Welcome to Playa Grande, a quiet laidback corner on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica known for its world class surfing, sailing and fishing, nesting area for the endangered Leatherback sea turtle and home to several Howler monkey troops. Our villa is a new, elegant, comfortable and spacious two story home just 600 feet from a stunning beach and pristine water in Marino Las Baulas National Park. This villa is one of five villas and offers the best in quality furniture/beds. Additionally this villa is the most private and quiet of the 5 villas. The modern, fully equipped kitchen opens to the dining area and family room offering a 42” flat screen TV and an adjacent rear courtyard providing abundant natural light. Off the Family Room is the Queen Bedroom with connecting bathroom and sliding glass door access to the courtyard.
On the second floor, at the top of the stairs, is a quiet Loft/Sitting area outfitted with another 42” flat screen and Futon couch. Off the Loft Area is the large Master Bedroom/bathroom which includes a furnished outdoor Veranda with ceiling fan, overlooking the salt water swimming pool below. A desk/office area is also included in the Master bedroom. On the rear side of this bedroom is a smaller veranda with views of the surrounding rain forest where you’ll see tropical birds and an occasional family of Howler Monkeys. Finally, the Twin bedroom (which makes you feel as if you're in a tree house), bathroom and full laundry are also located on this floor.
This villa is the perfect place to come back to after a day of adventures or relaxing. The Costa Rican people are friendly, the food is fresh, the (Imperial) beer is excellent and the coffee is……Costa Rican. Playa Grande is a great place to do any number of exciting and interesting activities even if one of those happens to be..... doing absolutely nothing.

Overall, the house is really cool!!!! The place is beautifully furnished, all the architectural details are mint, clean, silent, and really comfortable spaces. The property administrator is very nice, and makes your stay pleasant. I would definitely recommend this place.

What a great week my friend and I had. The condo was spotless, roomy with a wonderful location as the beach was a mere 3 minute walk. People living in other condos were so helpful and other guests were fun to meet and spend time with. Many unique restaurants within walking distance. Beach was not crowded at all. I'd go again and stay right there.

What a great week my friend and I had staying in such a wonderful condo, with great people in our secluded area of paradise. A mere 3 minute walk to the best beach without a crowd. Howler monkies in the trees outside your complex. Easy walking to many restaurants of all kinds. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Wow I never thought the best vacation rental I have ever used could get even better but it has. Please see my review from last season! The owner has added some nice touches to the otherwise perfect vacation rental. There is now a wall mounted flat screen in the master bedroom and a new 40" in the livingroom. When I left the owner was having some custom paint work done though I can't imagine why! He has also added small decorater homey touches throughout that just make it feel more like a home than a rental. The property manager Freda is very accmodating and has enough activities, tours and exciting things to do to keep you very busy or just relax by one of the most beautiful beaches on the planet! Of course don't forget to have Melina your housekeeper cook you one of her famous meals with a Nico flavor. Her husband Lionel runs a tight ship and provides the best security in the area. As I said there is much to do from sailing and snorkeling to offshore fishing. The surf out front will challlange even the most experienced surfer but is warm and welcoming even to the casual swimmer or boogie boarder. There is night life close by in Tamarindo and Flamingo with something for all tastes. Restuarants abound, are very reasonable with the best food you will find any where at any price. My favorite is Kike's Place in Playa Grande where the food is fresh and yummy, the service is great and the atmosphere is fun and casual. You may even find my friend Rocko and his band Fusion playing some original local Latin music. I have been to Playa Grande now 3 years in a row and always have had the time of my life. It is one of the most beautiful and diverse countries I have ever visited and whether this is your first trip or one of many you won't want to miss out on a stay at Villas Costa Grande!

My husband and I stayed at the Villa spring break week with our 4 teenagers. It was perfect. A short walk to a beautiful beach. Within walking distance of 8-10 restaurants, a little store and a surf shop - this gave us great flexibility for everyone to do what they wanted to do. In a short drive we could do a zipline, an estuary tour, sailing & snorkeling, surfing (walking), a day at the spa, a drink in Tamarindo. Close to activity when wanted. Quiet and peaceful when wanted. Everyone had space at the Villa. The living room worked well to play games. Nice appliances and help. We can't wait to come back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Playa Grande and the villa was as advertised. The appliances were all in good working order, the villa is furnished very nicely and accomodates 6 adults comfortably. We appreciated the neighbors who were so willing to recommend other areas to explore - they are great folks. Lionel, Melina and their son were such sweet people and were available at all times. They provide security, clean the villas, maintain the pool and are willing to do anything for you. The beach is just a short walk from the villa - to our delight the howler monkeys were spending lots of time in the trees right out our windows. There were a lot of birds that were new for us to see, too. The rental fee was affordable and made our vacation a reality. We will consider renting again.

This beautiful two story villa reflects the very best of Tico craftsman ship and you are surrounded by rich wood work and cabinetry, Costa Rican tile floors and bathrooms, all of the modern appliances, laundry including full AC and a large flat screen TV with cable service with all the major US networks make this way more than just a vacation rental. Wow that's a lot to say! Oh did I mention the landscaped courtyard complete with a pool. It is a family friendly environment and enjoys the protection of a full time gatekeeper and gaurd as well as a security system and may well be one of the most secure homes in the area. This home is directly accross from the beach access road and one of the most beautiful and expansive beaches I have ever seen. Surf temps are generally in the low to mid 80's. The water is sparkling clean with fantastic visability. The surf is a dream come true even for the most advanced surfer. Close by with most roads paved you will find many small villages that are safe and fun with many activities from snorkling, sunset cruises, horseback riding, fishing, dining and night life. For a real thrill go to the local bull fight for some street food and true local flavor. No bulls are hurt and it is a wonderful display of hosemanship and bull riding! I love the Playa Grande area and this home will always be my first choice in which to stay!

Dear Robert & Mary Ann, In mid July I spent a week in your Villas Costa Grande home with three friends. We had such an amazing vacation in Playa Grande and CAN NOT wait to return. Your home was lovely and suited our needs perfectly! We were so happy and have you to thank. Melina and Lionel were wonderful to us and it became hard to say goodbye. Thank you again for opening your home for our adventures! Sincerely, Melina Dunn
