandy white beaches where you can enjoy waterfront restaurants and stunningly beautiful coastal forests.
Coamo well known because of the healthful hot springs discovered in 1571. The legends say that this was the fountain of youth sought by Juan Ponce de Leon (the first Spanish governor of the Island). While in town, stop by the Museum Historico of Coamo.)
