Map & Owner's Profile
Heart of Kure Beach, 1 1/2 Blocks to Ocean, Pier, Rest.&Arcade
Year Purchased: 2008
Why the Owner Chose Kure Beach
Kure Beach offers everything we have always wanted in a vacation destination. We love the family atmosphere and open un-crowded beaches. The deciding factor in purchasing our vacation home was the location in Kure Beach. Since it is in the heart of Kure Beach, it is literally only a couple minutes to walk to the Kure Beach Pier, excellent restaurants, ice cream shop, arcade, beach store and convenience store. I love the idea that once we get to our beach house, we never have to get into the car again. And since it is only a 2 hour 15 minute drive from our home, we are able to enjoy it as often as we like. We have enjoyed building those special family memories in Kure Beach and we are sure you will too.
The Unique Benefits at this House
If you want something to do other then enjoy the beach, the Ferry to Southport (a guaint fishing village), North Carolina State Aquarium and the Fort Fisher Civil War Museum are only several miles away. Golf is just over the bridge and a visit to Wilmington for shopping or the river front is only a 20 minute drive. Carolina Beach is 5 miles away which offers charter boat fishing excursions, shopping and outdoor Sunday night family movies. Walk out on the Kure Beach pier around 9:00PM and have the best seat in the house to watch the fireworks. One of our favorite things to do is to take a walk on the beach at sun rise. It is always a beautiful sight and it is the best time to try to find sea shells on the beach. My son and I love to fish off the Kure Beach Pier and since it is open 24 hours, we can go anytime we want. Plus we have some great pictures of the fish we have pulled in.
The Kure Beach Pier provides excellent fishing as well as a large store that offers everything from ice cream, snacks, beach supplies, fishing supplies, gifts, pool tables, arcade games and much more.
Great local breakfast, lunch and dinner restaurant. Our son especially likes the french toast and sausage and their biscuit's and gravy are out of this world.
Excellent Italian Restaurant that is open year round, so you know it is good. But we have to warn you, the wait can be an hour or more during the summer but it is worth it.
Jack’s is an excellent family seafood restaurant. Great bar with lots of TV's. Very good lunch menu with great sandwiches. If you go, you must try their award winning seafood chowder.
Great family style seafood restaurant. You can't go wrong with a meal at Big Daddy's.
Very nice arcade for the kids. Great for a quick break from the sun or stop by after dinner and give the kids a treat.
Southport is a beautiful, quaint fishing village that boast fabulous shopping and excellent restaurants. A great day trip see another part of the coast.
Are you in the mood for a beer, some good company and maybe shoot a little pool? If so, Bud & Joe's is for you. It’s been here forever and once you visit, you will know why.
This store has a little of everything. Snacks, Ice, gifts, drinks, fishing supplies etc.
We absolutely love the North Carolina State Aquarium at Fort Fisher. Lots of interactive activities for the kids. Watch them feed the alligators or pet the horse shoe crab. Lots to see and do.
Learn all about Fort Fisher and the roll it played in the Revolutionary War.
See the remains of the historic Fort. View the markers that describe the Fort and where it once stood and take pictures of the remaining cannons that protected the Fort.
Here is where you would drive onto the beach at the North end of Pleasure Island. We love to drive on the beach at night with friends, build a fire and share some wine. Good times!!
Owner's Map of Kure Beach
We have lived in NC for the past 20 years and we have visited every beach in the state. We chose Kure Beach to buy our vacation home because it offers everything we love to do while enjoying a vacation at the beach. We especially love the fact that we are so close to the ocean. You can see the ocean from our driveway and it is only 300 feet away. We can literally be at the beach in just a few minutes. This really comes in handy when we have friends visit with small children. It is just a very short walk if they need to use the bathroom or to refill the cooler. We also love to surf fish and fish from the Kure Beach Fishing Pier which is only 1 ½ short blocks away. We are sure that when you visit, you will fall in love with Kure Beach just as we have.

We had a fantastic time at this beach house. As many other reviewers said the only problem was that our trip wasn't longer. The beach is just a tiny walk, as was described on the website. The house is beautifully decorated and has absolutely everything you need. The beds were extremely comfortable. John was a pleasure to communicate with and we especially appreciated the restaurant recommendations. We had dinner at Jack Mackerals and it was truly fantastic! The Old Bay chips are to die for. We really hope to stay at this great house again soon...

My friends and I decided to do an end of the summer girlfriend getaway over Labor Day weekend and chose the Heart of Kure Beach as our destination. We had a fantastic trip! The Trusch family was awesome. They send us several e-mails as well as a hard copy of suggestions for food, entertainment, nightlife, etc. both locally and in Wilmington too. There was more than enough room for everyone and the layout of the house allowed us to all hang out together comfortably. The walk to the beach was about a minute and we were allowed to use the Trusch's beach cart to wheel our stuff over with ease. We loved the super clean, super cute house and the location was unbeatable. We will definetely be returning. Thanks for everything!

We loved Our Korner of Kure and plan for it to be our Home Away from Home, It was very clean and in the perfect location to walk to everything we enjoy. We would recommend anyone who wants a feeling of home to stay here. The owners have taken pride in this home and are very friendly professionals. Thanks John for letting us know about Jack Mackerals it was wonderful.
Owner response:Thank you Tonya for your kind words. The main reason we purchased Our Kornor of Kure is because of its location. We love that there is so much to do within 2 blocks of the house. We can walk to our favorite restaurant, get an ice cream cone, walk on the pier (or fish) and play the arcade. We also take pride in the fact that the house is clean and in perfect shape for each and every renter. We look forward to welcoming you to our vacation home for years to come.

We give this place and owners 5 Stars plus 5. It was awesome and unforgettable. We had our children and grandchildren with us and this house is so appropriately decorated and accomodated us to a tee. It is so conveniently located, very close to beach and pier with a layed back community atmosphere. We loved swimming and relaxing on the beach, riding bikes and walking. We even saw dolphins and got pictures. Icing on the cake is the owners...so very nice, friendly and easy to work with. We'll definitely be back and have already told friends about this place. Thanks for sharing your Korner of Kure.

The house was more than we expected! Beautiful, interior decorating that is fitting to the area! Everything was clean, well maintained! Basically all you would need to start a vacation! We loved the Aquarium and Fort Fisher, which is just a stone's throw away! Plus the Ferry ride to Southport was an experience! The pier was fantabulous! I went down before sunrise to catch the picturesque views of the sun coming up over the ocean! We tried 3 of the many local restaraunts close to the house. Big Daddy's was not that great. The others were very good! Check out Granny's! Great, Southern Hospitality!! I have already told some friends of the area and the rental!! A+++
