Location! Location! Location! Saronida/Lagonissi, GREEECE. Near Athens, Pireaus, Sounio, & Athens Airport. Located on The Apollo Coast and easily accessible to Athens. Some of the very best beaches in Greece so there is no need to travel to the islands. Saronida is where the Athenians go to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life for an afternoon, weekend, or extended stay.

Conveniently situated on the Aegean/Saronic Sea and still only 45 km from Athens; enjoy all the activities of the islands without ever leaving the mainland. Our home is located half way between Piraeus (main port of Greece) and Sounio (Temple of Poseidon).
Our small but charming beach cottage is perfect for a couple or small family and offers a wonderful and romantic home 150 meters from the sea, just far enought to avoid the noise and hazards of the coastal highway.
It has character and light and has been lovingly cared for. Every room has sliding glass doors opening onto a veranda (front and back). The garden is lush and green with gazebo, gold fish pond, & outdoor showers to wash off after your return from the beach. It is the kind of place you want to come home to, rather than just a place to sleep and toss your luggage. If you are looking for a combination of beach life (Saronida) and city life (Athens) then this is your place.
Our home is in the upscale community of Saronida just 4 km from the infamous Grand Resort Hotel in Lagonissi. You can enjoy the privacy of our beach or walk to Saronida Beach or treat yourself to an afternoon languishing on the Lagonissi Beach. From our front door you are moments from cafes, Greek pastries, tennis, afternoons at the beach or pool, outdoor evening movies, or whatever your heart desires. The Aegean Sea is slightly visible from inside and sunsets are picturesque. Strolling along Galaneon Street (the street above our home) and watching the sunset/sunrise alongside the locals is an evening or morning must do.
There are natural stone floors throughout and a lovely breeze passes through the house if you open up the veranda doors keeping it cool in the summertime, rarely have we required the air-conditioning. It is fully equipped for the winter with autonomous heat and a fireplace.
Saronida is a year round community with all markets, transportation, and entertainment available winter or summer; of course swimming and sunbathing is best done during the summer months ;-)
The house is roughly 70 square meters (700 square feet) which is why we recommend it only for a couple or small family. If you include the two verandas the space is a total of 1000+ square feet and if you include the garden it is pure paradise. We have a small table on the back veranda that offers a cool breeze perfect for morning coffee or a romantic dinner and there is also a large table on the front veranda that allows for cooler evening temperatures. The verandas are large and roomy and let in the light, cool breeze, or warm sunshine.
Walk to the beach and we have beach umbrellas, chairs and towels for you to take with you. For a change of pace, hop on the E22 to explore all the history, culture, mythology, and magic of Athens. The bus stop is just down the road and bus fare is a mere 1 Euro 20 cents. There is also a bus that you can take to The Temple of Poseidon at Sounion; a short trip with a minimal fare.
A car is not necessary although there is parking at the house, there are rental cars, taxis, private for-hire drivers, and my personal choice public transportation to Athens, Pireaus, or Sounio.
If you enjoy more vigorous exercise, immediately across the street is an exclusive international tennis/country club with an Olympic sized pool. We have two bicycles available for your use.

Why the Owner Chose Saronida
Although we have a home in Kolonaki and enjoy spending time in the city I stay mostly in the Saronida area. I like the convenience of being close enough to Athens to drive in for an afternoon or evening but far enough away from the hustle and bustle and most important close to the sea. It reminds me of the 18 years I lived in the Hudson Valley area of New York (West Point) and could drive a short 45 minutes into Manhattan for shopping, dinner, theatre, etc.. of course the Hudson River is not nearly as inviting as the Aegean Sea!
Hop on the E22 express bus to Athens. Only 1 euro 20 cents or take the Sounio bus to Temple of Poseidon

My husband Dimitris and me (Denise). This was our primary home for the past 8 years. We called it our PARADISE. We moved to Greece from the USA in 2002 and I felt that I was not quite ready for Athens full-time. Coming from the mid-west (Kansas City) I was more comfortable in a smaller community.
